  1. Although I agree with your point with regards there is potentially an argument that LJs team was weaker than the current one, I think you have got quite a few on your list that Pearson got rid of, that is not correct. Taylor, Elliasson, Morrell, Szmodic, Bailey Wright we’re definitely sold by other managers. But in general, yes, I think this team should be looking at around 10th - 12th at least I’d say personally, we are underperforming. But in saying that, I would stick with Pearson, as I would of with LJ. COYR

Just looking at two recent appointments in our division, Liam Rosenior & Kolo Toure.

Rosenior has been in charge of Hull for 6 games now, they’ve won one of those. For some on here who just love their win ratios that is 16.67%.

Kolo Toure’s first 3 games have seen Wigan pick up one point, that’s a win ratio of 0%, by the way.

So could be 3rd time lucky for us! is that what you’re saying? COYR

Not heard the interview and not seen the context for the quote so don’t want to jump to conclusions.

What I would say is the vast majority fans have been far more patient, trusting and supporting of Pearson than might be expected from the results alone and you would hope he and the club appreciated that.

I’ve not heard the interview also, but I totally agree that he has been given a fairly easy ride so far by the fans, considering the results. But I also think he’s well aware of that & I'm sure he has given a nod to that during quite a few interviews. COYR

Worrying that NP says players offered new contracts are being offered less money. He said ‘That’s where we are’.  Thus it will mean less chances of recruiting if other Championship clubs interested in the same player.

what a condemnation of the way the club has been run.

I think that is something most clubs will be doing following on from Covid & FFP. There is something of a re-evaluation going on for most clubs, certainly under the Prem. I think it’s been mentioned quite a few times that players will have to come to terms with this. Wells is a great example of this & im only guessing, but I would suggest that was a bigger drop than most will have to sacrifice. COYR

If only Nige had been given LJ’s level of resources since arriving.

The powers that be never highlight that though, it’s always “we are where we are” and we move on.

When you say ‘ the powers that be ‘ you mean Nige? That’s one of the things I like about him, he knows what he’s dealing with & just gets on with it. I actually think there’s an element of him enjoying it as well. COYR

I can't for the life of me remember Rodri.

And Dave, is it still a tenner for each player we find that you've missed?

Striker from Spain. Had a decent touch & thought he looked quite tidy. But only used sparingly if I recall. Fairly sure he played in the Spanish top league before us. COYR

Thought I’d look back at the goal we conceded. Lot of blame apportioned to Tanner, so I thought I’d see if that was the case or not.

    Pic 1:

Three on three, King closest to Ogbene, Naismith trying to cover near post area, so not sure who is really marking Wiles, Tanner in touch with Rathbone, the deepest of the Millers three.

    Pic2:

Pretty much the same set up, Scott and James sensing a bit of danger.

    Pic3:

Norton-Cuffy has stolen half a yard on Pring.  Ogbene has peeled off the back of King. Naismith now totally focussed on cutting out near post.  King no idea where Ogbene is and more interested in Wiles, although it’s Rathbone who starts to drive towards near post.  James trying to get to Rathbone.  Scott hasn’t really moved.

    Pic4:

Really tight call for offside!  Ogbene unmarked.

    Pic5:

Pring deflects the cross, looping it to back post.  Ogbene heads easily into the goal.

My summary is that at no real point were Ogbene, Wiles and Rathbone marked.  Naismith probably excluded from any real blame, as he had a role to cover near post.  Tanner and King guilty imho. Besides that, both had decent games.

Have only seen the goal once, via a post put up on the match day topic, but my initial thought was that Weimann should of been covering around the back, he can see everything in front him. Your snapshots sort of confirm what I thought. I presume he was playing right wing back? Doesn’t sense the danger & caught on his heels a bit. A more defensive player senses that, comes in a few yards & gets their head to it & out it goes for a corner? Great win though. COYR

Would have thought Villa would be the sensible option

He’s a big Liverpool fan, after City of course! He had a trial at Liverpool, seem to remember it being at the same time we played Liverpool in the cup. His trial went well, Tinnion scored, Souness got sacked & that was the end of that! COYR

I don’t think we should be writing Idehen off at this point.

He managed to force himself into 1st team consideration last season, appearing twice, but had a “difficult” summer.  He may well have needed some time away, and despite not playing much, might come back ready to go again.  He’s 20, he was probably ahead of Towler going into the summer, so let’s give him a bit of time to see how he re-starts his career here.

You and your common sense! COYR

  10. Am I missing something? Have just seen this on Bristol live & a statement from the club! Because I’m fairly confident that the retail offering up to Christmas has been affected. I’ve had an email saying my order which was made & paid for last week (Christmas present ) is out of stock! COYR

Home shirts remain in limited stock and there are no available sizes above a large online. There are only small and medium sizes in the adult goalkeeper jersey but the club say they have received stock for the 2022/23 season.

In a statement, the club told Bristol Live: "We can confirm that Elite Sports Group, Bristol City’s kit supplier and UK distributor for hummel has gone into administration.

We’ve received our stock for the 22/23 season and can reassure fans that our retail offering in the run-up to Christmas will not be affected. We are working with hummel Denmark to understand the process going forwards."

I thought I'd leave it for someone else to comment on first, but let's just say at half-time I texted my brother and told him to lump it on Brum (all £5 of it). Maybe worth a point today - Hayles looked decent in the first half.

Edit: Announcer clearly not a footy fan: Half-time score described as 'zero-zero'.

Sounded like a bingo caller to me! COYR

I was told as soon as they get down to 10 items left it gets marked as our of stock online.

When I asked about new stock coming back in I was told

     "Next season !"

I went to the ladies game this afternoon & thought I’d chance my luck. No such luck, no 3rd kit shorts available. But my order that was meant to be delivered was there if I wanted to take it on. Lad basically said what you have mentioned & that he thinks they don’t like having stock left over! There seems to be this type of topic every season with the City shop, but this is possibly up there with the worse. COYR

  13. Anyone know if they sell kids away football shorts? Went online to get some kits! Managed to get the 3rd kit in YL ( if anyone is struggling ), but can’t see either of the 2nd or 3rd kit shorts on the site. It doesn’t help that the online shop is not the best to navigate mind! Nothing is ever easy with City! COYR

who was the FIFA(English?) who tried to coax Rattin off the field of play afer Rattin had been sent off in The England v Argentina quarter final game.

I thought you were going to ask if it was over the line! COYR

  15. Typical of Joe that, he is a really decent lad & have followed his career with interest since he left City. I’ll never forget the gesture he made for my lad, when we lost his season ticket. He didn’t need to get involved, but he was absolute class. I actually think he would be right up Pearson’s street! COYR

  16. I went for Wells, I just think the attitude he’s had ( never bought into the bad attitude jibes he once had, more frustrated player imo ), the effect he’s had on other players around him & obviously the performances on top of that. We look better when he’s in the team. Conway would be young player of the year ( half year! ). COYR

  17. Lack of class shown towards the injured player. No excuses, don’t care if he’s slamming his hand on the ground or whatever.  Shame really, as I thought the crowd were generally good today, especially the second half. COYR

Putting the Lincoln result to one side, difficult I know, last three games I thought we have been competitive. Decent against Swansea, deserved more against Sheff Utd, maybe deserved to lose at Boro but fought for the point.

This line up just shoes how shallow the squad depth is when we are a couple of players down.

I always look towards the bench for that & I think there are a lot of clubs in the Championship that would like that bench! COYR
