  1. When you're that awful in the first half (First 5-10 mins aside), surely you're happy not to get battered in the second half. However badly you think LM set up the team, there were some poor performers today. That's on them.
  2. I'll take a 0-0 at Sunderland if it means The Gas lose 0-2 at home.
  3. Yep. Well done Maxi. I also thought Nakhi was decent, Vyner was okay. There were several very poor performances though.
  4. It's that stage of the season where you make up your own competitions. 1. The Smiler - We make 5 more wins to 'storm' up to 10 place and wipe the smile from Liam Rosenior's face. Unfortunately, that smile is transferred to Jon and Brian's faces. 2. The F The Welsh - We finish above Cardiff and Swansea; 3. The Winner Winner Chicken (or Vegan) Dinner - The one where our wins exceed our losses; 4. The Symmetry - The one where our total wins and losses are the same; 5. The F Up/The F The Welsh (Reprise) - We finish below both Cardiff and Swansea; I'll get me coat.
  5. @Jerseybean Gary Owers played 320 games for Sunlun. He's a right canny lad. I canna believe you missed him.
  6. Agreed. At times like that you probably need a scrupulous experienced agent looking out for you. I guess that personal ambition could get in the way of accepting sound professional advice anyway.
  7. Once he's under contract he's going nowhere. And Its clear from his early statements that he'd been given the whole nine yards on 'underperforming', which obs we weren’t. The only thing that could have conceivably saved him was if he confided in someone he knew who could put him right about the misinformation he was fed before he took the job..
  8. I don't think any of the 'European Super League' teams you mention give a monkey's about their fans.
  9. I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but I watched the entire match v Everton. Scott didn't feature from the bench, but Antoine started, and looked as good as he ever did for us, but in the league above.
  10. I've set a diary note for the 22nd. I'll never understand why LM persisted with playing Knight out of position. It's no surprise that part of the very recent improvement is due to playing him in a more natural role. Unlike a few, I'm looking for reasons to renew. If LM continues to make positive decisions with the team set up and in game management then I'll renew, whilst appreciating why others won't be.
  11. Yep. It's a pity it went that way. We were missing a CB from the starting line up I think, so to lose three starters in addition, and not be able to make any further changes in the second half has really done us. If we'd have taken the chance early in the second half before we got too knackered we might have hung in. Well done City anyway. I'm hoping to see a couple of these lads in the first team sometime. I don't see why Philips isn't worth a place on the bench in the run in.
  12. Crikey, we're dropping like flies.
  13. I'd hope they'd not allow it to happen, but he's on the list so they might as I dont think they’ve thought the repercussions through.
  14. Yep. At least we've had the decency to stop playing him, unlike some previous January loans.
  15. We don't play to his strengths, so it's become a bit difficult for me to appreciate how good he is recently. Some of the issues might be partly of his own making, but it's upsetting that it's not working out for him here. I've got to the stage where I almost want him to leave for his own benefit.
  16. Me too. I've also been having some issues with the man utd away kit when watching sky. The Brentford game was particularly bad. Maybe the width of their stripes don't agree with me.
  17. That's not unpopular here. I'd have either in the city side though. Brian, are you listening?
  18. Yeah. xG itself is just a minor part of the analysis of football. Just a headline for us plebs. Data analysis of football is a multi billion dollar industry (probably :), and if you're leading edge, it can help you (for instance) identify and recruit fantastic players for cheap that aren't on others radar. When everyone else is using the same data sets it's more difficult to stand out, but it's one of the reasons Brighton have been so successful in their recruitment (I think they rely on Tony Bloom's company for their data, rather than off the shelf solutions). I expect fevs has more of an insight. If you know what you're doing it's a great tool, but if you're a great tool it won't help as much.
  19. I think if you factor in expectation and entitlement, the more successful teams have less tolerant fans. I do hanker for the day when we suffer a home draw against Liverpool and our fans complain about it on 606, or it's equivalent in the year 4060.
  20. It took me a while. Probably because I've got used to Jon's efforts.
  21. Ref would've booked TC for losing his head.
  22. XG = 0.01 seriously What an Easter gift.
