Best Albums of 2019

And Its Smith

Recommended Posts

Time to do this again? Feel like it’s been a pretty good year overall but would love to see a new top guitar band (of the indie variety) emerge as feel like it’s been a while and that’s a genre missing from the top end of album lists over recent years

In no particular order my list of best albums for this year is

One of the Best Yet - Gang Starr

No Place for Patience/Big Fan of the Sesh/A World Without Snooze- Biig Piig

Kiwanuka - Michael Kiwanuka

The Lost Arc - The Achievers

Miss Universe - Nilufer Yanya

American Love Call - Durand Jones and the Indications

Cuz I Love You - Lizzo

Foreplay - Mild Orange

I wasn't expecting to see someone post this!

Amazing hip-hop collaboration and an even better name.

Albums of the year then

Krafty Kuts & Chali 2na - Adventures of a Reluctant Superhero

Koan Sound - Polychrome

Chase & Status - Return ii Jungle

Jeez.........................it’s a definite a sign of ageing when you’ve never heard  of any of them.

Now if this thread was about best albums of the 70s..............:cool2:

Don't worry it's not an age thing, the majority of people my age would only know Chase & Status on that list. Koan Sound are pretty legendary in Bristol, but only if you are into experimental electronic music.

Robbored - I know you've no cred on this forum,  just invent a few titles e.g.

Urology  - Nailsea Piss Boys

Blubber - Whales Finest

That'll get them searching the vinyl racks

Oi Muggins, I'm from Nailsea !!
