  1. Yep they feel Babar especially has a slight weakness again genuine pace, Wood exposed this in the ODI tournament recently. Whether the same works on these pitches we will see but I’m glad we have a point of difference and not many quicker in the world than Wood right now
  2. Interesting article on the BBC Sport website about this Test, including: On a featureless travesty of a cricket pitch that categorically refused to deteriorate ?
  3. That was because of the ball that England had roughed up bowling bouncers earlier in the innings and their skill, and nothing to do with the pitch
  4. The pitch didn’t deteriorate at all
  5. Nice little rendition of the Wurzels there!
  6. Exactly and quite right too. Gives Pakistan a realistic chance of winning which in turn increases our chances. They’ve talked the talk and I’m glad they’re walking the walk, I’d have no complaints if we lose from this position
  7. We’ve declared apparently, correct decision if so and love the intent
  8. We are revolutionising Test cricket, fantastic!
  9. Still can’t get my head around that decision
  10. The fact Southgate feels the need for Henderson to make us solid against the USA tells me all I need to know
  11. One of the best young players England have ever had, yet Jordan Henderson is the answer when we need a goal. Wilson, Maddison too ignored
  12. Pathetic. How on earth can you justify not playing Foden?
  13. I wasn’t there today but just reading some of these comments. I’m 38 so didn’t see the City in the 70s and 80s, I imagine back then when someone was injured from the opposition the post-match chat wouldn’t have been about whether the fans were empathetic enough! Even in the 90s it wasn’t. When I ruptured my ACL I crawled off the pitch with zero interest let alone empathy from the opposition
  14. Stokes will be 3 and Salt in the middle order I’d think
  15. Exactly, why is Tanner’s rightly punished yet Norwood’s ignored?
  16. This game demonstrates how much we rely on Scott and Conway, very little quality in the final third
  17. A good read indeed. ‘Notorious cuntleroy’ is my new favourite insult
  18. Same, would have been really exciting to see him manage this group of players
  19. We need the footballing equivalent of Brendon McCullum to come in, remove the fear of failure and let the players show their talent. Southgate is too meek and conservative, he did very well to get us to a semi final and final in the last 2 tournaments but we need someone to take us to the next level and get the best out of this fantastic group of players.
  20. What constitutes football disorder, to me, seems to have changed in the last few years. We now have idiots in pitch invasions attacking players, throwing bottles / objects from stands, pyro related issues. Cowardly acts, these seem to be the main problems. less fan v fan trouble, running battles in the streets or stands and organised violence. Unless you count groups of lads shouting ‘come on then’ while hopping up and down liked coked up meerkats, live streaming on Tikbook or Instachat.
  21. To the tune of Echo Beach (I accept cash or cheques)... I know he’s full of passion And a trifle uncool But Kal can’t help it, just so good on the ball It’s a habit of mine To watch Luton go down On Weston Beach To watch Luton go down From three to five You know I’m never gonna shirk Nathan Jones is very boring He’s a ******* berk The only thing that helps me pass the time away Is knowing I’ll be back at Weston beach one day
