SouthStand Sandwich
Agreed. Pearce is great... You can tell he's city thru & thru... Made a nice change from chemical ali robins tv presenter. The lady co commentator was tops as well...
ralphindevon
I thought they were both good too. A reminder if anyone hasn’t listened to it yet, a very good and rare interview on OSIB with JP. In the hour and a half he mentions just about every City player from the 70s as well as great stories about Pele and Bobby Moore amongst others. Well worth a listen
RedG
Better listening to him than watching the game sadly

Yep I know he's a city fan, if I hadn't then I would have known from tonight's game! Agree, thought it was awful. Constantly rambling about random things
David Brent
Much more preferable to what we normally put up with on Robins TV Still not great though
spudski
He's like what Peter Allis was to golf. It's comforting to listen to. Informative. I don't need commentators to tell me what's going on the pitch...I can see for myself. With radio it's different. Can't stand over excited about commentators. Would much rather listen to Pearce. Rossi the Robin
If the game is a belter you don’t really care about the commentator. Unfortunately we don’t have belters anymore

Spot on. He might come across as old school to some but he knows his stuff and he loves the game. It's a bonus that City are very close to his heart. Enjoyed that tonight. Great on Robot Wars as well!

redsquirrel
he sold the club well tonight, even said club needs more investment into the squad to reach the top 6. everything he said was very factual, in fairness to him,had he had to stick to the match, there would have been a lot of gaps
The Bard
He's excellent. And Rachel Finnis Brown was good too. Thought they bounced off each other pretty well. She called us out pretty well without being overly critical.

Alex_BCFC
A lot better than Robins TV - no fake crowd noises that sound terrible too. I do think the BBC are just having a female co-commentator for the sake of it and she didn't add anything.

grifty
I like his knowledge about the current teams, but needs to stop with the constant 1970s throwbacks of name dropping. Might have been interesting to the over 80s. Also, this happens on every single channel we are on, BBC, SKY, Robins TV, why do we have to miss half the game with looking at close ups of managers, players who have just had a shot and are invariably spitting on the floor and then 4 replays of shots that go nowhere near the ball? Just like Eric Morecombe did many years ago when, as a director of Luton Town, he was in the BBC commentary team for Luton v City. Great to listen to even for City fans. Absolutely hilarious! Bedred31
Worth staying up for that MOD analysis. The one positive is that they avoided referring to us as ‘Bristol’ by the simple expedient of not referring to us at all. Literally.
