  1. Fair play to the gas heads; they're having a laugh at the Meme catering. https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/16111/beer-food-mem
  2. Harold Jarman. He was a winger, so if City signed him it would have meant dropping Alan Skirton or Gerry Sharpe. I didn't realise HJ is Rovers third highest all time scorer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Jarman
  3. They've been missed off, but not some of their league 1 rivals;
  4. On SSN this morning a Notts Co fan was none too happy about the season being abandoned. It would be unfair on clubs like his who are hoping to finish in a P/O position and regain their League status. Villa and Tranmere are both in relegation spots, but both have played one game less than their rivals, so if the current positions were taken as the final positions, "it would be so unfair".
  5. I mentioned this scenario to a Leeds fan last night. His reaction was typical "But they can't do that to us"! If the season is abandoned, do all yellow & red cards get recinded?
  6. To keep the gambling industry going, the Pools panel might sit for few weeks (just like the 62-63 Winter). Given the results they conjure up, Rovers might still be relegated!
  7. I saw on the news that PSG's game was played behind closed doors, but to little effect as the fans still gathered outside and were celebrating with flares etc in the streets around the ground.
  8. Darren Fergusson, P'boro' Manager has suggested the League shuts now for 2 - 3 weeks then recommences. That would be better financially for clubs in the lower two divs than continuing now to empty stadia. Many lower clubs could be bankrupted if games go ahead with no paying fans.
  9. Oh dear; any plans for move back to Twerton have gone; https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/16064/twerton-park
  10. I am 65 and have failing health. Despite this, I agree 100% with your post.
  11. Never mind coming for us; Rovers; THEY are coming for YOU. Swindon & Plymouth are in the auto promotion slots whilst Cheltenham & Exeter are in the play off zone. Two possibly three localish derbies next season.
  12. Meanwhile, one of their L1 rivals (possibly ours next season) announced a new ground for 2022-2023. Here's the mock up photos. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/people/stunning-photos-reveal-model-new-iconic-peterborough-united-stadium-club-prepares-big-attendance-spike-2072375?fbclid=IwAR2TUo7jeWEyGyqKkDH4IyfjRl2Zaxi2KI3YFwaMvXK5Mt8HoxJh-tZj_cA Rovers; this makes you look even shabbier.
  13. Will the gas be hosting PSG, Monaco, Marseille & Bordeaux etc in future? To combat the spread of coronavirus, the French have decided to have a maximum of just 5,000 attending any gatherings or sporting events. Given the declining attendances at the Mem, Rovers will be the first to adopt this measure.
  14. What goes around..... https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/15614/meltdown-gate-after-draw-shrews "Aw bless, beating Shrewsbury isn’t for everyone".
  15. https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/15928/sunderland-away?page=6 4 hours ago baggins said: 4 hours ago bradfordmeyerbiggs said: Been in Sunderland since Thursday night. Beer prices are superb. Looking forward to today’s game. Fancy us to bag the points as there are loads of lads up here. The locals have been great, bit of friendly bants, but all good. Reckon they will be surprised by the amount of support we’ll have in the ground today. Impressive.800 tickets sold, apparently. Great away travel support, again. It’s a great experience all round. We are making a proper weekend of it. Buzzing. We are the envy of a lot of clubs when we travel away in numbers like this
  16. "The club has reached agreement with the city council to find suitable land for a new ground in time for the 2022-23 season". August 2022 is just thirty months away. The challenge has been set for the gas.
  17. But defeats can be a good thing: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-coach-focusing-positives-3753804
  18. That sounds like the coverage from a dictatorship. With several clubs based in the capital of North Korea, I wonder what this team's local coverage is like? Do their rivals refer to them as the 56ers? 19. That explains the low attendances then. 40,000 volunteers and just 6,000 so thick, they still pay to get in.
  20. And don't forget to wear your City shirt!
