  1. Top six I tell you, top six. But top six at what? Giving poor goals away, failing to take chances, etc etc
  2. I bet you can hear the laughter from down Somerset in Yorkshire this afternoon
  3. At least he has realised that, unlike he thought (as we were led to believe), Mehmeti can’t hack it at this level
  4. He will live or die by this. Over next three games we need 6 points, and 3 or less puts both Manning and the team in dangerous territory. Really beginning to see LJ all over again, sadly
  5. One important issue is not what the fans think, unless we go on a disastrous run of results, possible of course, but what the players make of Manning, his methods, his team set ups, etc etc. This is where it could go badly wrong.
  6. Are we really happy that Manning is given transfer funds if we are on a losing streak and BT chooses the new players? Better to keep it for the summer when I dream of new owners bringing Nige back! I can dream can’t I? Because daydreaming is all many of us fans feel we have left.
  7. I agree with a lot of this but do not believe attendances will stay at current level. Living at a great distance, attending is very costly and I now won’t make the effort until there is definite hope of seeing a victory at home. I feel that Manning is back to the only too common phenomenon of mediocre managers we have had over the years. Nige was a breath of fresh air in that respect. Utterly disillusioned with the sheer incompetence of JL and BT (a previous manager who wasn’t even mediocre). Oh dear.
  8. Seems to me that the boy in charge, JL, has appointed another boy, Manning, whilst sacking a real man/manager in Nige. I fear for our immediate future
  9. If the players are, in your words, to get with the program, then Manning will have to up his man management skills pdq.
  10. Classic newly appointed manager mistake - in whatever field, ie comes in with his own plan, abandons previous plan, and wonders why the staff/players can’t adapt. Man management skills appear not to be finely honed. The terrible question going thro my mind is ‘ is he out of his comfort zone’. The comment about ‘culture’ in relation to the players rather makes my point for me. There was nothing wrong with Nige’s man management abilities nor the culture he established, see for example Scott’s view of him.
  11. We had hope in Nige and respect for what he achieved Some on here say Manning must be given two windows to get in the players who fit his style That is not what JL and BT said. As I understand it Manning was to come in and get an underperforming team to perform. Can foresee early crisis inJanuary transfer window.
  12. I am now fearful that LM might not be able to prevent a slide own the table. His record prior to Oxford does not inspire confidence. I felt, on the other hand, that Nige would continue to work miracles to keep us lower mid table. SL, JL, and BT can’t escape criticism across the board now.
  13. Oh dear. So dreadful and now little hope for fans ’We are doomed, I tell you doomed’ Can anyone see us making play offs, cause I certainly can’t. If a new manager can’t force a draw at home against a poor side, what does that tell us?
  14. Sorry, I now see no improvement on what Nige would have achieved. His services were dispensed with, as we all know, because' he spoke his mind I feel genuinely sorry for LM who was sold a pig in a poke by JL, and BT Don’t folks, expect promotion anytime soon (ie as long as Lansdown’s hang on)
  15. That is my point, he is being picked because there is no one else
  16. Remember Tanner had been bought by Nige for the future. He is playing because our lack of depth forces two managers to play him
  17. Well LM will definitely now know what Nige was up against. You can train as much as you like, but the players then have to replicate on the pitch. You can bring subs on,only given they improve performances.
  18. I guess Sykes taken off for an injury as a precaution
  19. Weimann is finished at this level, imo. Bet we hang on to him next season tho, as he won’t raise funds and Lansdowns won’t release funds. Cotts era on repeat now
