Not 80 or 90 yet...do the math as they say. Actually I am a ST but not always go due to travel etc, hopefully that clears up your misconceptions about me. Always have supported the club, even in the dark days, IF you think this is bad how about the years in Div 3 South, ot bottom of the whole football leagues...but even then we were united on the whole, no throwing out the toys after every defeat,  mass sackings etc, seems like the big bucks of the Prem have skewed our view on the game.

I was around in the 4th Division days too.  The big difference then was we had people in charge who wanted the best for the club.

I don’t believe this is the case with the current owner and board and I suspect that belief is held by many other fans.

There’s your big divide and is probably as much a reflection on what’s happening behind the scenes, as what’s actually happening on the pitch.

The fans were united when we were at the bottom and we believed in what the club were trying to do.  I’m sure you’ll find there are far fewer with any kind of belief right now.

Fingers crossed for a defeat Monday for many on here I suspect, just so their wrecking ball gets swinging again. Actually before the game Friday this was the hope, we would get beat, that is just weird I cannot imagine personally that we lose any game, I have been City since Atyeo was playing for England, every defeat was a disaster and every win was a triumph, I would never boo.

If you feel booing will help, why wait for half time or full time to boo, why not boo them as they come on before kick off that'll be just great.

Luckily, not all our fans are as easily pleased as you, or we could find ourselves languishing below the Sags.  If you just blindly accept everything dished out by the club, what’s to stop them just getting complacent?

Although it’s not our choice, we are customers now don’t forget, so if we don’t like the product being served up, we’ve got every right to complain.

If you regularly went into a restaurant and kept getting served up shit food, only to be told by the owner that it’s his restaurant and he can do what he likes, what would you do?

The most sensible options would be to refuse to eat there any more, or keep complaining and try to get him to raise his game and serve up some better food.

In your case, it appears you would rather keep going back and eating yet more crap food without complaint, instead criticising anyone else who complains about the poor standard of the product.

Very odd behaviour and hardly likely to see any improvement, is it??

Easy they put themselves in the shop window manning doesn't need to do anything to motive them in big games. Unfortunately this club and the way it is only performs against better teams(Cup games and Southampton 😂). Unless we get the club performing in EVERY game then we won't get to where we want to be. It says everything about the club perform on the cameras to make us look good. It's becoming tiresome as I've said before. People only take notice of these games and not the bigger picture.

Certainly my suspicion too SR, so we’ll see over the next few games if we revert back to default form.

Just hoping the squad NP assembled are a bit more professional than some of the wasters we’ve had in the past, but if we turn to shit again on Monday, that’ll tell us a lot on that score.

    Lest we forget...

We produced an excellent performance away to Watford, followed by a series of dire performances and awful results.

We produced an excellent performance home to Southampton, followed by a series of dire performances and awful results.

We produced an excellent performance yesterday against Leicester, followed by ......    tbc

Let's see if Manning has learnt anything from what happened after those Watford and Southampton games, before we start thinking he might not be totally out of his depth!

We won’t have long to wait, as Plymouth could certainly provide a different test.

Big credit to Manning and the team for a really bright performance yesterday.   What baffles me is how they could play with such intensity and determination yesterday and yet that’s been totally lacking in the previous few games.  If we could get some consistancy in that area, we would probably see a big upturn in results.

Cue a sluggish, downbeat performance at Plymouth, to leave us all baffled and frustrated again!!!

Ok- so what are you planning to do to make a statement and show backbone? Wait till the last minute then renew?

Yeah, I’m at least going to make them wait for their money, not throw it at them as soon as they snap their fingers!

I’ll be doing nothing until the last minute for sure, but when deadline day comes, I might just say shove it and walk away.

That’ll be largely down to how the club is being run, not what’s happening on the pitch.

That’s as maybe. I was responding to a post saying that SL wants his money back. That’s about £200m.
And all we do is moan.

…. and we aren’t entitled to moan??

We’ve accrued a debt of £200m and all we’ve got to show for it is a ground refurbishment costing possibly £40m, but we no longer even own the ground!

We’ve had a diabolically bad return for that level of investment and the blame for that lies wholly with Lansdown.

Without the Lansdowns we’d probably be in league 1 playing in a ramshackle Ashton Gate.

We’ve been a division above the sags for most of our history, so what makes you think we wouldn’t have without Lansdown?

We may have had an owner who could actually run a football club without racking up massive debts through his appalling decision making.

Who knows what could have been, but I’m totally sick of what we’ve become under daddy and junior Lansdown and can’t wait to see the back of them.

🤣Can’t get that cynical about what’s probably less than a pound tbh, lifes too short.

It’s not really about the money though is it, it’s more to do with making a statement.

You and the other quick payers clearly aren’t bothered about how the club is being tun and keep sucking it up.

Your choice of course, but I can’t see this club improving until fans start showing some backbone and stop rewarding mediocrity.

I agree that the guaranteed upfront income is attractive to most clubs, but not it would seem to ours, I would like to know if any other club in the Championship is refusing to sell available seats for STs as our club is proposing with the SS ban.

If things stay as they are I won’t be renewing .

They could really find this coming back and biting them on the ass.

Imagine them missing out on season ticket sales to people wanting to transfer their ST over to the SS from other stands and then having a poor uptake of potd tickets.

Instead of empty seats due to no-show ST holders (money already in the club’s pocket) and instead have empty seats due to people not taking up potd (so no money at all).

Could turn out to be a massive own goal.  As the saying goes, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

That looks like how our early bird system used to work, before our club decided to rinse us fans for whatever they can squeeze out of us.

Now we’ve got to hand over our money early and swallow a price rise, just to retain our seat.

Indeed, just because you live in Scotland doesn't make you any less of a fan then someone living in Bristol,

I fact if you make the effort to travel to a home game from miles away I'd say that makes you a bigger fan,

We don't get tourist fans we are bristol city not real madrid

Very fair comment.  Tourist fans go to high profile or successful clubs, not to watch the dross we dish out.

If a’tourist’ was daft enough to come along once, they certainly wouldn’t return!

Looks like Pompey, Derby and then the usual lottery of P.Os. Just been reading a Reading paper that confirms there are only four teams with bigger away support than them (Royals) this season. Not sure who these are but almost certainly the current top 3 plus one. I couldnt bear to go on to a Gas site to see if their away support is still in the tens of thousands every week but it will be good to have Pompey and Derby at AG again and also as good away trips for us

Royals away support averages 1200 this season; not bad for a crisis club in a vicious downward spiral.

I just hope it’s the crappest teams possible, to give us the best chance of staying up next season, if our bright and sparkling young head. coach is still hanging in there

    Poor old Colin is both.

Guess so, though I’ve mellowed a bit towards Colin in my older years ….. probably due the painful lack of characters in the game now.  Love him or hate him, he certainly doesn’t fade into the background.

We’re well aware of the lack of character issue with Mr Personality Bypass Manning!

No it isn’t, I can’t move from the Lansdown to the South Stand…period.

Any STs not renewed in the SS will be sold as POTD, no opportunity for EXISTING ST holders to relocate their seats unless they already sit in the SS.

Its supposed to be the HOME end, instead it’s going to be the tourist end with quite possibly away fans buying tickets at the expense of home supporters, another crazy decision by the leadership, but hey ho just another example of the Lansdowns disconnect.

That’s how I read that too.

Basically they’re saying, if you don’t renew your SS ST by deadline day, you lose any chance of getting a new ST there in the foreseeable future, even if your previous seat is still available.  Talk about bouncing you into renewing by waving a big stick.

    ******* arseholes 😡

I personally think you're a bit short in the memory.

We are mid table, yes going backwards, but highly unlikely to be relegated. It's not like the days under S'OD / McInnes of late.

We have a squad who played with pride earlier in the season. Again, not like the massive wages we had on dead wood earlier in the season.

We have multiple academy players in the squad, it's not like under Gary where we didn't have any youth.

Even as a squad, we are fairly young. It's not like we have lots of older players on longer contracts.

Yes Manning-ball is dire. Tinnion and JL are out of their depth. But there's also so much potential here, as seen in glimpses under Nigel.

Unfortunately that potential means Jack shit while those out of their depth people and absent owner continue at this club.  Just watch the potential all disappear over the next couple of transfer windows too.

The so-called pathway for the young talent now seems to have disappeared, as how else can you explain decisions like bringing in someone like Mabude, when Yeboah doesn’t get a sniff any more?

We’re just a rudderless boat, with a couple of idiots sat on board and flapping their hands in the water to move it, as they’re too stupid to realise you actually need oars to make it move.

Total shambles and all of the club’s/owner’s  own doing

Because it's ultimately likely to be his son's money in the end, anyway.

Well, if he’s not really looking for a return on his millions and he’s happy for his son to run the club into the ground, we’re well and truly ******!

That's what happens when you have a lack of leadership. Things turn to shit pretty quickly.

Remember having supply teachers at school? It would always be chaos.

That's what has happened here, our club has been left in the hands of incompetent people and because of that everything is turning shit.

What baffles me is, even if it turns out that Hargreaves was the real brains behind Hargreaves Lansdown, SL can’t be daft.  He must see his investment turning to shit under his idiot son, so why is he sitting back and letting it happen?

I can’t think what the benefit is for him hanging on to the club, but I do wonder if there may be some benefits we aren’t aware of, or why bother?

We all speculate that he’s priced the club so high he can’t sell, but its value is only going one way at the moment.  A good business man would realise that, drop the price, cut the losses and get out now.

He clearly doesn’t love the club, so he is either a piss poor businessman and football club owner, or he has some other reason for hanging on, when he shows no interest in improving matters and is actually strangling the life out of the club and totally alienating the fanbase.

Sometimes I struggle to believe that it's only 13.5 months since Gould left.

How the hell can we have gone so far backwards, in so little time?!

Every time we appear to be making some form of progress, (under Cotterill and Pearson as examples), it gets soundly stamped on and we revert to type.

Can you imagine the job advertisement

    Wanted Championship Level Head Coach

No experience or track record needed

Must be prepared to work with almost no budget and to sell any player that can attract a fee over £3 million. Must never disagree with the Director or Sport or the owners son and must take 100% of the flack when things go wrong.

Must be prepared to accept that what ever squad you get is "play off ready" and must not ask for a decent striker because Arsenal manage without one.

Must be a master of bulls**t and deflection and must accept that after failing at BCFC you will probably only get a job in League 1 or 2 or Scotland. This should not be a concern because you are probably best at that level anyway.

Must be able to talk about promotion whilst keeping a straight face and most importantly must not give a s**t what the fans think.

    So right.
It’s ridiculous isn’t it and I don’t believe it would be possible for this club to be more shambolically run.

It amazes me that there are still fans supporting Lansdown, after the shitshow he’s turned us into.  Why the **** is he still here, if he cares so little about our club?
