I can't get my head around what's going on at Irish. I thought they were taken over in 2013 by folks who said they wanted to invest and try to get an Irish core back into the club. Looking at their squad it doesn't seem that they've spent a bucketload - though they do have Ben Franks - and they've only four Irish players.

A story that sums up many football clubs

I got that wrong anyway. I forgot Tom played for Sale and Luke for Bristol. I don't think there's any basis for deducting points but there could be some sackings on the way.

With so little detail regarding the scale of this, it is hard to speculate.

I think it's a winnable game- as is Gloucester arguably, Newcastle also and Worcester away. Maybe Bath at home as is local derby factor but failing that the odd losing bonus point as happened Saturday will keep us on track, think we may even finish 10th.

Although the Wuss game is massive, this is what will keep us up imo.

Bristol Rugby’s Aviva Premiership derby clash against Bath at Ashton Gate has been moved to Sunday, 26 February (1pm KO) and will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

The fixture was originally scheduled to be played on Friday, 24 February, but has now been chosen for live broadcast.

Bristol’s trip to Worcester in March will also be shown live and has been moved from Saturday 4 to Sunday, 5 March (3pm KO).

City play Newcastle on the 25th don't we? Stop messing with my travel plans sky and BT!

Sorry, I don't get what you mean?

He was told to keep away from the club after the defeat to Sale - why wasn't he sacked in that week up to the Worcester game?

Contract negotiations regarding the terms of dismissal perhaps, tbh I'm not sure.

To get "suspended" I would view that has having done something wrong?

Would someone be suspended just because the team were crap?

All very odd, and sadly makes Bristol RFC look pretty poor at the moment with their handling of the scenario

The problem is the Worcester game happened before he was sacked. They had to announce something or rumours would have circulated as he obviously was not there.

As I've received a letter from the club inviting me to obtain a free ticket for the Sale game. Thought I'd go for it but online doesn't give you the option to get it for free. Anyone had success with this?

OK I've sussed it, there is an option when changing ticket type to adult full or child full etc of bcfc comp this is the correct option to chose.

I think it would be polite to thank @NYTRAM for his helping you resolve your issue.

Bristol have had a fairly awful start to the season in the Premiership with three losses including a 70 point drubbing on Sunday.  It seems to me that Andy Robinson has followed Cotterill's transfer policy and not strengthened properly on winning promotion.  They lost one very good player (Genge)  from last year's squad and have introduced half a dozen journeymen and couple of decent Championship players. Hence the team is already looking uncompetitive.

I am surprised that Steve L wasn't asked to fund a few big name internationals over the summer.

As only an occasional Bris fan I don't know if there is transfer window in rugby but it would be a real shame if they do a London Welsh and go down with a whimper (not to mention trying to sell seats for a team that is leaking tries).

In a nutshell, because the play offs in the championship go on so long the best players have already gone to the guaranteed Premiership rugby clubs rather than joining Bristol and hoping they go up. By the time Bristol confirmed promotion the best players had already moved leaving mostly championship players and premiership cast offs to bolster Bristol's ranks.

  9. Back on the Swindon tickets, only giving Rovers the expensive tickets and not opening the cheaper bank behind the goal. This is why Swindon are the club I dislike the most. I want to beat Rovers more than anyone else but when it comes to horrible little clubs in horrible little Towns, Swindon take the biscuit.

I am disappointed there were as many as that, I was hoping for considerably less than 1000,, I actually hope we lose every game in this competition.

Fairplay. But you will always have fans who blindly follow any team and they'll usually come out with some crap like 'It doesn't matter who we play, they are my team and I'll support them'. They are well meaning I suppose but stupid. If every fan refused to attend a game that was priced over £30 it would never happen. But still 1000 ish city fans still went to Wednesday, fueling the problem.

size of support doesn't mean you are a bigger club, its a factor yes but it isn't the only factor, Newcastle get more through the gate then Liverpool but that doesn't make them bigger

For me it is all about Gates. Being a successful club and a big club are different in my opinion. But then you must look at each team if there was no Gate restriction. If Anfield and St James' each had an infinite capacity who would get the higher gates? If you add success and history into the equation you are no longer talking about size. Success can lead to size but for me they are different. Man U are still the biggest club in the UK followed by the Arsenal, despite just some FA cups between them of late.

    Oh ah, not denying that.

We've got to have the worst record going in the play offs. I reckon Stephen Hawking would have more chance of winning gold in the 100m Butterfly at the Rio Olympics than us getting through them.

I think Sheff Utd have worse
