  1. [I don't play, my guess, based on a limited mind] Don't players have lots of stud/blade options, and their aim is to be able to move/turn quickly, but (obs) not fall over. The shorter studs aid movement but increase the liklehood of losing footing. I've seen Mark Sykes fall over at least four times every game (I made that up, but he is the one I notice falling over), so I've assumed it's the player has tried going with shorter studs and should consider a slightly longer stud if he feels he has a problem staying upright. So even if it is the pitch, there are things the player can do to mitigate the problem ..
  2. Yeah, he must have a shed load of shoehorns in his attic. One of the pods did a great interview with him a while back. I think it was probably one of stans 'a cider with ..'
  3. My first City shirt. Taken in the photo booth in Boots, East Street. It's been all downhill since
  4. The young 'un in the foreground seems to be developing a decent horse-punching fist.
  5. City have one as well. When we won it the Football League got replicas made for all their member clubs.
  6. Don't tell anyone, but I secretly like Milwall (whenever we aren't playing them of course).
  7. Right, probably better in here that the away fans best pub thread Just in case anyone wants a ticket, there are several available at the time of writing; 46 in W3 & 5 in W13 (£30+£1), and 2 single seat tickets in S18 (£10+£1). Don't know why the S18 tickets are that cheap. (Adult prices quoted.) Anyway, link https://tickets.bristol-sport.co.uk/en-GB/events/arnold clark cup/2023-2-22_16.45/ashton gate stadium?hallmap
  8. Yep, I'd just say we were becoming streetwise.
  9. I think I saw one in the 80's or early 90's. Maybe it involved Steve Galliers.
  10. I'm feeling really sorry for Bell. Running around up front on his own. We don't have the type of forwards to play one up. I'd like the display more if we stopped giving them the ball back unnecessarily.
  11. I don't see the problem. I wear my half and half scarf out when its cold. Half the bars are red, half are white. I'm here all week.
  12. I haven't kept up with this thread over the last couple of days, but for the record I thought Dave and Paul Binning were decent on Sound of the City on Monday. I always look forward to the FBC podcast, whether I agree or disagree with people's points of view. And I look forward to the 3peeps and Osib pods.
  13. Near perfect back-flip. A 9.7 from me.
  14. This *is* a thing normally as I've found. A single person has to book a seat where there are 3 free.
  15. They'll be boring us one way or another.
  16. I'll take Everton please. I've never seen them play, having missed the two fa cup ties (I think) we've played them in the last 25 years, and only seeing a handful of real first division games.
  17. Not everyone is a parent but I think everyone is someones kid. Sounds to me like you'd need to be a clone or an andriod to gain entrance on that criteria.
  18. I can't watch it. Remember in the 90's or early 00's when ITV had the rights and Gabriel Clarke used to stand on the pitch and do a recorded piece to camera pre feature match, sometimes as the teams ran out? Thinking about it now, it was so long ago, I wonder if it actually happened?
  19. So we can also view this record a bit like being the oldest person currently living then ... there have been teams with longer runs, but we're currently the longest ongoing. That's some comfort at least . No pens until we get the guinness book record then, I mean, unless there's a point in it of course. Then the record can do one.
  20. If Barton then gets sent down for it. Hell yes!
  21. I wonder what will happen when he runs down the touchline to celebrate with the fans ...
  22. The only reason I'm watching is to see how AS does.
