  1. Double that. 200k for the runner up, a cool half a million for the winner.
  2. And who could forget the goal against the gAss in the FA Cup at Eastville. Happy Birthday Tom.
  3. Can’t afford any can we ? Wage bill maxed out
  4. Losing at home to Sheffield United under SOD. Proper miserable. Today has reminded me of one of my favourite songs though…
  5. But the rhetoric from the board, was we didn’t need to recruit. The squad was good enough, the best for years according to Jon. NP was sacked because “this squad” was under performing. Liam should be getting more from THIS squad. Or have the Lansdowns ****** up again?
  6. “The Bristol City board have told ITV News that one of the key reasons behind the club's decision to sack manager Nigel Pearson was that they want promotion to the Premier League.” Gavin Marshall “We all wanted Nigel to achieve our ambition to be promoted but, with our recent results, feel that now is the time to make a change to give the club the best possible chance of success.” Jon Lansdown. With one of the best squads we’ve had in years according to Jon. Not going great is it?
  7. It’s not the first time. When LJ replaced Cotts, the same thing happened. Almost like the managers they get rid of cease to exist once they’ve left.
  8. The kids a force of nature.
  9. The only women gAssholes come for are their sisters.
  10. 2 less than there should be at the moment…
  11. If you’re coming down the M5 anyway, why not use the Portway Park and Ride? Huge free car park and AG1 buses run every 15 mins to the ground. Not too expensive either. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/ashton-gate/getting-here/
  12. Might be worth pointing out to @Boring Sag the last time we were in the 3rd division, it would have been difficult to beat top of the league, because for the majority of the season, it was us. Also worth asking when they beat any 2 sides in the second tier, let alone the top 2. Hint: If you’re not in your 30’s you’d have missed it.
  13. Excellent response from Manning. Enjoy winning the battles, celebrate when you win the war.
  14. Well I was just going with the hypothetical situation that we’d be crap and Al Quadi could have bought us. OK, Paul Ballantyne might be a better example. Doubt he grew up dreaming of owning Luton.
  15. How do you know we’d be nowhere near where we are now mate? That’s just your opinion. They only cover the losses they create. Imagine if they’d sold to Tony Bloom 10/15/20 years ago…
  16. Isn’t it wonderful that the one team I give a **** about, is the one that’s underperforming.
  17. For the first time (ever..?) we had a manager and a CEO who had been there and done it in the premier league. They were both shown the door quick smart by the owner, for reasons unknown (too ambitious..?) What was it Phil Alexander said on leaving, "The team is in good hands with Nigel Pearson"..? We've now got the chuckle brothers running the club, not much to look forward to IMO.
  18. That's all a bit difficult when you've seen the same mistakes being made over and over. You start the revolution to get rid of the owner and his puppet board, and I'll be right there with you.
  19. That is prime Gordon Banks. Chuffed for Max, gets a lot of unfair stick for his footwork but he’s a decent keeper.
  20. That save in the second half, I turned to my mate and said that’s ‘David Seaman’ esque. That’s why I’ve said on another thread, for me, today’s win is all about the players.. Every single one put in a shift, even Anis…
  21. Such a shame that shot hit the post, might have been a turning point in his career here. Don’t think he’s up to the standard at the moment though.
  22. For me, that’s a win straight from the Nigel Pearson play book. I give the players a massive amount of credit today. Hopefully Liam can build on that collective spirit and get us moving forward. He can’t lose that will to win with tactical overlords though.
  23. Why did ‘Down Down’ spring immediately to mind…?
  24. A wonderful player (some might say a legend), highly thought of as the leader of the academy, producing a steady stream of good young players coming through into the first team. All going well, and you had the respect of the fans. Then you and the Chairman, it would seem, have cooked up an idea to rid the club of all the experience, Alexander, Pearson & Fleming, to employ an "on the grass manager" with no experience of the level. You've lost all your credibility with a large number of fans, and gone from "Tins" to "Sid" and "The Snake". You've tarnished your legacy, and from what I gather, have now closed your twitter account. Hardly owning the decision is it? For your, and all our sakes, I hope Manning can make a success of the job, or you will forever be remembered for this last act of skulduggery. Et Tu Brian.
