  1. If you’re coming down the M5 anyway, why not use the Portway Park and Ride? Huge free car park and AG1 buses run every 15 mins to the ground. Not too expensive either. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/ashton-gate/getting-here/
  2. Might be worth pointing out to @Boring Sag the last time we were in the 3rd division, it would have been difficult to beat top of the league, because for the majority of the season, it was us. Also worth asking when they beat any 2 sides in the second tier, let alone the top 2. Hint: If you’re not in your 30’s you’d have missed it.
  3. Excellent response from Manning. Enjoy winning the battles, celebrate when you win the war.
  4. Well I was just going with the hypothetical situation that we’d be crap and Al Quadi could have bought us. OK, Paul Ballantyne might be a better example. Doubt he grew up dreaming of owning Luton.
  5. How do you know we’d be nowhere near where we are now mate? That’s just your opinion. They only cover the losses they create. Imagine if they’d sold to Tony Bloom 10/15/20 years ago…
  6. Isn’t it wonderful that the one team I give a **** about, is the one that’s underperforming.
  7. For the first time (ever..?) we had a manager and a CEO who had been there and done it in the premier league. They were both shown the door quick smart by the owner, for reasons unknown (too ambitious..?) What was it Phil Alexander said on leaving, "The team is in good hands with Nigel Pearson"..? We've now got the chuckle brothers running the club, not much to look forward to IMO.
  8. That's all a bit difficult when you've seen the same mistakes being made over and over. You start the revolution to get rid of the owner and his puppet board, and I'll be right there with you.
  9. That is prime Gordon Banks. Chuffed for Max, gets a lot of unfair stick for his footwork but he’s a decent keeper.
  10. That save in the second half, I turned to my mate and said that’s ‘David Seaman’ esque. That’s why I’ve said on another thread, for me, today’s win is all about the players.. Every single one put in a shift, even Anis…
  11. Such a shame that shot hit the post, might have been a turning point in his career here. Don’t think he’s up to the standard at the moment though.
  12. For me, that’s a win straight from the Nigel Pearson play book. I give the players a massive amount of credit today. Hopefully Liam can build on that collective spirit and get us moving forward. He can’t lose that will to win with tactical overlords though.
  13. Why did ‘Down Down’ spring immediately to mind…?
  14. A wonderful player (some might say a legend), highly thought of as the leader of the academy, producing a steady stream of good young players coming through into the first team. All going well, and you had the respect of the fans. Then you and the Chairman, it would seem, have cooked up an idea to rid the club of all the experience, Alexander, Pearson & Fleming, to employ an "on the grass manager" with no experience of the level. You've lost all your credibility with a large number of fans, and gone from "Tins" to "Sid" and "The Snake". You've tarnished your legacy, and from what I gather, have now closed your twitter account. Hardly owning the decision is it? For your, and all our sakes, I hope Manning can make a success of the job, or you will forever be remembered for this last act of skulduggery. Et Tu Brian.
  15. Master stroke by JL. Nobody moaning about the kit now, are they…??!!
  16. Manning has been sold by the board as an improvement on Nige though, so he needs to improve on Nige's record. It's that simple. I'll reserve judgement on whether we are improving for a few weeks though, 5 games is too early.
  17. You can always tell when there is a collective downer on OTIB. 1. Our young players are all shit and need a league 1 loan. 2. Our older players are all over the hill. 3. Mark Ashton wasn’t so bad after all. As has been pointed out, the Lansdowns are the problem, the common denominator. Forget any thoughts about promotion while they are here, especially now Jon is seeking the council of a failed previous manager. The blood pressure will be a lot lower as a result.
  18. You can add Liam Walsh as well. This is like “shit signings” top trumps.
  19. Why they can’t stock stuff like this in a range of colours, I’ve no idea. Could do them with the different badges from down the years. Reckon they’d do well https://oldschoolfootball.co.uk/products/bristol-city-1970s-football-polo-sizes-s-xxxl-embroidered-logo?variant=42543598174452&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAiA98WrBhAYEiwA2WvhOnXf8mJ0z_PhgW9xY-IVL8YbdSLoc0aJ8h2tkgMiwt0nH9iXzdlKRBoCbMQQAvD_BwE
  20. Even Beryls port-a-kabin was better than what we have now. More, choice and variety. I used to buy a polo ever summer for my holiday, but not bought anything for years, due to lack of choice and stock. What they do sell is tat. They obviously don't want our money so, fine, they don't get any from me other than my season ticket.
  21. You’re making yourself look a *** again. Yes. I Show up every week, because I’m a Bristol City fan. No, I won’t stay home, because I was here before the Lansdowns or Tinnion. And as far as patience goes, I’ve shown it for 40 odd years, it’s a shame the owners couldn’t show it for Nigel Pearson. Enjoy your new messiah, I fear you won’t have long.
