  1. Tried booking a tour for my boy on Friday evening, but all days & times were sold out. Noticed that the email didn’t say anything about limited availability, but the club official site says limited numbers. Did anyone else miss out & do we think there will be another opportunity for those that did? Think it’s a great idea from the club & could help inspire a few youngsters you would hope. COYR

  2. Does anyone know if parking will be still available on the Ashton Vale industrial estate?   Always park on the main stretch through the industrial estate & was hoping it will be available for the concert. As I see parking information on the website states that local roads will be closed off. Any help appreciated. Cheers

Pretty sure that Roy Keane quote is made up, but as I said about the Nations League, June should be a month when no football is played.

Genuinely amazed anyone who is actually interested in football watches shite like this.

Reminds me of the film version of Porridge where the inmates play a Celebrity XI that ends up including a regional TV weatherman & an actor whose been in an advert, “we did have one of The Goodies but he’s a no show”.

Absolute ******* rubbish, just donate what you possibly can to charity & stop this sort of bollocks.

I’d be fairly confident that Roy didn’t say that all as well. In fact, I’m fairly sure he played in one of the games a few years ago & had to go off injured. But it will be no doubt something people latch onto, as they have a pre perceived idea of Roy. COYR

Didn’t Palmer join right at the end of the preseason anyway, so whilst he was physically fit, he wasn’t there for most of LJ’s work with the team?

Yes, if I remember it correctly, Palmer actually went on tour to Germany with Chelsea, as Lampard hadn’t made his mind up on him. Once the tour ended, things started moving towards him coming to City. COYR

Good to see Real Madrid not getting their way. Not sure about recent times; but in the past they would agree terms with a player before even approaching the player’s club. No other club would get away with that.

Such was their arrogance that they believed the player’s club would always crumble, even if they didn’t want to sell, because “we are Real Madrid, and every player wants to play for us”.

Although I agree with your sentiment on Madrid not getting their own way, I think you would be surprised about players agreeing terms before the club was approached & that is even at City’s level! COYR

2000 eh! Strange, a poor deluded soul, who's son plays rugby with my boy, told me there were 3,500 at Rochdale yesterday. So only 1,500 locked out, quite a drop in travelling numbers. You'd have thought the usual 25,000 would have gone up for this one!

That’s gone up since Joey said 3000 on Saturday during his Radio Bristol interview! COYR

Was a little unsure about Klose until today but not anymore. Certainly worth another year. However still a little unconvinced about Cundy - is he a bit one paced?

I think he and Atkinson are the type that build up speed, but don’t look agile/sharp. When I look at Cundy, I want to see a player that believes he should be here, not quite seeing that as of yet. He has done ok from what I’ve seen, no mistakes, just steady & that’s not a bad thing after what he has been through. Hoping to see him grow more in confidence & stature, if he gets the new contract. I think it helps when Williams can spray a pass too…means we can get our side players on the ball quickly, without our opponents being able to get in shape. Scott benefitted a few times in the first half.  We passed it with good tempo too.

Absolutely, he looks to constantly get on the ball, I’ve never understood a footballer being on a pitch & not wanting the ball at his feet. He demands it & I like that. We made the pitch big today, wide players got white marks on the back of their boots! Happy days. COYR

  9. These two elements were what stood out for me today. We actually passed the ball with a purpose, a bit of zip to it. Far to often the passing is so slow, where as today we passed it with the belief that the recipient could handle the ball. It stops the other team from being able to get back into shape etc & pulls them about. That coupled with the much better & more fluent movement was exactly what I want to be watching from City. Energy & purpose, was great to watch. Possibly didn’t need its own topic, but it’s just nice to see so many positives! COYR

As a grown person, do you really wait to see players walk around a pitch? Seems strange to me.

I got memories from being a kid running onto the pitch last game of the season, great times. Unfortunately our kids what get to make memories. They get to talk about the time someone waved from afar!

Personally made me cringe, especially in the circumstances & I had to explain to my son that what they were doing was wrong. I suppose there is also the security side of it, if some head case got near a player etc. Don’t get me wrong, I can see it with a promotion or last game survival type of thing, but today was embarrassing. At least he booked him for a trivial offence later for totting up fouls.

Was that the number 6? Thought he got away with that one in the first half, especially with his antics after. Then after the foul in the second half, he then kicked the ball away. Might not of been so lucky with another ref. Thought he did generally well though, especially making his debut in the championship. Nice game to start with as well. COYR

No thoughts for the players or their young families and how they would feel about it. I don’t really mind a few kids ending up evading stewards but 30 40 50 year old blokes doing it is a bad look.

Noticed a few having to pick their kids up when they saw what was happening. Really ruined it I think. Didn’t know who I was clapping with the amount of people on the pitch. Simple things for simple minds I guess. COYR

I saw him before the match. If you’re an unemployed manager you’ve got to keep in touch with game by watching matches, scouting etc

Totally get that, just thought it was a weird game choice. Not local, two generally poor teams (except today!). COYR

He's working as Technical Advisor for the Ghanaian national team, he'll have been watching Antoine.

That answers that question. Not a bad game to come and watch Semenyo then! COYR

  14. Noticed Hughton up in the Lansdown today. Seemed an odd game to just take in, neither team up to much & especially as I don’t believe he’s local. Both managers are fairly secure in their jobs I would say. He was taking notes & whether it was coincidence or not, he left directly after Semenyo was substituted, although this could of been to beat the traffic. Maybe scouting for a friend? Thought it was worth a mention. Let the conspiracy theories begin! COYR

  15. Was brilliant today, was a step ahead all the time. I think he’s been getting better every game, so with a full pre season behind him, it’s a no brainer to me, sign him up asap. COYR

  16. Just to add, if it hasn’t been already, don’t go to the main store for click & collect as it says on the email, you have to collect at the pop up shop. Hopefully saves someone queuing for 10 minutes in the main store, unlike me! COYR

Pretty sad state of affairs if they charge him £5 for losing a season ticket, especially as it’s the last game of 23 he’s paid for.

Happened to my son a few seasons back. He dropped it at an eye clinic in Cardiff on a Thursday or Friday & we were home on the Saturday. The eye clinic were good enough to post it back to us, but had to pay the £5 for them to print off a substitute ticket for that one game! Paper & ink are very expensive in Ashton! COYR

  18. Depends on how you want to take that comment. Most could be 51%, but that isn’t ever going to happen. You also need other teams to want your players. Personally think it may be a couple sold, most ooc released & slightly more brought in ( mainly frees ). I’m also not bothered about if they are free, it’s what they bring to the party. There are going to be quite a lot of potential free signings this summer, recruitment is key ( you only have to look at Man Utd! ). Interesting summer ahead. COYR
