  1. Love it. Great for us to take a chance on a highly rated youngster from a local club, rather than see them going elsewhere and succeeding. Good luck, Kane.
  2. Didn’t Palmer join right at the end of the preseason anyway, so whilst he was physically fit, he wasn’t there for most of LJ’s work with the team?
  3. Where have you seen that? Can’t see anything on Twitter.
  4. They mean the bee in the comments below.
  5. I’ve heard most of the Liverpool fans are still waiting for their coach to turn up.
  6. And the Wycombe one is a grade a cockwomble
  7. It’s been an odd season. We’re pretty much where I thought we would be, but it could have been so different. So many late goals, and points lost from winning positions. That screams of a weak mentality amongst the squad, which is hard to change. Lots of set piece goals conceded also links to poor organisation, or mentally switching off. If we hadn’t conceded the injury time goals, we’d be up near the playoffs! So, who’s to blame for that? Pearson’s tactics in crunch time? Players tiring? Players switching off, or making individual mistakes? For me, it’s not a problem that is easily fixed without substantial recruitment and we’re not going to get that. So, what do we do? Stick with NP, even though he clearly doesn’t value several members of the squad and hasn’t been able to improve the organisation of the defence. Or, twist and see if someone else can turn water into wine with our mentally weak players. Today’s the first time that I’ve started to edge towards twisting. Give me someone like Gareth Ainsworth who can build a strong team spirit, unless we’re in a position where we can provide NP with some funds to replace the players he wants out.
  8. What happened to Chris Wood or Ben White? If a bigger club wants any of those clubs’ players, they’d be gone. Unless we hit the heights of a Premier League winning side, we’ll be a selling club. Every one is.
  9. If VAR is to be used, then it should be used like rugby. Another official watching the game and communicating with the on-field ref. Anything missed by the on-field ref can be picked up, and the on-field ref can ask for clarification if he’s not sure. The game would take longer, no doubt, but you should get more right decisions than wrong. And the refs should be mic’d up.
  10. He’s better than League One level ?
  11. Leeds are banning the parents? Don’t tell this guy…
  12. I’ve not had the time to read through this whole thread, so apologies if this has been said. For me, now would be a great time to hear from Jon Lansdown or Richard Gould. Something backing Pearson. A statement saying that Pearson is still our man and we back his three year plan. If players don’t get behind him, then we support him in shipping them out. He’s here challenging the cosy club nature that many of us have bemoaned over the last decade, or maybe even two decades. How many times have we heard that we’re too nice? Well, we have a manager now who sees that and wants to shake it up and change it. A new culture isn’t born in a year, this is going to take time and the cosy club has been embedded for almost a generation. If they’re going to back Pearson, which I think they should, then they need to go all in.
  13. I would 100% upgrade from an audio pass to video if it was available. I don’t really “get” VPNs, even though I probably could sort one if I really wanted to. I’d rather pay for the video properly and it certainly wouldn’t affect my choice to attend an in-person match whenever I got the chance.
  14. Scotland beckons IMO. Not sure a Championship side take a risk, he’ll think he’s too good for most L1 sides and anyone lower.
  15. Trying out different camera angles on red button? Unusual. maybe not. Just teasing us before kickoff ?
  16. Answered my own question. He’s in League Two, for FGR v Exeter. So, demotion? Or was this a case of a higher league ref being shipped in for a local derby?
  17. Went in for the first time in a while recently, as I was taking my young son and wanted a souvenir. The offering is dire. Nearly all the shop is taken up by shirts, split almost equally between rugby and the women’s team. The “pocket money” items are non existent. Anything smaller, eg caps and bottles, are placed in the queue, so you have to push past people to look. As someone else said, this is the one thing that the Gas have better than us. Their partnership with The Terrace looks great. We really need to be exploring avenues like that too, although The Terrace probably take a hefty percentage.
