  1. Er, this is awkward. I think I'm wrong. Many apologies @ChippenhamRed, I've just read up a bit (ahem, should've done it before), and found this https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN03937/SN03937.pdf I am obviously years out of date, and thought rail seating was the only proscribed method. I even thought thats what we had in s82 @Wedontplayinblue. I'll put myself on the naughty step for a short period!
  2. There is a proscribed design for safe standing: these areas will be similar in appearance to the s82 area in the South Stand. The pic that was posted, shown be the article I linked to, was an area with a safety rail. That was not a safe standing area. Whether you have seats for a safe standing area, or whether they tacitly allow standing in the area shown is another matter Anyway, have a great day out. If we manage to pull it off, it will probably rank as a bigger technical achievement than the Liverpool win.
  3. The difference is that it can't convert to a safe standing area . What I think it's there for is to prevent you falling out your seat onto the row below, and installed because of the high rake. I had issues with the steepness of the rake high in the millennium stadium and the upper lansdown. That rail would probably make me feel safer if nothing else.
  4. Not sure I've mentioned this before, but my cousin is a volunteer driver for City, and drove Nige around a lot. What he's said to family absolutely underlines what you two have said.
  5. I don't think that's a safe standing area. It looks like it's a safety rail. See here for info https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/04-december/supporter-update-safety-rail-installation
  6. It's a difficult pitch for internal media. Thete's no way they're going to be controversial. But club interviews are so inane and ineffectual. Most of the time the local media ones are a bit soft as well. The club aren't nearly held to account as much as they should be. Get GT back .
  7. My first game. It's got a lot to answer for. This version is better quality that the one that's been on youtube for donkeys years. But try as I might, I still can't identify myself in the boys enclosure
  8. I think he'll be seeing action in the u21s first at least to get up to speed. We're playing bournmouth at the hpc next Tuesday.
  9. I don't see it as much more deluded than when our lot say it. But I agree it's much more obvious that it's a deluded comment if you've got no skin in Bristol 'pro' football.
  10. It's a blow to be sure. I don't know that we'll have the ball enough to learn much v West Ham, but it might give Liam a push into trying something different (than how we set us v Millwall). Maybe two up top? Withdraw Knight a bit? I dunno, but sometimes there is opportunity in adversity: Bobby Reid as a striker? You know, that sort of thing.
  11. I wonder if they knew he was coming for a month or so, he got put on a fitness program to help him get his fitness levels up. Anyway, glad it's over the line. Next please.
  12. The answer to the question is 'as many times as he joins'. When I left Twitter, I deleted my account. If BT hasn't done this, then he hasn't actually left.
  13. I agree, but wouldn't that be down to West Ham? Presumably physical away tickets cause less issues for clubs, and I've always assumed that's what happens. But since the last time I went away was in the last century, perhaps that's not the norm?
  14. Er, I don't see that he is keeping better players out of our squad. And that is the main problem isn't it?
  15. We certainly did with *that* new years day game at Ashton Gate. Same score as yesterday, but still more peed off about it than I could ever be about yesterday!
  16. I don't think *every* game against them though. Not "One nil down, two-one up, we knocked Rovers out the cup". There may have been others.
  17. Nice to see their manager drop an f-bomb on radio bristol.
  18. On the positive side, subs bench strong ... We need fresher legs I suppose it's just rotation.
  19. Because of this I don't even bother to check any more. Also, worse case, take a snapshot of the QR code that appears at the bottom of the ticket (Android at least), email somewhere safe/save on a spare/friends phone, and use this for access in a pinch.
  20. My memory was that during lockdown at Wycombe away near the end of the season (when they got relegated) their goalie came up and scored from a corner for a 2-1 win for them. Clearly, I need to change my medication.
  21. There's always a percentage that don't go to any game, but in general it's a PITA to get a digital transfer from a season ticket holder you don't know, and you probably aren't going to get hold of anyone's season card. But what I came on to say was that historically (you know, in the distant past when it was standing/90% POTD), boxing day/new years day fixtures were the best attended of the year, helped no doubt because they were usually local Derbies.
  22. Have they installed flushable toilets?
  23. I was only thinking earlier of the goal the Wycombe goalie scored against us a few seasons back. Good Times. I'm sure a good few can remember Ray Cashley scoring from a wind assisted punt upfield. I've seen us score direct from a corner, but never that. If I remember correctly, didn't Jan Moller have a massive kick on him? I'm sure I remember willing him to score as we hurtled down the leagues.
  24. I'd have thought any decent fan would be alienated by that individual (Barton).
