  1. I know the league form and results have been sketchy at best however, our cup performances have really looked good. If Manning can replicate those performances in the league we will do well.

Though reading a lot of comments on here about being out of hid depth, he won't see the season out, how long till he gets sacked. These are all comments I have read this week.

Again being “pissed off” frustrated etc is pretty normal and I’m sure as a football fan you’ll have felt that way yourself, it doesn’t mean you up sticks and change allegiance.

At 51 years old I struggle to change my socks these days.

Without resorting to personal abuse, @BS3_RED stated “if watching City pisses you off this much you can go and watch the gas, you won’t be missed” thereby stating that anyone against his/her post was a rovers fan. Life is a bit more nuanced than that! @IdliketoRogerMoore was clearly being sarcastic, but that nuance was lost.So far from me needing to “learn to read” or others being “idiots”, it might be appropriate, y’know, not to be a dick in the opening post?

"If watching City really pisses you off that much, you can always go and watch the sags. You wont be missed."

That is not calling anyone a sag. Just saying that there is another option locally to watch football if watching City pisses someone off that much.

Have you sobered up now BTW?

Yep but the post stands as written.

IMO Manning has taken a huge amount of flack on here. It's easy to see if you pay attention ( not a dig).

Yes he is trying to find the teams style and identity and it's a little hit and miss atm but he needs time.

We are safe this season, NP has gone and nothing can change that. I personally ( as I have commented on several occasions) don't think the football was any better under NP ( how many games did we throw away in injury time from sitting back?)

Yes there were some signs of improvement this year but I really think the board had made their decision about letting him go back before the summer ( lack of transfer support would indicate this) and once made I dont think they were ever going to go back on it.

    Mate.

This is the most bollocks argument ever.

Someone disagrees with you - they must be gas!

You clearly care, and that’s laudable. But your methodology of making your point is absolutely ridiculous. Hes not gas. Hes just reacting to a frankly ridiculous post.

Dude, he called me gas ffs. Learn to read.

If.we are playing that game, the laat paragraph yes Leeds are in a rich vein of form but..

    Birmingham 1 Leeds 0

    Preston 2 Leeds 1

    Rotherham 1 Leeds 1

    Stoke 1 Leeds 0

    Sunderland 1 Leeds 0

    West Brom 1 Leeds 0

Yeah we may well lose, Leeds may well outplay anyway but we have to give ourselves the best possible chance. On the road notably, Leeds have not been infallible.

and yet are second in the table on a great run and looking to go straight back up.

  7. I should add, would I have sacked NP...no. Would I have renewed his contract...no.

None of that is on Manning though and I can see the pattern of play that he is trying to achieve. Under NP we soaked up pressure and NEVER looked comfortable in the last ten minutes. We would sit back and back and would let the oppo score. At least under Manning we try and play (it does not always work YET)

Oh and Leeds squad is worth 5 times ours, so get a grip with the Leeds shite.

Surely you can see that this is the main gripe many people had with the decision? We were in touch with the top 6 when Pearson was sacked.

Ive never been angry with Manning, I really want him to do well. My issue was with the timing and the fact that Pearson could’ve been backed more in the Summer after the sale of Scott.

I can guarantee you that every City fan unhappy with the way Pearson was treated still wants Manning to succeed. No City fan wants City to lose.

I really feel that that are a lot on here ( from reading their posts) who want Manning to fail just so it backs up their view that NP should not have been sacked.

    What a weird post

Manning has barely taken any stick and only very few shouting for him to be sacked , it's all directed at Tinnion and Lansdown

We are far from the play off challengers they hoped for in making the change

Manning  has got loads on here. If you dont see that then you are as biased as the rest.

People earlier commenting on how they hoped Eustice would not take the Blackburn job so he could take over here when Manning is sacked.

All it does is show your ignorance of how recruitment works at Bristol City

Not really as all I said was that I imagine the manager would probably be in charge of who we sign. Ignorance would be you thinking you know any better.

Wasn't it Tinnion that said his team will go out and find the players and then present their recommendation to the manager?

Probably but a "recommendation" still puts the ball in Nige's course to decide.

I personally wouldn't judge that window anyway as there was no money to spend until AS was sold. Cornick was a gamble and Anis on paper could have been cracking signing.

I was just answering TV Tom's question.

Personally think this has been a decent window certainly compared to a year ago, who had the bright idea of brining Cornick in and wasting a million on Memheti last January?

Nige I would imagine as he was manager.

This summer could see us lose James, Williams, Conway, Wells, Pring, Twine, Cornick and King from the current squad. Some rightly and some wrongly but that is 8 senior players.  Another summer of overhaul.

The good thing is that I'm only gutted about losing Pring ( though would be for a good wedge of cash) and Conway.

Twine was/ is not currently an option.

The rest can go. Large wages for some, inconsistent for others or in Wells and Kings case, their best years have passed.

Under Pearson we were averaging 1.29 PPG this season, under Manning we are averaging 1.21.

That's basically one more win over the course of a season under Pearson. So we've not regressed not have we got better, we've stayed where we were.

We're on to finish with 59/60 points at the end of the season, so absolutely 0 progress from last season as things stand!

    Spot on.

It was crap under Pearson and its still crap under Manning.
