From the Argyle forum: rgobenz Post subject: What a thoroughly horrible club. Posted: Sat Mar 17, 2018 5:57 pm Joined: Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:29 am Location: PLYMOUTH What a thoroughly horrible club Bristol Rovers are, no-one likes loosing and the banter is part of the game. But when you have grown men and women trying to break the cordon, to fight Argyle fans just because they are losing, damn Neanderthals! I hope they get a large fine and a few score banning orders, you can stick your GAS where the sun don't shine you horrible lot.

Gas fans unimpressed by recent interview with Wael where he outlines the planned ground improvements at the Mem: We are having a new shop and toilets.Defo ready for the Championship now. He also says he can't give a timescale for the job as it is "such a lot of work"

Hull City v Bristol City Match Day Thread 19

I feel that we should win this one but then the last person to score for us there was Leroy Lita , our record against them is appalling. -
I get the impression that the family gave Wael (the youngest son) Bristol Rovers as a toy to play with to keep him clear of their bank. Not sure the rest of the family have any interest in BRFC so the bank connection doesn't count for much.

There has obviously been a big bust-up internally with Des Taylor following Pembo out on the same day, we'll probably never know what happened but it doesn't sound like it was a planned move. Pembo turned things around for us before LJ came in, during the 6 games he was in charge the defence suddenly became miserly, I'm sure he will be missed. Some on here say as defensive coach he must bear some responsibility for the defensive problems we've had this season but LJ picks who plays and the tactics so I think that's a bit unfair. I'm sure Pembo won't be out of work for long.

It will be interesting to see the team selection today following LJ's comments about changes. With Bryan suspended Golbourne likely to come in (a better defender imo), I wonder if Engvall will play a part or even start, maybe as a wide player instead of Pattison? I also expect O'Dowda to figure somewhere, might he rest Tomlin to the bench to fire him up a bit?

We've done a lot better than in the same fixture last season. However, done again on a set piece. Apart from Tomlin's free kicks around the box we don't score enough from them (eg 12 corners today) whereas other teams get most of their goals that way rather than from fantastic flowing football. We play lots of pretty football but still end up losing away from home, we need to learn how to grind out results in away games, we're currently a soft touch. Also need to score when we're on top, with Tammy having a bit of a lean patch someone else needs to step up to the plate.
