  1. They were very well crafted and taken goals last night. We moved the ball around with ease after we went 2-1 up. Arguably our opener was against the run of play, and we could have found ourselves trailing had it not been for some woeful finishing from them. Each goal you can pick out a really good moment in each of the moves. Movement off the ball for the opener, the dribble and cross for the second. The turn for the third. The steal and the touch around the keeper for the fourth and the chip from Wells into Naismith for the fifth. Sadly their goal was a mess from our point of view. Tanner completely losing his man and then Max getting caught flat footed with a tame header. Nice to see we are capable of still playing some nice stuff even without Scott in the engine room.

I think this is doing a disservice to the fan base. It took a few months to get people onside but I think that many, many more recognise the massive improvement in him now. 1 season. If he'd been sold last summer there wouldn't have been many tears shed. I'm so pleased to see him continue last season's form into this. Long may it continue. One mistake today, but the recovery tackle after was superb and showed just how much confidence he's playing with now. 18 months ago his head would've dropped and he wouldn't have made the tackle.
  3. Hey, leave him alone....he only had it pointed out to him a dozen or so times after using the "fact" initially before using it again. Facts have never been RR's strong point, especially when the topic of conversation happens to have the surname Johnson.
  4. They are a growing fanbase.... They're getting their sisters pregnant all the time up that way......
  5. The response from Wally just goes to prove he doesn't actually give two shits!

  7. Both things are not possible. One or the other.
  8. On the backs of the shirts....
  9. The comments on the club statement on Twitter are absolutely golden. I genuinely don't think there is another club in the land better than Rovers....in terms of playing the victims. I mean, wow! They really drank the kool-aid when Wally Al-Qaeda bought the club, didn't they?
  10. That's a fair enough comment. If we couldn't guarantee minutes then makes perfect sense why he'd decide not to return. There's also the legacy concern. Good luck to him.....except against us of course!
  11. You are forgetting all other freely available avenues. Talk about inventing problems where there are none!
  12. Apologies - updated my post as above. Even better value and even less like being denied legal representation!
  13. A few things..... It's a pound a month. So it's not exactly on a level with affording legal representation - so a nonsense analogy Everyone on here has an e-mail address and access to the internet. That enables anyone and everyone the ability, should they choose, to use one of said tools which won't cost a penny. So it's not exactly denying anyone access to voice a view - so a nonsense analogy. This gives the SC&T a dedicated area on the forum for it's members to raise things if they deem this to be the preferred method of communication whilst keeping things manageable for those that collate views of the members. 14. I would be more worried if the members of City 'Til I Die on Facebook did like the forum. I do agree with what you are saying. I also get that there are some views on here that are batshit crazy, others that are just too damn polarising to get a consensus on. And far too many that will just derail a thread into fish puns. However. There are some very reasonable people on here, and this is as valid a forum (literally) for views, opinions and suggestions as you'll get. Is there any value in a sub-forum, with access granted to members of the SC&T, to be able to discuss or put opinion forward for those who don't so much like those other channels? I know this will meet with people saying "It should be for all fans not just those who are members of the SC&T", but the reality is if your opinion is strong enough you'll gladly part with the price of a pint a month to join. Just a thought.
  15. The fact that Jerry has already said he and others are doing several peoples jobs because of staff shortages would suggest that there isn't always someone else who will. All I'm saying is that two certain girls still have one more cup that Rovers do in their trophy cabinet! For many it isn't a case of don't upgrade to a smart phone as can't. My mum - old, but not elderly. Still in her 60's, but is a proper technophobe. As in she is terrified of anything even mildly complicated. She's afraid she'll "bugger it up" and gets genuinely upset at the thought of doing anything even remotely associated with this century - she still uses a bloody video recorder to tape things when she's out! The thought of her having a smartphone is as terrifying to my brother, sister and I as it is to her. Thankfully she doesn't like football and this won't be an issue for her, but there are plenty of others who, like her, simply don't feel comfortable using that sort of technology!
  16. Not sure, I'll have to check. I thought the guidelines were just around the foul and not where it took place, but quite probable that I'm mistaken. Either way, I thought the foul was in the box anyway, wasn't it?
  17. Your opening post even referenced Tommy! Like I said though, from memory I don't think it was. It was a foul, sure, but iirc he made a genuine attempt to challenge, which under the new guidelines would be a yellow only. It's also not his first season as a referee. He's referred 87 matches to date, 23 in the EFL. It'll be his first season in the Championship though... But if yesterday was anything to go by then any hopes we had that standards would improve this season look to be fading already of that's the standard they're promoting.
  18. You really did spell it wrong... I was thinking you meant Gurnham Singh, not Jarnail Singh! The rest of my reply below still stands though! Was he really? That would explain a lot. Gurnham Singh, Vic Callow and Lester Shapter era was a dark one for refereeing!
  19. The referee was poor. Looked like we could've had a couple of pens (I e. Sammy Bel in the first half. I don't think though was anything more sinister than he just didn't think it was a foul. From memory it was a clumsy challenge but a genuine attempt to play the ball. Doesn't make it any less of a penalty, but wouldn't have been a red card under the new/clarified rules for the season ahead so I don't believe a sending off would even have come into the equation.
  20. Well at least my blood pressure has a chance to recover if true. I've not been been so nervous defensively since Mad Frankie was at his maddest! Much preferred him in central midfield personally.
  21. I wonder if, now it's been officially announced, we'll see this implemented today in friendlies so players and refs get at least one stab at it before the season starts....
  22. I completely agree Paul Hartley was a far better player.... However 36 of his 40 appearances were in the starting line-up, so that last comment's a bit of a stretch......
  23. Losing my rag? Nah.... Mildly amused by you? Yep. And I note that you still have not addressed SD's post.... No-one is claiming he's the messiah, but to essentially consider him the antichrist, which is how it comes across, is just bizarre.
