  1. Happy New Year everyone. Let's get it started with a win.
  2. I know, right. Sky announced it during the Liverpool game as breaking news or some such tosh.
  3. Only saw him in the flesh once. It was at Wembley in the 90s I think. Maybe it was at an FA Cup final or possibly Eng v Brazil (the one where Le Saux scored a corker and then Brazil smashed us.) I was made up to see the best footballer of all time in real life. RIP.
  4. A couple of the tents blew away yesterday, so probably was to be fair
  5. Pleased with that Second half display. Lot more composed. Better movement. Pity about the finishing, but AW at least will improve the more he plays upfront. Well doen Exeter 4-3 up in added ...
  6. Alex Scott has been my pick of the City team. Just need to show a bit more quality and we can take this.
  7. Czech Republic will be okay, but not France. The exclusion list is here in case anyone desperately needs it.
  8. I'm Nige in. But I'd like to see 2 or 3 changes in the starting line up/positions tonight, including AW moved to an attacking role and RA back in defence. Maybe Semenyo starts. Anyway I got my £3 on a City win
  9. Possible heads up: overseas RobinsTV coverage for tonights game might be geo-restricted. It was not available from France when I l;ogged on. I got that 'certain countries' message, but was working okay from Spain. Edit: I guess this is signposted on the OS
  10. Sounds interesting Major. Can you post a link please? Merci.
  11. So clearly a decent stream will be available - for anyone deciding on whether to attend in person or not this might make their mind up.
  12. From what I read earlier I think it was specifically given to him as directed by the player.
  13. Hmm. Dasliva is above average at defending. He can play in a back four, but will put you a player down when defending set pieces. Going forward he is generally poor, always wanting to check back with the ball rather than run with it. His crossing ability is weak (par for this team), and badly placed floaters are the norm. Why he's been playing as a left wing back, God only knows. Williams has had a few good games, and he tries to support the attack which is always a plus, but overall I've been underwhelmed by him - maybe that is coloured by the hype surrounding his signing. I don't think either would be consider more than squad players at a top 10 Championship club. Both would be decent signings at L1.
  14. Hopefully he's never been on anyone's books as a youth team goalkeeper. Anyway, just to add my congratulations to City on making a very astute appointment. Sounds like someone who can oversee ownership changes. Hmm.
  15. It might be worth staying off on Friday night, even though we're playing a side with top 6 home form and weho seem to batter us most seasons.
  16. It's without doubt the most flat boxing day atmosphere I think I've ever known. And I was there at the bottom of the 4th.
  17. I don't think it makes too much difference over what is already a thoroughly inequitable affair. Football clubs at all levels like to look after themselves, and its not really surprising to see that the Premier League like to look after their own, even when that means 4-5 clubs rotate around the top two divisions a bit. You can almost guarantee that if ever parachute payments stop, the PL withdraw from the promotion/relegation agreement with the Football League. Nothing in football seems to be done for the ultimate benefit of the game. Certainly not at the money end of things anyway. So f'ing pathetic.
  18. Can't think who you're on about but at least you know what you're getting with him. That reminds me, @headhunter, is there a Forever Bristol City tomorrow evening, or will it be on Tuesday?
  19. It's the reason why bookies can afford to chuck loads of money at football.
  20. But goes into hiding in cold weather.
  21. Love it. Hope you can reset the counter from your phone
  22. It's a nice idea, but they were stopped for economic reasons, and with the price of paper continuing to rise, I don't see the status quo changing. I used to buy them religiously back in the 80s, and early 90s. And they're always a great souviner for big games (I'm sure I've got Man U and Man C programmes around somewhere), so I'd like to think that we could at least reinstate them for big occassions. We might not get any for a while though ...
  23. The problem with HNM was the club overpaying for him in the first place. Take that burden away and he's still a good prospect. I'm sad that he wants to leave, but can't really blame him.
