  1. If players can't get over a manager being sacked they won't make it in football
  2. Funnily if we were looking for a new manager right now Mowbray would be top of my list. Be funny if he just goes down to Swansea.
  3. For me we’re still a better pick than Swansea, their owners love to save money at every turn, they sold a few players and got big money in return and still had to go cheap. 5 loans will mean investment needed to replace them as well. Do people really believe Manning and those who came with him didn’t do their own evaluation of each of our players before they came in? Add the obvious fact they played us so would have done opposition analysis on us. They will have known exactly what squad they were getting when they came in and it’s in a better position then Swansea’s will be (if they are as of now barring huge changes in January).
  4. At that moment in time? Probably not, the change of style to something like Manning’s isn’t an overnight thing to become natural, it takes weeks if not a couple of months for movements/patterns etc to become natural. The reality is we had a situation where Nige was never getting a new contract and the club clearly had highlighted Manning as the next one to approach, however we probably got worried that Manning would take Oxford up and we’d lose our chance so wanted to be proactive in getting who we wanted. Realistically i don’t think we can expect too much this season but im quietly optimistic for next season depending on how well we can operate in the 2 windows.
  5. I agree that the club could do better and I hope they do improve, perhaps one way could be Twitter accounts like @BCFCCEO, @BCFCTechDirector etc, sort of like the POTUS account that gets passed on, an official account they use and Brian can continue to give out information. Which would mean that Brian would hopefully be allowed his personal account to not be messaged by city fans about work in a negative sense to allow him a separation, perhaps that’s too much wishful thinking.
  6. Yeah I don’t necessarily agree with the ‘back when in the prem’ comment, but I read it more as just Brian’s general positive point of view
  7. It would be through an injury crisis but I don’t think Knight-Lebel would drown at championship level if he was chucked in, he also suits Manning’s system.
  8. It was an unnecessary and inaccurate comment in the first place that the guy made though. Is Brian supposed to not provide the actual fact of what we got for Wes where otherwise people could/would have believed what he said because of what his former position was. And Wes is a poor example for me, it’s taken Wes until he’s 28 to reach the championship and people said we held onto Bobby Reid for too long! As for leaving, it’s not a club account, it’s a personal one, there’s no requirement for him to have one. JL/BT got pelters for blocking abuse, now Brian is taking it for choosing to leave the platform, are they supposed to just be an open target for abuse? I appreciate a lot of interactions would be general questioning rather than abuse but if you get more abuse for blocking abuse in the first place what else can you do? A lot is made of mental health, it can’t be good for someone if they get hundreds of notifications, some criticism, some support, some abuse, but focusing on the abusive ones. Perhaps people just want to have a clearer head space. Fans will let the club know what they think one way or another anyway.

    ENJOYMENT

So what you’re saying is it’s your fault for watching
  10. I’d say yes for a game by game to see how they compared but probably not in terms of league as a whole as it would mean they’d have to code every game in the league to get a result of how they rank in the league for it. Either that or they’ve teamed up with a really advanced AI programme which you can customise to recognise things happening. Its the next stage in sports analysis and people are starting to try working it out
  11. You sometimes get inaccuracies in the data the big companies provide if they log something wrong after all they just have someone who’s paid to log a game it’s not a Norwich person logging it for them. When something is wrong they’ll just shrug as well. You can also then collect data for the exact metrics you want by your definitions as well, not taking the best sounding ones that the data provides offer. Obviously relies on your person logging the game correctly but now any error is on you so it’s your responsibility. You can also likely have the data available sooner as well, as soon as a match finishes hand the footage to the analyst/data guy and they can crack on and probably take a few hours vs next day for data provider
  12. Well there's a possibility for best 3rd place out of their group and then to be the ones we play in first knockout round.
  13. Jonathan Pearce going full Eurovision and I love it
  14. Cohesive punditry, talking about how York won't be that old school style non league team and they'll play, then Dublin 'York will sit in...'
  15. Fair enough was just something that I'd read online that they were close to exclusivity with someone not it close to being sold
  16. They haven't entered into an exclusivity period with anyone yet
  17. Avoided a points deduction because they made sure all players got paid on time but other staff only got 50% of their pay with rest being paid by Tuesday supposedly Select Car Leasing stumping up to make sure they get paid.
  18. I’ve wondered what if a referee has discretion to bring the foul forwards 10/20 yards for cynical fouls on counters, players may not want to give one away if it brings it within easy distance for a dangerous set piece
  19. My guess is its really just referring to the club gets so much data from physical testing now and if you want to increase the levels of the squad we need players who hit x in specific tests or in match day physical data and players who hit below that won't improve us so the physical now becomes more important then the technical in a lot of cases. You can almost predict the winner of a football match 80% of the time based off the games physical data as English football (particularly the PL) and swung way towards physical over technical, if you can outrun your opponent in many different areas you standard a better chance of winning. Not to be confused by how many old school coaches will just look at the data and say 'we need everyone to hit 10k to win games'. Its more you need players who are capable of hitting a threshold so they can do it when they need to, obviously if you're sat in a block defending a lead your numbers won't be high. So many people were shocked by the price of Gordon's move to Newcastle and said 'he's not even that good', well the reason he was worth that much to Newcastle (and Everton) is because the level of his physical data is freakish even compared to PL standard. Its where the money is now players who can combine the physical with the technical, if you have one or the other you'll get so far but really now only those with both make it to the very top.
  20. The way you film for broadcast and the way you film for analysis is different, you want to keep different things in picture/level of zoom etc. Its also likely difficult as the output from the video footage from the camera is fed into the laptop for the live analysis. I don't know much about broadcast feeds etc but its probably then difficult to separate it for a stream as well. The analysis team will more than likely just be a single camera set up (albeit an extremely nice camera by analysis standards), there's no IP camera system around the training ground, that idea was chucked out not long before it opened up properly. There wouldn't really be an 'expense' for someone to lead the broadcast stuff as you'd just use the people who do Robins TV as I expect they're salaried anyway.
  21. Amazon have been told their pundits can't criticise referees because the PL is worried they'll lose their referees to foreign leagues because the referees don't like the amount of criticism they get. Sky/BT have been told the same but just carry on because of how large their investment in English football is they know the PL can't really do anything about it, Amazon however who only have a small TV deal are easy to replace.
  22. Laziness of the media department, they don't want to 'waste' someones time needed to film the game. Parking for U21's fixtures is usually either in QEH car park or the cricket/hockey club car park just over the road so should be able to park within a couple of minutes walk. Usually evening games are QEH and day time games are the sports club but its usually said which car park is available.
  23. Not much worse than a kitman whose not the life and soul of the environment
