  1. As noted on another thread. These are our two best performances of the season and the two that least resemble "Manning-ball". The only thing we can hope is that he now recognises what works and fine-tunes that.
  2. I feel like I've won the lottery....! Such a grim part of the country whose most popular tourist attraction is the sign saying "You are now leaving Wigan"! Still, it pays the bills I guess!
  3. Watching all lonely from a Wigan hotel room I was delighted with what I saw tonight. There is an air of caution to be mindful of though, and that is that we played the same way in the first half on Saturday and the same way as we did against Watford. That, last night, was absolutely not Manning-ball and showed that our strengths lie in other tactics. My worry is that against a struggling side like QPR we revert back to MB and try and bore the opposition into submission. I just hope he finally realises that taking the game to the opposition and quick counter attacks is when we look at our best. Keep up with that style towards the end of the season and a little glimmer of hope starts to spark. In terms of players, is anyone else getting bored of saying "Joe Williams was outstanding today"? The man is possessed and needs to be signed up immediately.
  4. I have a recollection of it being sung, but my memory's so bad I don't have any timeframe on it....wouldn't have been Liam Rosenior, would it? Would seem to fit. Flip it round and we could sing it to Mickey Maynards son if he were to ever make it as a pro!
  5. He's been to loads of matches over the last few years....usually sits in the Heineken Lounge corner of the Lansdown.
  6. Just came to mind... Dublin's fair city... No link to Bristol whatsoever, simple, harmless but always used to catch on... In Dublin's fair city Where the girls are so pretty I first laid my eyes on sweet Molly Malone As she wheeled her wheelbarrow Down streets short and narrow singing , , , City!
  7. Good luck getting Taylor Gardner-Hickman to scan there! You apparently!
  8. We used to believe We used to belieeeeeve We're Bristol City We used to believe! (c)
  9. 100%. I don't think anyone has ever actually come up with a reason - compelling or otherwise - for us singing that. I guess that's maybe because those that don't see anything wrong with it are singing it autobiographically! Nothing wrong with singing the original to reclaim it. I do question the intelligence of some of our fanbase at times......
  10. Hi Jerry. I can't make the match on Tuesday so my brother has said he'll be able to take my lad, Matthew, down. I need to transfer both my ticket and Matthews as both are in my Google wallet. From looking at the guide I see I will need to link my brother's supporter id (if he had one) to my account so I can assign my ticket to him, but how do I transfer Matthews ticket over to him so he can scan him in? Thanks Steve
  11. The whole article is an exercise in ifs, buts, maybes and "we don't have a clue if this will come in, when it might come in, what will be included and what level it might be trialled at"! I'm frankly amazed they managed to stretch it out to a scrolling page!
  12. Well that says an awful lot more about "people like you" (as you put it) than it does about many others on the thread. I know who's company I'd rather be in.
  13. And some would be going "ugh... No one died... No pyro, no party"
  14. 3 times: West Brom Twice: Leeds, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich And they say variety is the spice of life apparently....!
  15. I'd be adding Andy King to that list but have accepted the fact that we won't. Mr dependable whenever called upon and experience in droves.
  16. No. And too bloody right. Should be an absolute top priority. For me, currently player of the season by a country mile. Edit: To clarify, I was responding to both your points, not saying it was too bloody right that we hadn't offered him a contract!!!
  17. But you're not "treated in that way" by the state because of a desire to erode civil liberties....you're "treated in that way" because of the idiots who do do something illegal. I would respectfully suggest your annoyance is aimed in the wrong direction. If it wasn't for coked up, tanked up bell-ends then the police and dogs wouldn't be seen as required. To me, that's the biggest problem in society. No accountability levelled at our peers (i.e. general citizens) and instead being aimed at the public services. * the reason for the inverted commas is that I don't actually understand in what way you feel you were treated...you've admitted that at no time did anyone ask to search you, so it seems the treatment was in having a dog sniff around near where you were?
  18. Out sang Forest all night, but that's not difficult when you only hear them once every 15/20 minutes though. Dreadful home crowd. Even we put it to shame. Played very well overall and could have won it, but then equally also could've lost it. They got in behind us on the right an awful lot in the first half especially, but I don't really blame McCrorie solely for that - as always he was left horribly exposed by Mehmeti's inability/unwillingness/lack of instructions to track back in support. Max pulled off some very good saves, but still needs to start commanding his 6 yard box. I thought Williams - once again - was outstanding on the night. Absolutely controlled central midfield all night. Joe absolutely needs a new deal and failure to have those discussions and have them now would constitute gross negligence on the clubs part. Arguably the player of the season, he's proven that his injury woes are behind him and he can cope with Sat-Wed-Sat workload. Genuinely don't know what else he needs to do. Special mention also to Andy King. He and Williams controlled central midfield for large parts of the match and if only that shot had gone in it would have been nothing more than he deserved. Sammy had a cracker of a game as well. Especially considering he spent most of it in the unfamiliar wing back role. Such a shame he missed, but I kinda thought he would when he only gave himself a 3 step run up. I hate pens like that. He should absolutely hold his head high though after the preceding 120 minutes.
  19. I can see where you're getting confused.... but their stands have tears, not tiers.
  20. Ah....it must be that time of the year again. This story is as traditional as a Bond movie on a Bank Holiday.
  21. Dinning was a fantastic signing at the time in fairness. He was superb during his loan spell and we were all clamouring for his permanent signing. Little were we to know that after signing the contract instead of downing the pen, he downed tools. Still....we as a fanbase have learned from this and always approach turning excellent loans into permanent moves with much trepidation....*cough* Tomlin *cough*
  22. Apt that you've used a Vampire Weekend song about Mannings reign. Our weekends suck too.
