  1. Could a best case end up being - he goes to Bournemouth, bangs in a few goals whilst they go down, then a bigger club pick him up this summer and we feast on the sell-on too?
  2. Had a brief conversation with a Bodo/Glimt fan on Twitter. Reckons he’s an excellent ball player, good on 1 on 1s. Compared him to David Raya. Left because he wanted the challenge of playing in UK. Link here:
  3. Strong possibility I reckon, given clubs seem to be making their minds up earlier about sitting players in the last year of their contracts if they’re not signing. The summer could be a really difficult one.
  4. If we had money, or got money from a Semenyo sale, then Cooper at Plymouth would be incredible. Appreciate he’s out of our league as things stand.
  5. Wonder if we’ll regret turning down £10m. Doesn’t seem to be a long queue of clubs hammering down our door for him, but there may well be when his contract is nearer the end. Hope this doesn’t turn into a Maynard situation.
  6. I live just down the road from Wycombe. I’d love Ainsworth here, but can’t see it. The club is built in Ainsworth’s image, he can do anything he wants and is the absolute main man. Can’t see him giving it up for anything, really, think he’ll be there until he wants to pack it all in and retire.
  7. I’ll give a serious answer - Mark Shail. Joined from Conference side Yeovil whilst we were in Division 1. Similar to Wilson, didn’t play many games to start with, but went on to be a regular before injuries hit.
  8. Paul Hartley joining us from Celtic. I mean, that’s a step up from League two level competition, isn’t it?
  9. Fair enough. I’m sure I recognise the name from somewhere.
  10. Ref for the Birmingham game is James Linington. Isn’t he the one from QPR last season? Didn’t know this game was being played on the Downs.
  11. Sure I’ve heard it’s Nigel’s preference - split the middle between two Saturday games, equal rest each side, rather than rushing for a Tuesday match. May be wrong though.
  12. I don’t think he’ll start until after the international break. If we start him on Saturday, that’s sending a message to the Ghana manager that he’s ready to start games. As @marcofisher said above, Pearson’s been very vocal about how he wants Ghana to ease Semenyo back in. Can’t see him doing anything that would jeopardise that.
  13. I reckon it’s Massengo. Imagine the cheer if we get one and he scores his first goal from it.
  14. I sat in the Dolman last night, and was relieved to see that they don’t run in front of the Lansdown. Have previously sat in lower Lansdown and lower South Stand and have found them incredibly bright, off putting and that they make it hard to pick out the players. I’m sure it’s to do with the angles, lower you are, the worse it is. It must be a consideration for the players at times.
  15. Yeah, I think 10 would be his target. We could end up with 20 each for Semenyo and Weimann, 15 for Wells, 10 each for Conway and Martin. That would be incredible.
  16. I was counting league only by the way, and don’t think it would be unbelievable if they all get 15…
  17. I’ve had a very cursory glance over the last few seasons, so may have got this very wrong, but it seems rare from my memory. This year, I wouldn’t consider it unlikely if 4 of our strikers reach double figures in goals - Weimann, Wells, Conway and Semenyo. When was the last time that happened? Again, apologies if it was really recent!
  18. I’m a bit worried that it’s gone quiet immediately after the report that Antoine will see out his contract. We can’t afford to let him go for nothing - even though 2 years is a long time in football and he might change his mind before then.
  19. Not really, in what’s known as the “Bomber estate” if you know the area.
  20. I’m in Maidenhead, with 3 young kids who would want to come with me if I came to a game. Looking at around £120-£150 at least, which I just can’t afford right now. I have a radio subscription and listen to every game, and could talk for hours about the club. Hopefully, my finances and time commitments will improve and I’ll make it back more regularly, but at current prices it’s impossible. Last time I went was when I won tickets through Sky VIP to the City v Derby game last year.
  21. From the Sky website, re midweek matches. They can only show displaced, rearranged games, or where clubs choose not to use I follow. So I’d imagine a grand total of 0 red button games for us this year. Look at the bottom of this link, the “Please note” bit in bold: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/12105601/championship-football-live-how-to-watch-midweek-matches-live-on-sky-sports
  22. Would his injuries be a dampener on his promise and potential fees? Seem to remember he’s had a few lay-offs.
  23. In Naismith and Kane we’ve made two sensible signings. As someone else said, round pegs in round holes. Sykes, I’m not 100% sold on, but he adds versatility and was a free transfer, so not much risk. It’s a great start. Could do with another central midfielder if HNM goes, and wouldn’t be too surprised to see a striker to help us prepare for the inevitable departures of Wells and Semenyo either this summer or January.
