I really like the Coach & Horses in Soho. Quite a famous pub with its links to journalists (Private Eye & Jeffery Bernard), actors and rock stars. I had no idea it was famous when I went in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon, just thought "this is nice!" I think London has some great pubs. https://www.coachandhorsessoho.pub/gallery

I did too! I remember going in there for the first time, as a 17 year old when it was a biker pub, I was terrified! Used to go in there quite a bit, until they changed it.

Leave him alone! I always find his threads interesting. Re the bit in bold: I don't really see why that should be a problem. I don't engage in many debates on here (mostly because I don't have the energy or inclination for an argument, or I have nothing of interest to add).

I used to go hang out in Bath (late 80s - early 00s) and most of the pubs in the city centre then, were scruffy with their own unique character. It's a real shame that particular vibe has disappeared. *Many of those pubs have been "Farrow & Balled" with their dark wood panelling painted cream and turned into a gastropub. *Apart from The Bell in Walcot Street, of course.

I was just about to say, The Man Who Sold the World is my favourite too. I didn’t discover it until about 20 years ago. Has more of an edgy weirdness about it, fabulous.

I think it’s to call out Qatar and it’s stance on gay rights, nothing more.

According to The Price of Football podcast, it apparently will cost an England fan over £7000 to watch every game in Qatar. The main problem being the price of accommodation. They are considering using cruise ships. I won’t be going anyway.
