Yes I do because that's my opinion.

These results were coming because we could not keep relying on luck.

I had Blackpool and Forest games as us deserving a point in each.

We controlled the first half against Blackpool and they deserved the equaliser in the end. They coped fine with us second 45 and had some decent chances. Pearson made the wrong in game changes in that game that lost us 2 points imo.

Forest were the better side against us imo but even saying that I am generously saying a point would have been fair. Obviously we had bad luck with 2 decisions penalty and 2nd goal, they had bad luck with the 1 penalty not given to them.

We had not deserved to be leading imo but then we have to make the right choices to see out the game. We sat back, brought on Palmer which was the wrong move. Looked all over the place and kept giving up possession.

A goal was coming. We could all see it. 2nd had bad luck but again so unorganised to let them happen in the first place.

I think your correct. The performances have been poor consistently or 90 minutes consistency has been poor, whichever you prefer really. I think it was O’driscoll who use to talk about performance ahead of results, because he knew that sooner or later bad performances would catch up with you & I think that’s what we’re seeing now. But at the time I seem to recall a lot of fans ridiculing him for that thought process, because it was all about the result. Good football man is O’driscoll, just misunderstood. COYR

The most annoying thing about the Kalas long throw is that you want Kalas on the end of it!!

Surely, there's another player that could chuck it in.   What about Vyner yesterday?

Or, maybe get a full back to take it, get some movement off of each other ( almost as if it’s planned/coached! ), throw it to their feet & receive it back & therefore keep possession. Just a thought. COYR

So, the general tone tonight is:

    - sack Pearson

What happens next then?  What are the consequences of that action?  What is solved by that action?

Personally don’t think sacking him is the answer, but I’m not sure what is either. He inherited a mess & I mean as a club, not just the playing side on the back of the financial disaster that is Covid. Has he tried to change too much too soon? Medical side, two assistants gone, new assistant in mid season, U23’s coach promoted, moving into the you know what centre, loaning out system quashed, squad overhaul. But after all this, his team ( I don’t buy into all this ‘other people’s players nonsense’ ) are under performing, this group is potentially 10th - 12th standard imo. So that falls at his & the players door. I’ve not been overly impressed with any of his new signings from the little I’ve seen which is another worry, but I’m never one for sacking managers, unless they seem out of their depth, which in reality we know he isn’t. Maybe we just have to ride out the storm to see the next sunny day. So that’s my answer, hang on tight! COYR

Nobody wants the ball, we rush playing it forward, hot potato, noone can beat a man  its sideways..... lump it up to Chris martin, hope....... then defend.

Absolutely this. It’s a very worrying trait imo. Less than a handful actually look comfortable on the ball, in fact I’d say 3 from what I’ve seen & two of those are not regular starters. The old adage ‘ it’s easier to run with the ball, than without it’ springs to mind. COYR

  5. With all the late equalisers/winners and lack of tracking back or some might say ‘general effort’. Does anyone else wonder about this new fitness regime we are under? When the body tires, so does the mind, it might explain the switching off late in games. Apparently fitter than ever, can jump vertically better than Peter Rabbit etc etc. Now the injuries are seemingly creeping in again as well. Just a thought. COYR

Thats a hell of a lot for our level. Im assuming some contracts include relegation wage drop clauses.

Having watched the crap so far,  I’m presuming we are only paying League One wages! COYR

Depends if they have someone lined up, could be they've spent a few weeks looking, if someone comes in straight away they've got the international break to get to know the squad.

I think this is exactly it. COYR

It's all because we cannot keep hold of the ball. Our possession if awful. So we have to expend vast amounts of energy running around trying to close the opposition down.

By the time the game gets halfway through the second half, our players are blowing out their arses.

By the time we get to time added on, we have absolutely naff all to give.

This is our biggest problem imo. People can talk about winning 50/50’s & smacking into people etc etc, but sometimes just getting on the bloody ball & picking a pass, keeping the ball is the bravest thing of all. From what I’ve seen, too many haven’t got the belief or ability to get on the bloody thing. When we do have it, it’s sloppy. No pace in the pass, behind the players stride, onto the players weaker foot, up around his midriff & as for throw ins ( feet & ******* back!!! not nipples & back! ). Get on the bloody ball, stick your chest out & play to feet, move, be dynamic & have some bloody urgency. I’ve never understood a footballer of any standard not wanting to get on the ball. But everyone loves Tanner because he made a few block tackles.

We should never have expected him to be able to step up to this level so soon.

Likewise Vyner has never looked confident and I’ve no idea where the player who wore JD’s shirt last season has gone?

But against all this, the midfield offer no cover - inc HNM who has been part of this mess for too long as well.

That’s the least you can do when you keep giving the ball away & that could go for a few others that have been getting away with the same level of criticism that for example Vyner had been receiving. COYR

Updated to date, after I posted it on a match thread a couple of games ago.....

Dean Holden (Numpty who should never have been appointed)

    P36, W16, L17 PPG 1.42.

Nigel Pearson (the experienced manager that everyone wanted)
    P32, W7, L18, PPG 0.875

Just out of interest, do you know what Johnson’s was? COYR

….and in the same interview, words to the affect of “stopping the root cause”, the initial pass with little pressure.  We’d not parked the bus at all this season.  The above quote would not lead me to think we were gonna park the bus tomorrow.

Do you have a source at the training ground….quite a few “IMOs”, which is like adding a ? to a post?  Nobody is gonna ask you who, but you post things like above, which you’ve taken from an interview yet imply in other posts you have some inside knowledge.  That’s fine if you do btw.

As above, we’ve yet to park the bus this season, and I honestly can’t remember when that has been our intention.

Not convinced Vyner is at fault.  It was him that chased a long ball into the bottom left wing corner, laying it to Bentley to clear to Gardner. ⬇️

Gardner strides on, Atkinson starts to engage ⬇️ Vyner not in picture yet, having been in corner.

Gardner plays it wide, Atkinson marking him / closest to him ⬇️ Vyner now in shot with Kalas looking to mark Jutkiewicz and Hogan.

Graham shapes to cross ⬇️ Atkinson not checked his right shoulder, he’s basically lost Gardner.

Vyner realising Atkinson has got caught ball-watching tries to get across….too late ⬇️

My analysis, if you want to blame a player….then it’s Atkinson.  But it definitely isn’t Vyner.

We cannot tell what comms have gone on, but I find it hard to believe that at any stage Atkinson has said “I’m passing Gardner on”….let alone to Vyner.

    ???

Have just caught this post, but IMO you’re totally correct in that Gardner has ran off Atkinsons shoulder & all Vyner can do is try to close the space, which he never was going to. Noticed it on the night but after yet another dismal performance, I couldn’t be bothered to put my two penneth in. COYR

Have you seen the price of Electric cars!!

Absolutely this. Needs to be something that is looked at. I’m sure there is/will be some sort of initiative to encourage people to buy electric cars, but it has to be realistic & not some sort of token gesture. What is the point in profit if there isn’t a planet to enjoy it on! COYR

  13. I can only comment on Saturdays performance ( 1st game I’ve been to in a long time ), but I think you could add a few more to that original list personally. 1st thing I always look for is ability, touch, composure, time on the ball, football intelligence & I didn’t see a lot of it on display on Saturday or last night ( all be it on the tv ). So I won’t chuck anyone under Pearson’s bus quite yet, but I have my doubts as to whether a few not mentioned are capable of being a middle/top end championship player. But as with managers, I’m happy to give them some time & hopefully they prove me wrong. COYR

We just can’t go on carrying no goal threat from Wells and Martin.

I watch better strikers in the Isthmian League than those two.

Only option is to play the youngsters:  Scott, Janneh, Bell, and, when fit, Conway until we can recruit in January.

Otherwise play one of the midfield as a striker if any are up to it

one thing we can’t do is play Wells and Martin and expect a change in them.  They have both fallen off the Championship cliff.

Although I tend to agree with the sentiment, I wouldn’t want to play up front in this team. No composure on the ball, no patterns of play (unless the pattern is getting rid of it like a hot potato ), just utter dross. COYR

Looked a better side than us, with a game plan and minus the talented individuals.

I thought they looked good at times going forward, but can also see why they leak goals. They were the better side imo. Funny old game. COYR

Just went on to order my son - 1 in December, a kit. Lo and behold they aren't even listed on there anymore.

I try really hard to not find a stick to beat the commercial side of the club with, but it's just too damn easy!

Hi mate. They have got the mini kit for 12 month - 18 month olds if that’s any good? Stumbled across it last night when looking for items for my son. Includes shirt, shorts & socks. Click on the youth home shirt & it comes up with that. Hope this helps. The website is useless & the search bar often doesn’t work! COYR
