  1. It would appear not....how strange? You know full well that plenty of them are aware of the article because at the very least they would’ve read about it on here. Hi Slags ?? I wonder why they haven’t mentioned it? ?
  2. Whoever shouted you down is talking shit. Burnley’s population is only 70,000 yet they’ve regularly had average attendances between 13k and 20k depending on the division they’re in. The main difference between us and the Gas is that we don’t pretend our support is the envy of “tinpot teams” (as the Sags call them) like Accrington and Fleetwood.
  3. This is brilliant and totally backs up a point I regularly try to make to Sagheads that they seem unable to understand. They think their support is the envy of the land and something special but when you take into consideration the catchment area they have it’s pathetic. Ours isn’t much better (3.8% to their 1.8%) but at least we don’t go around pretending otherwise. Best thing about that table is that all the clubs those arrogant tossers sneer at for having ‘shit’ support are above them. ?
  4. This. You can hear a pin drop around the Mem on matchdays....that is of course until we concede a goal and it gets flashed up on their scoreboard.
  5. Yeah, and don’t those Gas bastards make sure they chuck that in our face on a regular basis. Edit, just seen Loon Plague’s post
  6. “Yeah, look...listen, the interviewer needs to ask the questions quicker...but that’s my responsibility, I take full responsibility for that obviously it’s the interviewers fault but I take responsibility, the buck stops with me. I just think my fans deserve better, they turn up in massive numbers week in week out, they’re the best, they really are. At the end of the day I’m gonna dust myself down, dust my team down, dust my fans down....” etc.
  7. Given the so called ‘improvements’ made to the Mem over the last couple of years combined with the UWE and training ground fiasco and selling their best strikers every transfer window you’d think the fans would be savvy enough to realise that he’s not being financially backed without him having to spell it out publicly. He obviously doesn’t have much faith in his fans. On the subject of Cotts, if you get the chance, watch his reaction at the end of the JPT Final and then compare it to Dopey's pissed up performance after their Play Off Victory, screaming and wetting himself whilst standing on a pub table. Cotts has got more dignity in his little finger than DC has in his whole body.
  8. Yes, this was supposed to be the weekend where they were going to easily sweep aside ‘little’ Stockport before dreaming of the possibility of shouting abuse at Matty Taylor for 90 minutes in the 3rd round. ‘Little’ Barnet had other ideas though.
  9. Absolutely.... but in private. Hugely unprofessional to do it in post match press conferences every time you get beaten. It also makes his claims of taking “full responsibility” look very hollow...he’s passing the buck. If I owned a football club I’d be a bit wary of taking on any manager who’s so willing to throw his employers under the bus in public, whether he’s got a point or not. He could’ve had the Leeds job but he fell for the bullshit he was told to keep him at the Gas, now he’s got to work with the resources available to him. To me he looks and acts like a sulky child.
  10. If you don't want to watch 5 minutes of Dopey Darrell gurning and contradicting himself here's the highlights: "MY fans..." "not ruthlessunuss (???)" "Fans deserve more" Excuses about selling strikers Something about horses. Confirmed he'll 'dust himself down' Takes responsibility, clearly doesn't mean it. Dopey and LJ now in a race to see who can rack up 10 straight defeats on the bounce first. The Dopemeister takes the lead tonight...LJ's thinking "hold my pint".
  11. Well that’s a bit embarrassing isn’t it? The superfans who claim to be more loyal than anyone else, especially us apparently. Tell everyone that their support is envied across the land, outgrown the Mem, “if they play on the streets we’ll watch from the pavement” etc. Fickle Sags. We we’re still getting 10k+ crowds when we were bottom of L1 under SO’D.
  12. Depends on Gills recent form? If they’re on a good run then those Championship ready sprinklers would’ve been pissing all over the pitch non stop for the last few days.
  13. That’s a matter of opinion. Personally I’m looking forward the the 19th Anniversary next year of our defeat to Stoke in the Auto Windscreens Final at Wembley. I understand Damian Spencer, Paul Holland and Peter Beadle are expected to attend a church hall somewhere in South Bristol to talk about that incredible day. * Date to be confirmed * Will not clash with Cub/Scouts meetings * Full kit must be worn * Fiver on the door or free if you climb through the bog window. * BYO White Lightning. * Meat Raffle, £1...win some meat!
  14. I still can’t believe how desperately sad it was that he was invited to be a guest speaker at their Christmas do the other year. Yeah I know we sent Colin Daniel a bottle of Champagne, big deal...His goal rid the League of that haemorrhoid of a Football Club. Windass would never say it publicly and I expect at the time he only cared about the money he was getting for being touched by Sags for an evening but somewhere in his mind he must have thought “sad bastards, when was the last time you were in a Championship Play Off Final?”
  15. Sunday lunchtime if I remember correctly and yes we were already relegated, in fact it was the last game of a ******* shit season. Correction: it was a Saturday.
  16. Our most successful season for decades occurred whilst they were in Non League. Before Rovers had even joined the Football League we had finished runners up in the top flight and been FA Cup Finalists...since then? Whilst Rovers were fighting for a L1 play off position a couple of years back we were flirting with Relegation in the Championship in a season that included our worst ever run of defeats. The vast majority of League Bristol Derbies have taken place in the 3rd division. Wheres the evidence that Bristol Rovers exceeding their potential or at least competing in the same division as us has been beneficial for Bristol City Football Club?
  17. Someone suggested on Slagchat that they should have a silent protest at their next home game. I lived near the Mem for years so I know that if they stood there in silence the owners and players wouldn’t notice any difference.
  18. No, it isn’t a Bristol thing. Every club across the country laugh at their rivals when they make fools of themselves....it’s just Rovers give us more to laugh at. That’s why this thread is so long, if they weren’t so arrogant, thinking their support is superior to everyone else we wouldn’t laugh at them anywhere near as much when they get put in their place whilst screaming abuse at their own players, management and owners (something they pretend only happens at City).
  19. Not sure. They definitely made no attempt to get the game played. Previous matches that season they had called people in to help make the pitch playable. Either way, since then I’ve seen posts and heard Gasheads boasting about how they got one over on City and Stockport by calling that game off as if they’d pulled some sort of tactical master stroke worthy of being proud of. The reality is they just didn’t want to face a Stockport team who were on an amazing run of wins at the time. They also knew it meant they’d get a weekend off before the JPT area final whilst we went up to Blackpool.
  20. I don’t know about anyone else but the main reason I find last nights result so funny is because of belters like these... Proud to be cheats.... ? Dreaming of the possibility of playing their cup final against City in the 3rd round.... ? This one below sums up their arrogant fans perfectly. What was their attendance last night? 2700? Maybe more Barnet fans would’ve turned up at the Hive if the opposition were a proper big club not some jumped up clowns with delusions of grandeur?....
  21. Dopey has obviously decided that tonight was bad enough to churn out the old "I take full responsibility" routine for the post match interview. That'll keep the belters happy for a few weeks.
  22. Amongst all the vitriol on Slagchat directed at their players, manager and owner (must be ‘teds’ who’ve signed up on there because Sagheads wouldn’t do that, Surely?) there’s rumours that another one of their players has told the self proclaimed ‘greatest fans on the planet’ to go **** themselves. May not be true but it would be hilarious if it was..
  23. They must hate it when they post some ******* drivel about how much better they think they are compared to us ....then a couple of weeks later their Saghead mates let them down. Boos at FT tonight apparently...
  24. ***** sake, I’m in tears here ? They were talking about who they were going to get in round 3 when the draw was made last week ?
