That is to mend broken heads. With holes in buckets you need straw, that must not be too long and if it is it will need cutting with a sharp knife which will need a wet stone to sharpen it, in order to wet the stone you will need water which will need a bucket to collect it. Essentially this analogy means that the gas are fugged.

Sure, but the Championship was not in existence back then so how could you have known it to be Championship ready?

I think that players can be transferred or have their contracts not renewed or terminated by mutual consent. Sacrifice would be a bit extreme, and possibly illegal.
