as opposed to them selling it to a distribution company and moving to Clifton RFC for example

I spoke to someone who had supported Bristol for decades .He had no ties to City or your lot but knew what had been going on when your lot bought the stadium. He told me that all memorabilia of Bristol RFC had been chucked into a skip even while they were still playing there and nobody would ever know that it was a rugby stadium, they were also made to feel unwelcome in their own home. Your excuse of a club has a history of being underhand and lacking class .

No one said it will be a Cat 2 academy in months.

It is going.to be prepared so the first team can train. The rest is all part of a longer term plan.

ignoring all the Bristol/Dwane Sport franchise shit a second, 29.acres dont buy themselves and the work that goes into it costs. Its a step forward and we all have to start somewhere. Ashton Gate wasnt built in a day etc. Everything happens over time (hopefully)

Well yes but knowing some of your lots delusions, they'll be thinking it'll be ready for next season .

well i dont expect buying 29 acres is a cheap. Skint obviously

He's probably borrowed the money and put the debt against the club. If any of you think you're going to get a cat 2 academy up and running in a matter of months you're way off. It cost us £3m to get it to cat 2 and that was upgrading. You're starting from scratch so that's probably 6-10 million and £1.5m per year to run. Good luck with that.

He's joined the Evil Empire and we just have to get over it, dust ourselves off and carry on without our shape-shifting reptilian.

I wonder where Lansdown will choose to play him?

Matty is very versatile, and clearly will play for anyone if the money is right.

Could it be the rugby boys?  Or perhaps the hockey or badminton teams?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  what a bellend. I love how you have looked up our fixture list as well. Be honest, you are safe so the rest of the season all of you will be concentrating on our results (like you don't anyway. Hoping upon hope we go down. Do you still flash our score up on your pathetic scoreboard at Chernobyl when we concede a goal you fucking belters

I think like most football clubs the gas have some ******* brain dead idiots. In fact some of the chants after the barrow game from 'our faithful and true' were embarrassing.  As soon as Wael took over some gasheads started to give it some big un - (But come on,we have had to put up with some grade, A shit talking from your mob over the years.. even Ive read some on this thread today) so at the time some gasheads had there release.

Wael and his family are very, very rich people and have business minds and the contacts to get us to the premiership given time. You are lucky to have lansdown.I just believe you as a club would be much closer to where you should be aiming for if it wasn't for his ego and reckless spending in the past.

As for hear say about the UWE.. I don't buy into rumours and the like about the uwe or anything. As if its rumoured that the grounds not happening, gasheads go into meltdown, some of your mob get off on it.

Under wael I'm 99.5% sure BRFC will be playing in a new stadium,be it at the UWE or elsewhere in the championship within 5 years.

Sorry but what have you been smoking . He's wealthy in everyday terms but not in a football sense he's not , nowhere near it and premier league really !!! You keep deluding yourself mate. You haven't even been in the championship for over 20 years and couldn't even get 9000 for a big league game last weekend. You're living in pixie land down buttercup lane

I know this is a wind up post wanting a bite, but it's very hard to gauge respective crowds until we are in the UWE.

For example - this past year we have had ... for the first time ever! someone at board level that wants to take us places, and have the funds and contacts to do this -and our gates have rised to a season avg of over 8k last season, and a current avg of 9.2k so far this season. The mem is shocking.....truely shocking and even tho old ashton gate was a palace compared to the mem and it puts off many people going.

It's not a knock at you,but you wouldn't have got 10k for yesterday's game two seasons ago before the rebuild.A new ground,or a rebuild like yours helps every club that gets one. Look at Swansea, Hull, reading Wigan etc... they all have increased,if not double the crowds once in new arenas and all were getting the same or less at home the we were before relegation in 2014.

Rovers in the UWE would see a huge increase in there drawling power, just like every club does.We have never -  as fans been afforded good facilities or investment like you have with lansdown or Davidson etc.  The next 5 years once in the UWE will see what BRFC could really do.

You haven't got the funds though have you ?

I'm sorry but you are wrong, just wrong.Kingswood is 99% Gas even with comment about the younger generation -  just like Bedminster in 99% City. There's always pockets of both sides in each others historical heartlands but let' use tinted colour glasses glaze over the truth..

Until a year and a half ago I used to live, and work in knowle.Just off the top of my head I can count 50 gasheads that I used to serve at my old job daily that I got to know through banter and the same number of city fans as well.Does that mean knowle is now Gas land? Of course not.

I've always said that if you asked the football fans that live in the Bristol area which football team that they support I think City would have 25/30k fans and Rovers would have 23/28k.That does not mean that these people go to games, but if asked they follow one of the two bristol clubs as there first choice club and that are spread through out our fine city of ours.

Let's use some common sense and logic here.

Absolute bollocks . I've lived in kingswood all my life and yes it was heavily tipped in your favour in the eighties and early nineties but not now, nowhere near it . I'd say 60/40 towards the blue few but no more than that . It's unlike your lot to fib about things mind .

    Get f*cked  mate

I've been posting on here for 11 years. I openly congratulated Johnson keeping us up ....but I stand by what I said from the beginning. He's the wrong man for the job, he isn't good enough. Only got the the job because he was Lansdowns mate

Don't get your knickers in a twist because I was right and so many of you muppets who thought we had this 'young potential coach' were wrong

Look i agree things aint great and i'm far from a happy clapper i can assure you but you are constantly negative. I'll admit i'm worried ,not just with results but some of his decisions as well . He's a young manager who will make mistakes and we got young players who will do the same plus most teams have bad runs in this league and i'm willing to give him more time. I couldn't give a shit how long you been posting on here , it doesn't mean to say you know what you're talking about.

Easy there Serge, not sure you should be knocking their loyal fans.

Especially at a time where they are having a collective Barclays about NEARLY selling out the swamp for boxing day...

    http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/8800/less-000-tickets-left-boxing

I'd be surprised if they didn't sell out. Boxing Day usually has a bigger attendance and they haven't played a club as big as cov in the league for at least 16 years

he said firm hold, not set in, nobody can argue that things are not going well

You're right things ain't going well but we have a pretty young inexperienced squad. It will ebb and flow all season. We need to stop conceding poor goals as we did at Birmingham , reading and Huddersfield . We are creating lots of chances though that simply haven't been taken . Birmingham away , we battered them second half and played some fantastic football that needed finishing off. Personally if we can bring in a proven goal scorer at this level in January we'll finish comfortably half way. Way too much pressure on Tammy at 19 to be our main striker.

My point is that SL decision over his contract provided him with a comfort zone too early in his career

I do believe in Lee but whether it is bad luck or something else his success may come in the future elsewhere

Nobody is bigger than the club

Listen to yourself again for god sake. You are hinting he should be replaced. The bloke hasn't been in charge a year yet, it takes a lot longer to build not only a team but a club. You claim to have been supporting us for years yet you have learned nothing of the ups and downs of a football season, especially in this league. We are where i expected us to be, we have a very young squad who are learning all the time. You are nothing but a complete pessimist ,give it a rest.
