  1. I know a lot of people his age that look worse tbh (Madonna for one , state of it) ..he looks fine imo. Considering his illness etc.
  2. Blimey Lew...I'd be here all week explaining. At the time of his tenure, I was often the one on here going against the grain as to his efficiency here, and after promotion it proved true. He did a marvellous job in getting promotion, but he and the club were going in different directions so to speak. I don't blame him...I blame the club for appointing a manager that was the wrong fit long term, but short term it worked out. We are talking the days of Burt and Pelling, FFP implications, Contract promises broken, Academy being pushed...lots was going on. He ran out of ideas and backing. He imo, is a good honest league 1 and 2 manager.
  3. I was never a fan of SC when he was at City...but that doesn't mean I don't think he can do a good job at other clubs. I too hope he keeps them up and progresses. I'm also not a big fan of Dale Vince, but admire anyone that has a passion they believe in. He did interviews today, that also came across as humble, admitting he'd made wrong decisions in appointing managers over the past couple seasons. Pointing out that he thought at the time he'd made the right decisions, but they proved wrong. It was refreshing to hear an owner admit that.
  4. Oh well...wooshed...no big deal. Could actually see it happening though. Didn't GCCC have hot tubs on the boundary once for twenty twenty...or did I imagine that? Did I get wooshed on the KKK day out at Fulham as well?
  5. Thanks RR. Yes I'm extremely proud of the lad, his brothers and family. They are so dedicated and have made so many sacrifices to go on a journey and reach their dreams of becoming World Cup Racers. These results are like Wales winning the youth World Cup in football. You'd be surprised by how many Brits Ski. We have the third largest amount in the world. https://www.statista.com/topics/3759/winter-sports-in-the-uk/#topicOverview Ski racing was invented by Arnold Lunn...he if Lunn Poly, back in the day. We presently have three racers in WC Slalom who are doing great. All three top 20 in Kitzbuhel last week. They are doing it on a shoestring compared to the resources of the Alpine nations. Just shows, hard work, dedication and sacrifices can make your dream reality.
  6. Getting ridiculous now...he's only gone and won Gold this morning in the Slalom Two Golds and a silver...this is nuts for Alpine skiing.
  7. All they need now with Cotts is Chris Martin to join.
  8. I know I'm talking to myself here but the lad only went and won silver in the GS this morning wtf Talent.
  9. Yes they did. Whether fans like him or not ( allegedly he was a right shit stirrer in the changing rooms and part of a clique that if they didn't like you...) I think it's great that the Club and the Former footballers association are now recognising our former players, including them and having them engage with fans. That's a massive positive for me. For both.
  10. Bristol City Trilogy Seems I got a bargain...average price sold is nearly £15 https://www.discogs.com/release/15344361-Shag-Connors-Carrot-Crunchers-Bristol-City-Trilogy
  11. Here's a video of it if anyone's interested. Real piece of history being made for GB ski racing. And we blooming invented ski racing https://olympics.com/en/gangwon-2024/video/men-s-alpine-combined-slalom-alpine-skiing-highlights-winter-youth-olympic-games
  12. I collect vinyl records...I picked this single up last year for 50p in Plastic Wax records on Gloucester Rd. Shag Conners and the Carrot Crunchers. And it's signed
  13. ...was so proud this morning for my friends son Zak winning Gold for GB at the youth Winter Olympics in Korea, in the Super combined SG and SL. Emma and her husband have three sons all representing GB at youth level and have big dreams of making the World Cup circuit. They all work so so hard and so dedicated. It's been great watching their progress from afar ( based in Tignes France ) over the years. They are super talented lads and have a dedicated mother and father helping them in a financially hard sport to compete in, especially against the Alpine Nations. Such an amazing result. Keep an eye out for the name Carrick Smith. https://olympics.com/gangwon-2024/en/results/alpine-skiing/results-men-s-alpine-combined-fnl-0001sg-.htm
  14. I think the 'problem' in the room, is how much respect he has from the players here, that could undermine Manning and his sidekick. Under an older head like Nige...not a problem.
  15. He'd do a job at either Cheltenham or FGR. Could stay local. And keep on taking his coaching badges. Lots of experience on and off the pitch to offer.
  16. I agree...like every 'formation' there is nothing perfect. But like you I remembered how it worked under Nige. Dependent on the Defensive midfielder dropping and CBS sliding. It worked. That DM and ' 10' are key for me. Points of contact that leave others a lot of movement. With James and Naismith we have it. With Dickie and Atkinson two CBs that can break lines with DM covering. Offensive fullbacks. Twine in the Scott roll. TGH, Knight, Mehmetti, Williams all have a pass in them. Sykes...the new Weimann. Lots of options in that set up.
  17. 41212 for me. 4 defenders with two ' flying' fullbacks. 3 midfielders, 1 defensive, 2 creative. The 1 defensive midfielder sits deeper to cover when fullback goes offensive, CB slides across. 2 creative midfielders. Someone like Twine or Knight to sit as the '10' behind the front two. Two ' Strikers'... Something along the lines of... ________________Max__________________ McCrorie _Vyner___Dickie______Pring _______________James________________ ___Knight_____________________TGH___ ________________Twine________________ ______Sykes____________Conway______ We have players in depth now that could cover and play in each of those positions. Naismith for James Tanner for McCrorie. Sykes for Knight Wells/Bell for Sykes Atkinson as CB. Benourous and Knight for Twine. Mehmetti for TGH and so on....
  18. He's actually a really nice bloke. Played golf with him a few times. His missus was/ is an Interior designer from memory. Don't think he deserves the flack he gets from some, as explained further up the thread, his hands were tied in many ways.
  19. I've started putting ear buds in
  20. We did...they wouldn't give us the code as they said we maybe stealing it... We were arguing with them for ages about it, whilst the poor bloke was lying on the floor of the pub. The defib was on the side of the Police station wall. No one was in ...it wasn't open. Thankfully a copper turned up for work, ran in and got the code for us. Ridiculous...
  21. Totally with you on that Dave, sadly the majority follow the narrative and January is a quiet damp Squibb, when it should be just a normal month. I absolutely hate Xmas...had to endure Christmas songs on repeat from the middle of November until January at work. Worse than Chinese water torture
