  1. I scrolled back on the forum to August when Nigel's City came up against Liam's Oxford. LM sounded a good bet for the future;

In March 2023 they appointed Liam Manning as Head Coach. The 37 year old, first came to prominence as coach of the West Ham under-23 side before joining City Football Group and becoming first Director of Coaching at New York City FC and then Head Coach at Lommel FC in Belgium. He then enjoyed a successful spell at MK Dons where he guided the club to the play-off semi-final in his first season. Here is his first interview: https://youtu.be/segtq6fdboI

They finished last season in nineteenth place in league one, enduring a campaign marred by a fling with relegation and a 17-game winless run.

Like us they acted early in the transfer window to snap up the services of Ruben Rodrigues, Jordan Thorniley and Josh McEachran – all on free transfers due to their contracts expiring.

After the Everton debacle; lose ten points, get some back, here we go again, BBC confirm Forest are to lose 4 but then have another day in court to contest the deduction. If Leicester go up they could be deducted up to 10 points before their season starts - so maybe they will deliberately lose to us next Friday and take the hit this season. Again, no mention of 155 charges against Man City

That's because Man C are "A Big Club". Remember when Alan Sugar was in charge at Spurs? They were deducted 24 points for some reason. Alan S appealed against this and had the deduction reduced to twelve points. He still wasn't happy, so appealed again and ended up with zero points deduction.

(Hopefully someone with direct experience can shed some light here…?)

At professional levels of the game, it’s mandatory to hold a minimum level of UEFA Coaching License.

To be admitted to a UEFA coaching diploma course, candidates must:

    - possess sufficient spoken and written skills in the official course language
    - meet the organiser’s admission criteria, which should include an aptitude evaluation
    - submit all admission documents required by the course organiser
    - have no criminal record for crimes incompatible with the coaching profession

  4. A Leeds fan was bragging about how his team is now top of the Championship. I pointed out that Leicester have a game in hand on Leeds and their next game is v Bristol City.

"You're not going to lose are you"? he asked  "On our  current form, yes" was my reply. "You ought to have more faith in your team. If QPR can beat Leicester, you can" was his comment.

Absolutely. 2k max and put 1200 of us in the corner.

But, because BCFC is and always will be too ‘nice’ ( Pearson had this spot on the minute he came in), it wont happen.

The matchday experience is about the club taking customers’ money and not anything at all about making the place hard to go to, or difficult, or nasty.

2k max to any away team going forward.

But we have as much chance of that happening as Mr Manning having a plan b!

I remember Dario Gradi complaining that Ashton Gate was intimidating and then a few years later City wanted to install a bubble machine so that when visitors WHU came out it would make them feel at home.

Anyone have any idea if they’re looking to restructure the leagues at the end of this season or have talks failed again?

If any clubs fold in the next few months, then some relegation spots might not be needed.

I thought he was English? Now playing for wales this month, I’m confused

Meanwhile a player who has represented England at U18 and U19 level has opted to play for Ghana's national team. Being cynical perhaps some players decide "I'm not quite good enough for England, but  I can still be an International elsewhere".

When my son was 18 he said "If I moved to somewhere like Andorra or Gibraltar now, in ten years time I'll be a naturalised citizen and at 28 still young enough to play football for their national team".

  8. The thread that was on here appears to have disappeared. Looking at Youtube, I found

Chester Wrexham was a non league bubble fixture. Loads of English non league derbies are equally fierce.

in England Bath City and Yeovil town is a big non league derby both somerset clubs and not far geographically played recently, but the derby is huge

No he can’t, it is against league rules for a loanee to play against his host club in an EFL match.  So not in his contract, but in the rule book! 😉

August 1997; The next away fixture was at Northampton where Crambe opened the scoring for City. David Seal equalised and then laid on the winner for Northampton. For some reason John Ward permitted him to play against City despite the game falling during the loan period.
