  1. I think the question we should ask ourselves is who would we swap him with because I am struggling to want anyone else at this level with the constraints we have
  2. Think he will be a decent signing, we certainly looked better down the right hand side. He could definitely be a good option in CM, such a shame that McCrorie is out as believe he was going to be an asset going forward with his energy. Don’t understand why he kept taking corners and free kicks, they were flat Matty James type deliveries, Naismith has to be on set pieces with that wand of a left foot. Best left foot since a certain Brian Tinnion IMO.
  3. Best manager in the championship, as are lucky to have him. Southampton mates would love to have him back, with money he would win the league. Nice to see us tying down Pring, Vyner but next on the list needs to be at least another 12 months for Nigel. He builds club success and surely is ticking all the boxes the owner has ever asked for….academy talent pathway to the first team, working within budgets, selling when required and coaching average players to be better. I just don’t get why we think in current climate and wage bill restrictions that we can get anyone better. Sign up Nigel now!
  4. He played well yesterday but he needs to find consistency. Swansea were a very poor side and they made it fairly easy for us. We always play well against sides who don’t sit back. Which is why we need more creative players to break down stubborn defences. Not taking away anything but we need to see some better consistency.
  5. That was class, well done Nige, best manager we’ve had since Danny Wilson. But again showed that if we had gone for it yesterday with a couple more including a striker we would be really up there.
  6. Naismith should be in midfield over Williams with Dickie at CB. Other than that little options to change up. Still not convinced by Bell, I’m thinking a Pring/Roberts combo would be stronger and give an edge.
  7. The Exiled Robin on Twitter is getting all the likes from BT on what a great window we have had. Appears to me there is a divide happening with just Nigel and the fans feeling frustrated over the window. Not sure BT should be liking fan posts as a senior employee of the club to be honest. Imagine that happening at Arsenal or Man C! It wouldn’t.
  8. I’m just not a happy clapper! I refuse to accept second best in life, treading water isn’t fun, it’s dull. As I said before, it gets more frustrating when every game is an away game, aside from London matches I travel six hour round trips home and away to watch us. Believe me if you don’t have to do that it makes it less painful.
  9. Hope we win today as if we lose and lose badly I can only imagine what Nige press conference will be like. Come on City, let’s go out and with a positive performance today. 2K of us travelling early.
  10. No matter how bad or frustrated we can be, imagine how they must feel! Can always rely on the Gas to cheer us up! ?
  11. Let’s hope he doesn’t now go back to the player he was before and get too comfy. No doubt Nigel has improved him massively.
  12. Left a disappointing taste in the mouth the way they have announced this. Good to see him sign but to try and make out its positive news amid a very disappointing end to the window is something else! Zak actually deserved it to be announced on a different day. Anyway window is shut now, let’s get on with it.
  13. Haha, an owner that actually speaks to the fans!
  14. We are missing a massive opportunity by not investing in the squad. We deserve as fans to hear from the board, it’s not fair or acceptable for the hard working manager to have to continue to deal with questions from the media when it’s not his decision. Need to see some leadership and comms. How we miss Geoff Twentyman.
  15. Or indeed who are you? Thought this was supposed to be a progressive CEO appointment. How Richard Gould is being missed. Could say the same for Jon Lansdown. You can get a strong indication from the messages Tinnion likes on Twitter that the consensus outside of management and fans seem to be that we have a good squad and a positive window. How naive! Certainly feels the fans have no say or respect being shown especially when we are one of the most expensive clubs to watch at this level.
  16. Pearson should just walk. I would. An absolute farce from the owners and board. Disgusting way to treat the management and fans.
  17. I agree. Staying up is important this year as I cannot see us bettering 14th with the injuries we have and lack of depth. Nigel will keep us up but any stupid decision from the board could see relegation.
  18. Probably bored. He took over as chairman from Laycock in 2003 ish I believe, that is 20 plus years. A shame he doesn’t go back to his ‘Ask SL’ thread on here. Was so open then. Different times.
  19. Naismith interview interesting. Mentions injuries we have and fact we only have one number 9 in Nakhi. Another who seems disappointed we haven’t strengthened.
  20. See what happens on Saturday. Would be unfair and crazy to end it after 5 games!
  21. Check out the likes on Twitter then to posts around how good our business has been etc……
  22. Why am I getting the feeling of another Danny Wilson exit situation here with someone involved.
  23. Is a takeover brewing here? Is that why for the first time in 10 years or so we haven’t had a SL interview for first game? Silence from new CEO. It’s all very very odd. Unless they have decided to sack Nige in the Int Break? Whatever happens if we sign nobody tomorrow as it seems then beware the backlash of the fans. In Nigel we trust and he will be the one we support!
  24. Fair enough but not sure I agree with all your comments above (that’s the joy of football). I am OK keeping him as a squad player but feel we need better in the midfield and if the only way is to be trading players then so be it. Aside from him and it Wells/Cornick, I can’t think of many who we can realistically move on to upgrade. But as we’ve said many times, this shouldn’t even be an issue, it’s down to SL.
  25. Interesting as I just don’t see it with Williams. I think he’s been a massive disappointment and one I would be keen to move on. His passing is array, injury prone and offers no goal threat. I thought we had signed a prime Ben Pearson type but how wrong we were albeit the injury he had probably curtailed this. He seems a great guy and clearly passionate, but if there was a chance to upgrade or trade he for me is the obvious one.
