  1. Thanks for checking. I was only 11 at the time but I have some memory that this game was on Match of the Day. Great photo, including the rarely seen Y design on the York City shirts.
  2. I was also in the open end. My mum took me and we followed the crowds and ended up in the “away” corner of the open end. Stoke fans were vastly outnumbered by City fans. Other than the horror injury I remember how green the grass was. City claimed they were only using bath water during the 76 hosepipe ban.
  3. Of course the quality is below standard but i really appreciate the effort. Is there a link to other video footage similarly saved? In particular the first 1976/7 home fixture vs Stoke City was my first City game and I don’t recall ever watching footage of the game.
  4. The Manchester United historian has confirmed that prior to Mohammed Salah the last players to score hat-tricks for away sides at Old Trafford in the League were Dennis Bailey and before that Kevin Mabbutt. Manchester United 0 v 5 Liverpool, Premiership Matchday 09, 24th October 2021, Season 2021-2022, Venue:Old Trafford (mufcinfo.com) Mohamed Salah 1st player to score a opponent hat- trick at Old Trafford since Read Madrid's Ronaldo 12', 50', 59' on 23/04/2003, last player to score an opponent hat-trick at Old Trafford in a League match was QPR's Dennis Bailey 5', 58', 86' on 01/01/1992.
  5. News from Holland, government set to approve starting date for the Eredivisie, top league, on September 11. This will follow the UEFA Nations League international fixture round. Crowds will be permitted with a maximum crowd of one third capacity. Chanting and singing will not be permitted to reduce risk. French government have given the green light for crowds of up to 5,000. The direction of travel is clear. The message was previously no large crowds before a vaccine is available to the wider public. Don’t expect any early announcement but the English authorities will closely monitor the plans of other European nations.
  6. Dutch league decision is subject to appeal. While the decision works well for Willem II it is tough on Cambuur. Happy Kings Day to those from Holland. Blijf veilig iedereen.
