  1. If we keep it to 2-0 it will be brilliant result.
  2. Is SL there? If not, shameful; if yes I fear for old Nige
  3. This is truly ridiculous. The squad is too small by Championship standards. If Nige is sacked then hello league 1 in short order. Why are we so badly run as a club. Two decades of treading water in a city our size is sad and, imo, unnecessary. New blood and new money required asap
  4. I remember the days when Harry Dolman came to every game, even when things weren’t going well. He also sat there in the old New Stand when fans came up and shouted in his face. What different and, very arguably, better times. Wish we had old Harry back - after all, in the end, he DID deliver top level football. Of course I am well aware SL can’t attend often given his interesting tax status - in my view a problem in itself
  5. Absolutely amazing after NP remarks about his job that the Chairman, or owner, have failed to respond. I think NP is justified in walking, taking no redundancy and instead spilling the beans for a big chunk of money from Sky. We are all behind you Nige
  6. This is all so sad after Nige has pulled the club up by its bootstraps. To fall back now would be one of the worst mistakes, if not THE worst, the club management have made in well over a century. if anyone knows the PM persuade him to give SL a knighthood or peerage, and then we will be shot of a man not fit to be the face of our wonderful Bristol City. He clearly only has his own interests, not the club’s, at heart - whether that be money or honours.
  7. I am horrified at how this club is run. Absentee Chair, non existent Board, and tax avoiding owner. Time for the Lansdowns to go after two decades of failure and now, judging from Nige’s comments, threatening the best manager I have seen in over 7 decades of following City. If Nige is in effect sacked shall support Torquay until we have a new owner. Hope Nige reads all the positive comments here. Can’t imagine what a rough reception any replacement will receive. Doubt anyway if Nige is sacked anyone with anything about them would wish to come here. Get behind the best manager we have ever had, folks
  8. I just can’t imagine where we would be in the league with this squad without Nige. Do wake up and smell the coffee, SL, before some other club seeking promotion offer Nige a contract he can’t turn down. Very poor managerial skills, but hey ho it is what we have come to expect.
  9. Great result from cobbled together side. Shows the importance of esprit de corps. Well done Nige and the coaching staff.
  10. Think, from what NP has said, Conway will play as a traditional no9, with Weimann and Bell on the wings, and Sykes in no10role. Possibly, however, Weimann and Sykes may swap the positions I have assigned them Whatever, I trust in Nige COYR
  11. Well done, Nige Selection, best you could have done in the circumstances But the circumstances are not good. Too thin a squad, and we all know who is to blame for that, Mr ‘I don’t really want to get to the PL’ Lansdown.
  12. The fault lies not with the players or coaches but with the owner, who blinded by hubris sought to run rugby, football, women’s football and basketball with inadequate funds. Had he concentrated on one sport then he would have had the success that in this age buys success. Some of us were never convinced by the idea of Bristol Splrt. How right we were
  13. As a Bristolian living in a different part of the country for over half a century, this has all the marks to me, as an historian, of a typical Little Bristol attitude which we have seen too much of in our city’s story.
  14. It is highly unlikely at any point in any season we will have a fit first choice 11. Our failure, or SL’s, is we lack quality in depth. Can’t see that being resolved anytime soon. Has been a major problem since promotion to this level. This is definitely not a fault to be laid at NP’s door
  15. What do we take from this? Need another goalie to compete with Max Cornick and Mehmeti not going to deliver for us. Williams also is not consistent enough, plus temperament? We miss Atkinson and Vyner enormously We need another scoring forward as well as TC Still need a commanding centre half
  16. King can still produce a Premier quality pass. Just wish he was five years younger.
  17. Now SL show you actually mean what you have said for decades about promotion, and let Nige build a team around Tommy. So first thing you need to do this month is extend contract and pay to Nige and Tommy. Please don’t fail us again. We’d be half way to playoffs if you had kept Scott and bought a decent centre half Keep the faith, people, with Nige. Best manager, bar none, in 8 decades following City
  18. Tommy, Tommy. We have our star now City for goodness sake concentrate
  19. When he doesn’t fall backwards into his own net, perhaps
  20. Oh for goodness sake. As said above same old, same old City
  21. That is what we’ve been missing. A goal scoring no 9 Well done, Tommy COYR. Don’t mess up now.
  22. Better from City. Need to make it count. PS please remove this ref from this level of football
  23. Trouble is he is not a striker so playing him as a no 9 is never, imo, going to work
