  1. Gas moving with the times, always ahead of the game. Any wet weather or high winds, the sign falls off and the portaloo is then non binary!
  2. No age, with a young daughter I believe as well. RIP City fan
  3. Big mistake to criticise Norwich in that way. Until they did that, every Norwich fan had Rovers as their second favourite team.
  4. Lots of Poles in Somerset as well. After the war they stayed and worked in the mines.
  5. They didn't drink their milk, they're not going to be good enough to play Liverpool, they're only good enough to play Accrington Stanley.

Tanner was great tonight as well
  7. Reading the Burnley forums they are largely complementary about him. They say he lacks the pace or power to play wide and that 8 or 10 are his best positions. They say they have nobody in their team at present who can deliver a set piece like him. I see Manning playing him as a 10 with Knight playing a deeper role.
  8. In my string vest and Speedos here, although I'm indoors and that is a treat for the Mrs
  9. I would be staggered if he didn't receive a wonderful welcome back to Ashton Gate in the future. He's always given 100% for the jersey, he has scored plenty of important goals for the club and been a help to younger players. It feels like one of those win-win-win scenarios For Andi - a last big signing on fee and joining a massive club at Championship level who should push for promotion. For WBA - a man that gives 100% every game, knows the division and will weigh in with key goals during their run in For BCFC - free up the wages of an older player that we wouldn't be resigning, a player that hasn't had much game time under Manning and allow for a new forward to come through the door.
  10. Huge credit must go to the West Ham board, West Ham supporters and of course the fantastic travelling support from the West Country. Whichever you look at it, for West ham to get 62500 for a third round cup match against a team a division below them is amazing. For City to take 9000 to a third round match that many must have expected us to lose against a team we have played several times in the past 20 years and a 2 hour + journey that is phenomenal. Well done City.
  11. I didn't start watching City until the early 80s, but if we really did take 18,000 to Coventry that is amazing. How did they all get there? There must not have been a train or coach left in the South west, ha.
  12. Where the programme says 'City's support is found on the south side of the River Severn and Rovers on the North side' surely they mean the River Avon?
  13. I'm delighted with this news. I desperately wanted to make the 9 hour round trip and spend over £100 to watch City at Preston, but what was putting me off was the chance to watch Luton Town take on the likes of the mighty Bournemouth in the Prem. I will now travel, COYR.
  14. Luckily few people were hurt, as most of the 35,000 were locked outside.
  15. I believe Bob Boyd set up, financed and ran the successful Boco Boys team that played out of Hanham. They are now AEK-Boco and have girls, womens and Mens sections as well, playing at the revamped Greenbank Park playing fields in Hanham. He was a City fan up until his death.
  16. Incredibly sad news, my prayers to the family and his loved ones. Far too soon to approach the family now of course, but what about his son being mascot for a future home game. If the club won't do it, then I'm sure enough of us would be willing to contribute a fiver or tenner to cover the cost.
  17. Yes, I've been to Vale at least 5 times with City over the years and there has always been trouble. I also recall 20-30 Vale lads trying (unsuccessfully) to attack the Coopers Arms about 20 years back before a league game against them.
  18. Interestingly, very different feelings about their 'rivals'. Forest and County have quite a friendly rivalry and nothing much more than jokey banter. Stoke and Vale can get very nasty. I wonder if it is anything to do with geography. Forest and County don't have geographical areas as such, with both grounds being so close. Whereas, Stoke are located in the Stoke area, south in Stoke on Trent, while Port Vale are in Burslem, a town in the North of Stoke on Trent. As a kid, I can remember thinking of Stoke as a Midlands club and Vale as a North West club, not realising they were located less than 5 miles apart.
  19. They're coming for us mind...unlucky da sh*t
  20. You mean Curtis Fleming. I believe Curtis Woodhouse gave up pro football to be a pro boxer.
