Got into running a few years ago after doing my ACL playing footy. Used to hate it but really enjoy it now, done 350k ish this year and generally only do 5-7k at a time. Came 5th in parkrun couple weeks ago (ok there were only about 40 runners but still!) and the only person I’m competitive against is myself and my good friend Strava but that works for me.

Fab tournament isn’t it, have enjoyed watching it in the mornings. Great to see a decent English representation over there, think Root should open the batting with Buttler for the Thunder though, let Watson come in and smash it about later on and allow Root to play more naturally.

Just had a look at Rovers’ line up - genuinely never heard of any of them before other than Lockyer and the ever so prolific Nichols currently warming his rear on the bench.

While I have no sympathy for those involved or condone their actions in any way, seems extreme to be still trying to trace them 3 months after the incident following 1 photo appeal already issued via the press. While this kind of thing has no place at a football match, neither does shop lifting at Asda or a punch up at Ascot but I doubt these two examples would have been pursued quite so relentlessly. Hardly crime of the century, surely just use the police football spotters and lift them at the next Rovers game they're spotted at / in the pub before hand at a 'risk'game.

I heard Andrew Strauss explain that they wanted to try it in England prior to the Ashes this winter to prevent the team going in with no previous day/night experience before the Adelaide game. You're right about test crowds being good in England but with West Indies being so mediocre perhaps this is the ideal game to do it, not sure sales for the first 3 days would have been so high without the intrigue of the first day nighter in England.

Terrible game won by a very good goal, Cardiff were woeful especially. Let them enjoy their trip to Stamford Bridge, reckon they deserve one decent day out. We'll just have to console ourselves with trips to places like Villa Park, Elland Road, St James Park, Molineux and er the Pirelli Stadium week in week out.
