10 corners in the first half. Is that a record?

We’ve played well since their goal. Encouraging.

Playing Weimann at wing back is trying to be clever and lacks any sense of logic, especially when Sykes and Tanner both fit.
He wasn’t trying to be clever. He decided that he needed to play 3 in midfield and 2 upfront rather than 2 with 1+2 which we had been playing. Wells and Conway up front with 3 in midfield (Williams, Scott, James) leaves no place for Weimann. If you think it’s worth shoehorning him in to the team for what he can offer then it has to be at wing back.
Against Millwall be decided that he wanted to go back to 2, 1+2.
Seems pretty simple to me.

We've deserved to win a lot of games
Hull
Wigan
Blackpool
Burnley/Norwich deserved at least draws
Coventry
Swansea
Sheff Utd
Watford
Stoke
Millwall
Win half of those games we deserved to win and we're comfortably in the play offs.
At the moment we must be one of the unluckiest teams there is. We don't win games we should win. We don't get penalties we should get. We sometimes don't even pick up points from games we should win. We are constantly battling with injuries. Kalas and Baker both being out were huge blows.
Whilst our position in the league isn't great. We are not where we should be. Bit more luck in some of those games and it's all good. I try to not lose sight of that. There is good happening behind the scenes, it's just not quite showing in the results.
On top of our poor luck, we very rarely pick up points or wins in games where we don't deserve it. We don't get any smash and grabs. Middlesbrough is one of the only ones I can think of. We don't tend to get battered either. Birmingham is one of the only ones I can think of.
I don't like to blame everything on luck but all of that is rather bizarre.
I agree with much of this. Our problem has been that we’re not always good enough in both boxes. Ultimately that is where the game is decided. We were better defensively last night which is encouraging. Atkinson was good in the centre. Maybe things are simplified for him there.

Scrappy game, but we look up for it. Cautiously encouraging

I only want managers out because they are not very good and holding our club back.
Unfortunately, the last few we have had have been rubbish which is why people like me have been quite vocal.
Until we get a decent manager in who is taking us forward, I will continue to moan.
I think that shows I care about the club.
I don’t think it shows you care about the club. It’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but by your definition those that don’t agree with you care less than you??
I think the club is moving forward under NP. I accept that results are mixed and he has made mistakes, but in my opinion lots that is going on is good. To me it feels like he is working to a blueprint and is pushing the players to show that they are worthy of being part of our future. I have absolutely no problem with that, and this narrative of him throwing players under the bus etc is nonsense. All he has done as I see it, is to make decisions about who should be in the team/squad. It’s what he is paid for!! It’s easy with the gift of hindsight to decide that he got it wrong. Amazing how good some players become when they’re not in the team. There have also been plenty of occasions when OTIB has gone into meltdown when the team has been announced only for the team to play well and win.
The first part of the season was as good as we’ve been for a number of years. Things have undoubtedly dropped off and hopefully the squad can be freshened up with some trading/ loans in January.
Keep the faith. Let’s give Pearson the next two windows and see where that takes us. I firmly believe it will be top ten.

You are one of the more prolific contributors to this forum, who I did consider a very sensible poster until this bizarre move.
Starting this thread (which does have some valid discussion within) with the title you did is clearly misleading and a very silly thing to do imo.
A title like “Nige gone, Euell in temporary charge” normally would only be used if an announcement had been made by the club/on the OS. With a title like that, the thread will automatically generate views and reacts regardless of whether this is a poster’s aim or not.
I just feel it seems a bit wrong that a misleading thread title will get this level of interaction. Newer visitors to the forum may look at a posters views/reacts as an indicator of their repute.
Either re-name the thread or delete it (mods?)
Wow.
Great user name.

That's the issue though, managers being given crap situations and told they come in aware of that with a plan to turn it around but get sacked before they get to the point where they can actually act on their plans. I still believe that Pearson plan is to make it to the summer where he can actually rebuild us with a lot of players going out freeing up the finances to make those changes.
The issue is that fans get resless because we're underperforming but we're probably underperforming because so many players haven't been offered the contracts they were hoping for. I think that's where Pearson has lost the dressing room, having 7 players offered new contracts on less wages and 3 players basically being told "you're out". It doesn't matter who comes in that's the situation and although it's not been created by Pearson or his future replacement it has been created by the poor way the club was being run and the players know that.
I think we'll see a lot of players leave come the summer, the difference will be in who will be replacing them, Pearson who had been here long enough to know where we are struggling and what he's wanted from day 1 or a new guy who will only have had a short amount of months to fully assess everything and he'll need to have made a shortlist of players that he can get for next to nothing.
Pearson is agreed to the job, he's in it for the long run, if he's sacked then the new guy will know he'll be losing key players, know that we've got a large number of players running out of contract and knowing he needs to potentially sign 6-7 players with no money. Who in their right mind would look at a club who's never been Premier League with all those issues and go "yeah, that's the job I want, along with whatever other debts get added when Pearson leaves"?
I think as it stands January is where we will see if Pearson can get a few deals done to help the squad out which could potentially get us through this season without being relegated but regardless whoever takes over is going to inherit at least 5-7 disgruntled players who may not have a future with us regardless of what he does.
It’s probably a minority opinion, but I think we’re more likely to go down if we get rid if NP. Some changes are needed. I hope we can find a way to do some business in Jan.

Most wingers did when I use to play
Unknown to me I was known as the sniper when I played full back. I’m short so the story was that you couldn’t always see me in the long grass, but the winger would always go down.
I don’t think I would last long these days.

We may still end up on the wrong end of the result. But this is want I want to see from my team.

Didn’t he break a leg / ankle and use that “gym-time” to realky build up the explosiveness in his legs?
Yep. Would often see him squatting serious weight in the gym.

I’m guessing that this is the sort of stuff that Pearson is talking about when he says there are players he can’t trust. With our key players on the pitch these gaps would not be allowed to happen.
It frustrates me when people look at these kind of things and draw the conclusion that we are poorly coached. There is no way the players are being coached to perform like this, or to take up those positions.
Ultimately, we need 4/5 solid consistent championship players to supplement the squad. Impossible without player trading, which means losing one of the Crown Jewels.
If we can get through to the summer, there is a big opportunity to reshape the squad. As Gould and Pearson mentioned at the FF, we are predominantly looking at OOC players. I would be happy to move most of ours on.
I know many have got to the end of the road with Nige, but I’m sticking with him for now. I hope that players coming back after the WC will make a difference. (Especially Naismith, Kalas and Benarous) and we can improve our form. That may reduce the blood pressure of some my favourite bedwetters, so they can at least look forward to 2023.

It's the very first question i would ask NP. at the Fan's Forum.............what have you got against Cameron Pring? And are you sleeping with Jay?
Are you going to the fan’s forum @maxjak?
Can someone video Nigel’s response. I think it might be a classic.

Great news. Although to be fair, he won’t be dislodging Vyner on current form.

Some good deliveries at times. Coventry not looking too secure. 10 more in the second half and we might force a save
