Worth remembering that Luton got a draw at AG last season and beat us at there place, besides getting in the play offs.

    Beating Luton is progress.

Great performance last night, but that isn’t the Luton of last year in all honesty, even though they have apparently made signings. Think they have only scored once this season & it showed. Would not be surprised if they struggle. COYR

  2. Played well tonight, but some of the things he did tonight on another night, don’t come off & people on here will be slaughtering him. Personally I’m happy with how he plays & accept that occasionally he’s going to come a cropper! COYR

I also think he was keen to add height with every substitution, as that seemed like the main threat from Luton. Both RBs are tiny.

I think that is exactly right. Would of loved Wells & Conway to stay on, but they haven’t had a lot of football & we’re probably blowing after the effort they had put in tonight. Think he went with height & experience. COYR

  4. When I use to play, to be able to pass the ball, you had to A) have someone want it & B) have someone move to a position ( with intent!) that creates the angle for the ball carrier to be able to pass it. Now I know the game is full of stats & phases now, but it’s still the same bloody simple game. As with anything, you have to get the basics right first. Bentley is one of our lesser problems I would say. COYR

No balance from too many posters after a defeat.

Too true. I thought there was some really good stuff first half, I can even put up with the 3rd minute blooper, as long as we’re trying to play the right way. Yes, there is 90 minutes in a game & that for me is my biggest concern from yesterday, we seemed to run out of steam around 55 - 60 minutes. Nige has said we are fitter than we were, I don’t see it on yesterday’s second half performance. Don’t know if it’s just me, but we seem to often look slower & smaller physically. We dropped too much in the second half & possibly the lines became too stretched. But the scapegoating on here on certain players is a bit much, especially after the second game of the season & one of which wasn’t meant to be starting! Definitely room for improvement, but some good signs in there that are seemingly easily forgotten after a loss. COYR

  6. One of the best players in the first 30 minutes. Did he get a whack just before half-time? Definitely tired in the second half, did he recover from the whack? As for people not rating him, game of opinions I suppose, but he could play a higher standard than most in our team. Seems to get highlighted by a lot on here, yet others don’t seem to get a mention & were fairly anonymous for most of the game. COYR

Was just reading the preview from sky and none of our players feature. They mention Piroe and Brereton but not Weimann who scored the same yet assisted more. Also in the best 25 players under the age of 25 there is no mention of Scott or Semenyo.

Scott & Semenyo both get a mention, scroll down, they are near the bottom! COYR

FB_IMG_1657663460226.jpgI only recognise 4 from that lot! Dr Karl, Susan, Paul & Toad. Been a while since I watched it though. Brings back some childhood memories. Every week day, twice a day, unbelievable! Might even watch the last episode. COYR

It just struck me that’s it’s 30 yrs ago when I went to the tournament with a few mates.

At the time being young single and fancy free I was going everywhere with city and a few England trips. Football was still relatively inexpensive then.(the beer wasn’t!)

It was the best “single holiday” of my life. The football was shocking but oh my goodness was a crack we had.

Anyone else on here go to the tournament and want to share their experience?

Still having my doubts whether Carlton Palmer was international class?

Was there ever any doubts? COYR

Yup, just back myself. Amazing performer. Wasn't quite sure about the sound system early on from where I was but it seemed to get sorted out well enough. Great night though...

Yep, just got back. Brilliant to see him live, not particularly his biggest fan, but glad we did it. He really is an amazing performer & at 75! Also great to see things like this happening at Ashton Gate. Great night. COYR

Not sure how much of a cut he gets out of all the merchandise. However on Wednesday they sold loads of stuff so must make a good living just off those sales.

I bet he does. Went tonight & asked for a programme, the lady replied “ is that the £20 one or the £50”! Nice little side earner I’d imagine! COYR

Pretty sure Le Tissier was still somewhat mild when he left sky in comparison to now.

I do recall he was publicly questioning the legitimacy of BLM while near the end of his time at sky though, and you know how far sky backed it.

So maybe partly that? I dunno.

I watched a podcast with Le Tiss earlier, I presume it’s where the OP got his quote from. Le Tiss actually says he got asked to wear the BLM badge 30 seconds before they went live, to which they had to make a quick decision, so he wore it. After the show he said he would not wear it again as he was concerned about that particular organisation ( short story ), but he would wear any other anti racial badge. The was also another story about how he tweeted how coincidental it was that a lot of teams were not publicly declaring their players having Covid, except for those teams that were in the relegation zone or fighting relegation. As if trying to put pressure on the Prem to cancel the season. Believe that particular subject was raised on here. Anyway, apparently one CEO of those clubs wrote to Sky officially complaining. Le Tiss believes he was stating facts. Where as Jamie Carragher broke the law. COYR

Are you still looking to go? I’m booked with my kids Tuesday 28th 17:40 but sadly am no longer able to make it. Am sure if I just emailed you my confirmation they wouldn’t check.

Hi mate. Really appreciate the offer, but unfortunately we can only do Monday or Wednesday & also later in the evening. Thanks for the thought though. COYR

    Agree. Both.

3 months older than Sam Pearson.

3 months younger than Owura Edwards.

18 months younger than Antoine Semenyo / Saikou Janneh (just picking these two shows the broad spectrum).

Callum O’Dowda was allowed to be inconsistent at 26, Jamie Paterson at 29.

He also doesn’t make 2-3 serious mistakes per match.

All the while doing it in a different country & in the most competitive league in the world. Hopefully signs & improves with us, but if he won’t, as gutting as it would be, we need to sell him in this window. COYR

“Limited tickets for the visit will be available on the club website from 10am on Friday, June 17th for one Under-12s Season Ticket holder and a guardian. The ticket must be assigned to the Under-12 Season Ticket holder in the basket.”

As I said, the email I received didn’t say limited tickets. I presume you took that from the Club Site? Unfortunately, due to work, I was unable to try & get a tour until Friday evening. Hopefully they’ll be another chance. COYR
