  1. I listened to the 5Live Sports extra broadcast which was actually Radio Nottingham's commentary and it was very good. Apart from the odd mention of "we" the commentary was really fair and they weren't one-eyed at all. The commentator had really done his homework and knew a lot about individual players, and he called us "City" throughout. Steve Sutton was the summariser and he was a little more biased, but really impressed with Max, he did call us "Bristol" a lot though he did correct himself at times. At @Davefevs is right, it was a bit like the old days. I even had the lights off, so it felt like the days of the "3 day week".
  2. You do realise we wouldn't have got to a shoot out if it wasn't for Sam's great defending, and that he set up Nakhi for what should have been the winner?
  3. I thought Bak might start, but for those who have suggested that recent signings mean that the Academy isn't all that, I have seen almost all those players playing and looking good for the U21's and several have already made the 1st team bench at least. That's pretty impressive for an U18s side.
  4. I am around at my father in law's setting up his laptop for him. Knowing that he is a Gashead I thought I would set up their official site for him. I noticed that on top of the airbrushing of Jamie MacAllister, they also seem to have selective match reporting, you wouldn't even know they played Fleetwood last night, let alone the ignominious defeat.
  5. I think it's worse these days with social media. Someone picks up on that post here and posts it on one or two of the other outlets, that gets picked up again and recycled back on here and all of a sudden it's a "fact" that he has a "bad attitude". It then becomes difficult for him to prove that wrong.
  6. You might not know them by name, but A Punk was probably the most used promo music around for ages, on TV and radio. Very "percussive" band, I have always liked how every instrument and even the vocals at times seem to have a beat to them.
  7. I thought that was some sort of gay porn fantasy for a minute!! Neil not not kneel.
  8. I think the venue may be the issue. They will want to let the lad get settled in Bristol and a 600 mile round trip with lads he mostly doesn't know wouldn't help that. I don't know where the story of Yeboah having an attitude problem comes from, it's the opposite from what I have been told. He is only playing for U18'S Wednesday because they want to have their best chances of progressing in the youth cup.
  9. I don't know how many Vampire Weekend fans there are in here. I would say 3, but if I am wrong I Stand Corrected.
  10. The quality of player and the number of games played in those days probably accounts for it.
  11. Ian Lavender, "Don't tell 'em Pike". 77. The last of Dad's Army has gone. Yet another alumni from Bristol Old Vic. It seems to me that it's a much underrated centre for artistic talent within Bristol itself, but widely recognised outside the city.
  12. A Nighthawk as opposed to a Nightwatchman.
  13. I think the one certainty about this England side is that no one in the dressing room thinks this.
  14. I don't know which province you are in Tone, but we visited friends down in the Limousin District before COVID, and you could be describing almost every other property down there.
  15. Someone asked where I heard the other song and I said it was interspersed that one. I don't have an issue with that one, I joined in. Jokingly singing about killing people as a lead up to a two minute applause for real deaths, I have an issue with.
  16. Interspersed with "we all hate Leeds scum" for a long period before the applause.
  17. A brilliant 2 minute round of applause for the victims of knife crime, by both sets of supporters. Preceded by 3 or 4 minutes of "You're singing now, we don't know why, cos after the game, you're gonna die".
  18. I use to know someone who helped organise soup kitchens in Bristol in the 00's, she said that they had a very nice lad that used to turn up there and help out and that they kept finding donations of £50 or £100 in their pot throughout that time but couldn't work out who it was. It wasn't until someone saw his picture in the paper that they realised he was a City player, he was pictured because he was being transferred. She wouldn't name the player, apparently he had given a false name to them, so she assumed he didn't want anyone to know and respected that.
  19. Doesn't sound good, might have to rethink my journey.
  20. I hope you are right, but you know what red tape can be like at times, especially over different time zones. Back to the video, he seems a really nice lad and fitted in well. I thought it was interesting that all the Scots lads seemed to know him. There seems to be a really nice vibe about the club as a whole, lots of laughs and smiles. Did I hear him say, he wasn't keen to see out his contract in Belgium? Maybe he didn't find it so welcoming?
  21. This could help us in our negotiations with Tommy, he will know that the Scottish scouts will be here even more now to see if these two could be their future partnership.
  22. No but they have signed a Costa Rican midfield player on loan from Forest. How many loanees do they have now? What's the limit in a match day squad?
