  1. And if the team that missed out on Kelly would like to make a move for Webster, that would be great too.
  2. Letting players like Diedhiou and Paterson walk out of the club for free was criminal.
  3. I’ll give my views, as an exiled fan who hasn’t been to the Gate for about 3 years. Firstly, Ashton Gate is terrific. A great stadium to watch football in. We’re lucky to have such a good stadium. On to the match. Maybe it was novelty for me, but I didn’t think it was that bad. First half was definitely better than the second. We created four clear-cut chances and should have been out of sight. Their only danger was number 36, but Atkinson kept him under wraps. We looked solid, if unspectacular. The addition of O’Dowda and Scott seems to have given us more width and more opportunities to cross the ball in. Both did well, if the final ball could be improved a little on occasion. Scott is a player. Great goal, too. Same for Atkinson, really like his potential. Driving runs, won most things in the air and won his battle against a tricky winner. What I saw was pretty much what I expected. A solid, mid table team who need to go all out for a mobile target man type striker in January/the summer.
  4. Look back. The last time he played this well consistently was when his contract was in its final year. There’s a player in there, but are we going to see it enough, after about 4/5 years of trying.
  5. Williams made a brilliant through pass to the striker in the first 30 mins. Just a shame it was their striker.
  6. Disappointing to even see City fans on here defending it and dismissing it as “woke”, or glibly asking “what words can we use then?” If you’re describing anything bad that happens as a holocaust, then I’d suggest you need to widen your vocabulary. It’s quite clearly an offensive term, shown simply by the fact that Rovers rushed to edit it out of their video. How about people realise that the world has changed over the last few decades from the “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” era, into one where people realise how damaging words can be as well. Barton’s in a public position and, as such, needs to be extra careful about his language and choice of words. This was a clear slip, which likely demonstrates that he uses the word fairly regularly. I can’t say it’s ever a word that would come to my mind when describing something. Rovers know it shouldn’t have been used, hence the editing of the video. An apology for using a term offensive to many should be forthcoming especially from a club that have done a lot of good things this season regarding diversity, inclusion and against domestic violence.
  7. And the casualness with which he uses it, sounds like it’s a regular part of his vocabulary.
  8. They’ve edited their matchday video to take it out now, but here’s the quote:
  9. Scott never gets a mention? Of course he does, I often hear people talking about the old Tinman Murray connection, especially in the build up to Cardiff games. Jacki was an enigma, which is why people loved him. Murray is arguably one of our better players ever and has not been forgotten.
  10. I forgot that we’re 24th in the table with 6 defeats from 7. Oh wait, that’s the saviour Hughton’s old team. We’re mid table. We’re not getting beaten often, just not winning enough. We’ll finish mid table.
  11. Yep, and they shout the loudest as each whinger starts a new thread, so it seems like there’s lots of unrest. Hopefully most can see that this rebuild is a huge job for anyone to take on.
  12. They lost to the monkey hangers with a goal in the 69th minute? Nice.
  13. I heard the electronic voice you get at the start/end of broadcasts then it cut out in injury time. Not been back since.
  14. What interests me is that 13 of those 27 are out of contract next year, as well. You could easily end up with 30 signings over a 2 year period. Crazy.
  15. I stand by my words, no matter how much stick I’ve taken. My view are that domestic abuse is unforgivable, particularly for people in the public eye. Simpson is welcome to a second chance in a non public eye, role. But as a role model for children and others, he shouldn’t be in the privileged position of being paid to play a game for a living. We could have backed that up by refusing to sign him. We didn’t. The scenarios are different but comparable. Both clubs had the chance to take a stand, on an issue they’ve supposedly supported before. We didn’t even make a comment for several weeks. Obviously, if it had happened whilst DS was employed with us, he’d likely be sacked. But, no doubt, many would be on here wanting to give him a second/third chance. Barton should be sacked and Simpson should be earning his money elsewhere. Not a lot could convince me otherwise, unless DS wants to demonstrate he’s really changed by doing som educational or charity work about his experiences and why DV is wrong. No, didn’t think so.
  16. I suspect that, if he’s found guilty, their club will probably do the right thing and get rid. Sadly, I can’t say the same about our club after their support of Simpson.
  17. Not a great kit, but I will give them credit for a great launch. Inclusive, representative of all elements of the community. It’s not often that I’ll say well done to them, but on this occasion they deserve it.
  18. I had a great day. Was in Cardiff with my Cardiff supporting friend as it happened. The same day that Cardiff were relegated from the Premier League. Day of dreams.
  19. Imagine a derby with Pearson in one dugout and Barton in the other....
  20. Joey Barton being appointed according to Bristol Live. Perfect fit for them. Scum.
  21. Seems to nearly always be good for a costly mistake each game, but that’s what you get from young players. Wouldn’t be playing ahead of a back three of Kalas, Baker & Mawson.
