  1. Not much more to say on the opening 25 minutes is there?! It was woeful. I jokingly said to my son when James was down with his injury that he was probably fine, just milking it so we could have a tactical reshuffle and verbal rocket!

Roberts being hooked was inevitable once we switched it up, but looks to me like he got the hump about it as he didn’t resurface second half and was not on the pitch at the end to celebrate the win with the team.

  2. Chatting to Plymouth fan at work today, he could not understand the number of changes they made. That totally backfired for them. There should have been no concern over fatigue given it was only second game back after the international break. And they had played well at Preston despite losing. In that context, the 7 changes were perplexing.
From a City perspective though, what a night! Took my son along and he’s never seen us take a team apart like this and he commented it was the best atmosphere in ages. Great display of attacking intent and desire from every single player. COYR

Missed the opening goal because of the queue

Did Bell get official credit for it as my mate said it was a OG on his app?

It was given to Bell despite what the sky sports app said at the time! Was going in before the deflection.

Dunno why.  Him and Dickie, even with a sending off we’re better than Tanner and Vyner.

Absolutely. Vyner was playing like the one we all thought would be offloaded at the start of last season and Tanner couldn’t control a simple pass or make any attacking plays into Cornick.

Reckon we won’t see too many changes beyond the enforced ones.
    Naismith in for Dickie.
Sykes and Wells to start, Mehmeti and Cornick benched.

Turns out I was spot on! Not a massive surprise really. Pleased to see Cam Pring retain the left back spot. Didn’t do much wrong for me on Saturday but seemed to be a scapegoat for our lack of performance

  5. Fantastic news…not least because I just shelled out on having his name and number printed on the back of my son’s new shirt!

He is our favourite player and for me was easily in our top three performers last season. I hope Pearson keeps the faith with him over Roberts.

I understood that the Oxford game was cancelled after we were drawn against them in the Carabao Cup. However, it appears that it is back on the fixture list again for Sat 22nd July at 3pm.

Either I dreamt that it was cancelled or my old age is playing tricks again!

    ?

    Apologies!!!

No need for an apology. I was just confused and thought I’d missed it. We have two games that day right? Back to back against Newport then Oxford. Likely to mix and match across the two games?

Mucks up pre-season for City with the next (now first) game next Tuesday.

Maybe an 11 v 11 within the club tomorrow  ?

We’ll likely see a more competitive game internally than we would have got against the team they can put out currently. Hopefully not too disruptive to the preseason schedule.

They had a first team squad out in Spain and the Youth development squad played at Torquay

That ‘first team’ squad is primarily kids. They have very few senior players. Absolute mess of a club. Officially without a manager still as Selles yet to be confirmed. They’re in serious trouble.

Well, I did have two £5 gift vouchers from the rewards scheme that I intended to use for the new City shirt, but they also went the way of the Dodo come the end of May !

Whilst typing this message, I thought I'd check out the rewards page which is still under maintenance, and has been for a few weeks...

The vouchers will have been sent to you by email with a pin included. They can be used in the online shop or in store. They are still valid.

    So City think ....

"The Third shirt harks back to City’s look in the late 80s, inspired by the Robins’ yellow shirt and socks, and green shorts worn between 1988 and 1990. It features a one-off modern-style Robin motif as a nod to the one which graced the shirt during those years."

They may be on nodding terms , but they certainly look nothing alike.

Thanks for those close ups - I retract my earlier comment about the badge looking stuck on. Still don’t like it though!
