Lets just remember that Conway and Brittain have scored as many league goals in their combined minutes (200?) as Semenyo has in two years and were keeping him out of the side at the end of the season, appreciate there is more to his game than that but if the £5m can be used to sort out other area's of the team then I would be happy enough to see the likes of Brittain, Conway and Bell be blooded next season in a more settled team.

Whether it's 4 or 5m this would only presumably be the initial transfer fee, the bigger thing for me would be what future add ons are included in the deal I.e. International caps, sell-on clauses etc if these are higher than the normal then 4 to 4.5 would probably be a decent enough deal.

The ECB has probably decided on a period of 3 weeks or so that each player is to have outside of the bubble rather than specific matches. Stokes and Archer had there time off during the Sri Lankan series, Bairstow is currently having his and will be back out for the last two tests and ODI seres as will Buttler. The rest of the squad are Test only players so it doesn't affect them as much as there time in the bubble will naturally come to an end after the 4th Test.

Agree all the players who will be involved in the ODI / T20 series will have been given some time at home during the Sri Lanka and India Test tours, I don't think Root will play in the limited overs games for this reason as he will have done the full stint (10 weeks?) by this point.

Buttler missing from your list as well whould presumably bat at 6, certainly no lower than 7. With the amount of Test cricket to be played this year there should be plenty of oppurtunity for all of them to push their case. Its a shame Bairstow didn't get a big score today as he could have added his name to the ever growing list as well.
