  1. Build it and they will stay at home, mumbling something about the weather...
  2. Why does it seem that the smaller the attendance gets the longer it takes them to count it?
  3. 15 shots at goal, not one on target, that's pretty special.
  4. Does it work for fans as well?
  5. It's picking up here in Posset, if the winds in the right direction it might test just how temporary that roof is :), at the very least it should make them realise what the pillars are for.
  6. Where is the incentive for the owners to invest in further improvements? That's a question they should all be asking themselves, but they're not because they assume that they will do it because they "love the gas, innit".
  7. Also gives the scouts a chance to look at these "others" that Widdrington mentions at a higher level.
  8. I assume what "El Presidente" might have said would be "It's only temporary and eventually we will be looking to replace it with one without pillars. However, if you look at cantilever stands, they require a lot more space at the rear of the construction, do they have that?
  9. Which is acknowledged in the deal surely? If we thought he was ready we would have been reluctant to let him return there on loan. I think the thing that makes this "punt" feel different is that this is a player that has been picked out by lots of others as someone who could make the step up, not some name that seems to have been picked out of a hat or on a whim.
  10. I think it's not so much we don't have anyone in the pipeline per se, more that we haven't produced a playmaker of note. They are the hardest to find.
  11. This made me laugh, after all the excitement and conjecture about 5 figure crowds, this is posted in their "guess the crowd" thread without further comment.
  12. No, I think you are right, I said in an earlier post that they would never admit it, but there are floating fans like students and people working in the area that will just go for their football fix. It's not like they priced it to compete either, wasn't a seat in their new stand about the same as walk up ticket to our game?
  13. Interesting, Manning obviously wants a good look at him. I think he will be impressed by his intelligence as much as anything.
  14. I thought the last 20 minutes was exciting stuff and the crowd responded to that well, including the Watford fans when they got on the break a couple of times.
  15. The problem with that is they have spent years trying to pretend they are better supported by the spurious use of "% of the ground filled", that's why they were actually quite excited when the capacity was reduced. This meant that 7500 was about 90/95% of their potential gate, while our 22k was a mere 80% of our capacity. (See references to gas logic antea) The sudden increase of capacity without the forecast increase in actual supporters will be a disaster for them from this perspective alone. One also has to wonder what incentive there is for the owners to invest in other parts of the ground if there is no discernable increase in attendance and income from that expenditure.
  16. They have a whole thread dedicated to attendances and a competition across the season, which I find bizarre. Someone on there claimed the attendance was 8000 including 500 from Blackpool, and asked where everyone was from Wednesday. They were immediately labelled as a though.
  17. The period after the penalty was poor, the singing stopped just when the players needed picking up as it always seems to. Other than that it wasn't too bad, but then I am on the edge of Section 82 so it always sounds loud when they get going.
  18. Where did you find that? I can't see it anywhere online. Credit where it's due though, the first league attendance over 10,000 in how long? And you know that the away support only come to see the Gas, so they count as well. Oh the irony of their gates finally increasing as they plummet down the table.
  19. I am very pleased you are not in charge then. Is that right? How many more goals have we conceded since NP left? Genuine question. As for Zak yesterday, people seem to forget there are two teams on the pitch and I thought Watford's press was excellent and I thought Williams didn't do him or Dickie any favours by blocking passing lanes but not offering an alternative. That also had the knock on effect that Max had to go back to those punts out to Cam or Ross which look really bad when they don't come off, and nobody notices when they do.
  20. Lovely header too. Probably should have scored a second in the second half though. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/13052720/newport-county-1-0-wrexham-league-two-highlights
  21. It's weird, as far as I can see their crowd is the only one not on the BBC pages, what are they hiding? Will they have more than Newport County in League 2 (9500+)?
  22. Promotion chasing gas ©Bristol Live, 15 points off promotion and 11 off relegation places.
  23. Funny how players suddenly seem to find space in the box when the delivery improves.
