Maybe not a gamble if Curtis knows today is the final postscript to the Nige era. Going all out for a solid victory with Nige’s squad and to hell the inheritance left for the incoming coach next week seems entirely feasible to me -
Anyone else thought Lampard may already have regretted his interest and withdrawn his application or turned down an offer?
-
What a shame last week ended in defeat, giving the Ls a window of opportunity to implement Tinnion’s plan. Players returning in numbers this afternoon would have made argument about poor results the nonsense it always was
-
The huge gulf between NP and owners is that single word in Nige’s message to us fans ……. CUSTODIAN
-
The failure to back Nige, even with a top ten budget, is as indicative of Lansdowns lack of interest in promotion; just as it was at the January window in GJ’s play off final season. I just don’t understand where the Ls are coming from
-
If Nige’s health was a/the reason for his sacking that is truly a dreadful management move. In fact it would be despicable

So pleased my little piece of whimsy has generated so many responses taking off in all directions. Hope you all enjoyed the discussions and banter.

It occurs to me that SL is vulnerable to attacks on his ego. How about unofficially renaming The Lansdown Stand The Nigel Pearson Stand; and when new owners arrive lobby for the unofficial name to be made official.

If Lampard is appointed it will be another David James appointment, ie the Lansdowns blinded by a so called star name. If Jody Morris comes as well then that really says everything, and none of that is good. Interesting statement from Swindon when he was sacked in May, as it is virtually same reason given by JL on sacking of Nige, ie failure to take club where owners wanted it to be, and that was League 2 not The Championship. You really couldn’t make this stuff up.

We’ve already seen once; and once was more than enough
-
Whoever it turns out to be it will be underwhelming He will inevitably be a ‘yes’ man as the Lansdowns simply can’t cope with a person with an independent mind Plus remember Coppell and Cotterill, as well as Nige. It is unlikely anyone with anything about them would take this poisoned chalice - plenty of other managerial posts available at present and likely more before New Year. I don’t think whoever is appointed they will last beyond Xmas 2024 Sad times for City

The report on u21 game suggests BT was in charge. Anyone there can confirm or deny this?
