Liam Walsh, Bas Savage………., -
Great loan for him and his interview with them was very impressive, all about looking to learn from players and staff.

Louis Britton has his say ....

I think there’s a strange obsession with the lad in comparison with others we have released. If we’d released him and he had his pick of six or seven clubs I could understand the general sentiment which seems to be we’ve made a monumental error releasing him. He could go on to prove the club wrong but if I was him I’d button it and get on with the job of proving it…., -

I think quite a few on here must know him or something. -

…………is definitely how it reads to fans who aren’t friends or family of his or his old man. -

To be honest I think the lad would be better keeping his powder dry until he actually achieves something notable in football that gives him the right to shout his mouth off. -

I suppose the obvious question is what has the kid done since? -

Surprised that Sheffield United and West Brom didn’t come back in for him………… -
You can add me to that tiny minority. Certainly never thought promotion was anywhere near when not if.

Bakinson Joins Sheffield Wednesday - Official
Numero Uno replied to GrahamC's topic in Football Chat
Talent isn’t enough to play at the top levels of the game though. At some point the kid has got to wake up. Why do Scott, Conway, Bell, Benarous and Towler get minutes despite the level being difficult for them at times yet this kid with a lot more experience than them gets canned? The proof of the pudding for me will be whether he starts 30+ times next season and is then established in the Wednesday midfield the season after…… To be a bit of a prima Donna and still get picked and tolerated by the staff you have to make some massive contribution to the team. Never saw that from Tyreeq tbh. -

100% it is an attitude issue and nothing else. Take Vyner who is struggling to come to terms with what it takes at Championship level. Hasn’t been made to train with the 23’s and still getting his fair whack of pre-season minutes despite being down the list of likely starters. Nobody can claim he’s been unfairly treated. That tells me enough about the lad’s attitude………..and everything about Bakinson’s too. -
In my opinion the Goalkeeping in women’s football is improving but across the board not at the same rate as the outfield play AT THE MOMENT. Seventeen players in the six yard box at every corner the other night is an example of that. It’s an obvious statement by the coaches and not a tactic commonly used in the mens game because most keepers will deal with it and those that can’t fall by the wayside. Even the female commentators remarked on it as a difference in tactics tbf. Earps was good the other night but still came for two or three crosses that she got nowhere near, the sort of thing people on here would be up in arms about if it was Bentley in a league game. In that regard Millie Bright is a huge player for England because she gets her head on everything loaded into the box……..she has to. The one keeper I’ve seen actively looking to dominate and really impressed me so far is the Dutch keeper despite being their number 2.

Firstly I did enjoy last night particularly the way Spain knocked the ball around for 70 minutes. They played some lovely football before their coach had a brain freeze and decided sitting back was a better plan than controlling the possession. They were significantly more accomplished in possession than England on the night. I generally don’t compare Women’s and Mens football particularly from a pace and power perspective where it is simply unfair and pointless to do so. However tactically and technically the women’s game has improved massively and the game is unrecognisable from 20 years ago and credit to all for that. The remaining elephant in the room is that technically the Goalkeeping has not improved at the same speed as the outfield play. Pointing out individual errors from men doesn’t alter that. Unfortunately for her the Spanish keeper made two basic positioning and footwork errors for the England winner meaning her dive had nowhere near enough height to pull off a straightforward enough save from a great but relatively central strike. A GK coach will be far more pissed off with that than if she had made a handling error and conceded cos that happens with the very best not just average keepers. The problem seems to be that you are not allowed to point out anything negative after watching a ladies game although it’s ok for the posters who get outraged at any criticism of a woman player to verbally abuse Zak Vyner every week cos he’s a bloke……

Yes, still a massive weakness overall. I know I really shouldn’t compare and I’ve said before the mens and women’s games are totally different but Bentley HOLDS the winner last night, not just saves it. The goal just looked wrong regardless of the quality of the strike. However, the young Dutch keeper who got chucked in due to injury looks really impressive and unusually comes for crosses (the nearest I’ve seen that plays like a bloke) and the Austrian keeper very decent too. England’s keeper is a shot stopper and really doesn’t want to come for a high ball unless she has to.

Is the "Unlucky Da Shit" bloke and his son on the mural? They are important in Gas history........

Unfortunately there will always be idiots but their idiocy shouldn’t be a bar to sensible people (who wish to) enjoy a bit of hot weather. Instead of stay in and don’t travel the message should go out and travel if you like but use the brain you were born with and be sensible about it. Anyone who is stupid enough to start a fire in the scenario you suggest should be invoiced the costs of dealing with it.
