I see that Everton have gained investment from a real billionaire today, my question is why didn't Wally invest into them?
Because in football terms he's worth about a fiver

Probably only held 6000. Look how small the terrace area was. Absolutiely nuts evening.
We had all the lower tier of the stand to our right as well though.

Why do some persist in seeing Wagstaff only as a winger - a rather dated term too
Well he's certainly no defensive mid but as stated above he's perfect for this situation.

Tomlin was probably tiring and Wagstaff, whom I rate, is only defensive midfield player we have available
He's a winger

Bit worried about the lack of protection in front the back four without super Korey.

?? umm no
Well four posts from you plus a few others who have just joined would suggest otherwise . You'll all calm down when you realise that if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

There was a film once, I forget the title, but there was this aesthetically pleasing girl who didn't have much going on upstairs, no substance, but nonetheless had no trouble in attracting the star quarterback
Unnoticed, a nerdy girl secretly wanted the same bloke. Of course she had no chance of that prize. She had plenty of potential but she was nothing to look at.
Then remarkably a transformation took place, the nerdy girl was now stunningly attractive, her potential has been realised and she had her eye on the prize.
The empty-headed girl of course thought nothing could make nerdy girl as attractive as her and that her quarterback boyfriend was safe. She told her equally dim-witted friend that she was still the more desirable and no one would look at the transformed girl, not understanding that she had a lot more about her, she had substance, she had potential.
Of course in the end she got her prize quarterback. The air-head girl was left bitter and didn't really understand how it'd all happened. She'd been in denial that the ugly duckling could ever rise above her and actually be stronger, but her denial was her undoing.
After a while, people lost interest in the once-popular girl, forgetting that there was once a time when she had all the attention. People were much more interested in the once nerdy girl who now had it all.
Yeah that!
Do you realise he's not worth anything like you lot think he is don't you ?
You've sold your soul to a middle eastern bloke worth about £70m
Lansdown is worth £2bn
Carry on with your delusion though , it's the only thing you're good at .

This was very interesting reaidng from gasincider:
So maybe the takeover has already happened with Higgs selling a 36% stake.
Hope the buyer wasn't Steve Lansdown.
One person is not allowed to own a stake in more than any one football club in this country and hasn't been since Robert Maxwell owned Oxford and Derby back in the 80's

This is why we need a new manager now, someone who will get rid of players like Ayling who clearly are a laibility at this level
He made a mistake but he's good enough at this level. Bit of a overreaction

um I think they are here already,,, we have no money don't you know...certainly not for a proven goalscorer at this level.....to busy with the Bristol Sport dream
Bristol sport are no more than a marketing company, nothing to do with the running of the football club . Get over it ffs

TBF I don't think anyone's actually mentioned that we're doing OK at the moment and err, you're not. Somebody has mentioned that there could be a Bristol Derby next season but personally, I don't believe it will happen.
FWIW I think there are at least 3 teams worse then city in the championship this season. As long as the crowd gets behind the players, you are more than capable of grinding out a couple of good results to lift you clear of trouble.
I have been an avid follower of NLBR and Basement Rovers topics but haven't posted regularly on OTIB for years. Those threads epitomise the rivalry between our clubs. Some genuinely witty banter that I might be tempted to engage in, and a lot of OTT blind hatred. Happens on our forum too as well as pubs and workplaces throughout the region.
I'm well past all that bullshit these days and I have more respect for a shed than a Bristolian who supports a prem side. Although I suspect most of you are glory hunters from Somerset who should be supporting Yeovil ...
Well i'm glad you've had a little bite and by the way i'm from Kingswood ( brought up not dragged). I do like the fact you think some City fans are glory hunters ha ha ha ha , after all we've had so much glory down the years.
Don't let the bitterness eat you up, it's not worth it.

I'm loving this; will be fascinating to see if we see these 'guests' again if/when we maintain our Championship status, and 'they' fail to get out of the basement.
We never saw much of them when they weren't in the playoffs and we were outside the relegation zone. Always the way...
Yeah it's not like we get these deluded ***** on here every season is it.
Lets see if they come back on after they've lost their court appeal.
-
You got to love these basement dwellers coming on here after a few wins giving it the big un. Mind you i suppose they're doing ok , after all they've only been a league club a few months.

Yeah but I don't want to get rid of him. Although I do blame Cotts for the general transfer failings. Clearly a bit too optimistic with his targets.
No sentiment in football though. He doesn't change formation, he's pig headed to say the least. Look at today, 2-0 at half time we obviously need to go for because we were getting thumped anyway. We have a proven championship striker on the bench and he doesn't even get on.
As regards the summer, you are right. Who chooses the transfer targets, the manager. SL has already stated the money was there for wages.
-

I'd give him until after Middlesborough at home, if things haven't improved I think I'd be edging into the Cotts out camp. That way it allows the new manager to have the back end of January
What good is that. If we are going to get someone in then he will need the whole month of the transfer window.
I hoped it would work out for him but it isn't. Serious lack of flexibility to his management

Ooooh, are we suggesting City are too big time now to look at players from non league?
Luke Vardy , Charlie Austin are two examples why there are some gems in non league , so no we will never be too big not to look at non league . I think its being suggested that your lot can only really look at non league in your current position . Although i forgot you are the Barcelona of league two.
-
We were in a no win situation today. If we got beat we get slaughtered and if we won we were supposed to. The underdogs always raise their game and we were off ours by 20% especially in the last third. A tricky tie and we got through it. Next.
-
Brighton fan said earlier he's never played midfield ,that bit on wikipedia ain't true. He's a centre half.

Going back a bit.......1988 I think.........League Cup Q/F took 2,500 of which i was one........won 1-0 goalscorer could have been Alan Walsh, then went back to my overnight guesthouse for two or a few ....and heard we had Notts Forest in the semis next morning.........good times
Brilliant night and amazing atmosphere, Walshy scored in the second minute and we clung on. Jordan was going mental ha ha .
