  1. He kept us in the game midweek. He's in the same average ballpark as Bentley at half the cost. That's really why he's our new number one.
  2. I'm a bit of a glutton for punishment. I've got the women's game on the go as well. Getting battered there, but still 0-0.
  3. I think I've vaguely heard of about three or four of their players. Strike that: I was getting confused with a couple of Hollywood actors there. Call it two, and that's only because King Joey has thrown them under the bus recently.
  4. There are a few phrases I've heard used to describe him and 'Gracious in defeat' isn't one of them. Get the popcorn out.
  5. Wow, only four. Might seem a lot by the time we get there mind! Makes me more surprised that they could make more of a stab at getting Antonie - I guess they have a lack of immediate funds. Pity, as all he's doing at Bournemouth is warming his backside.

    CL Draw

I assumed we had a bye to the final. That being the case, I'm not really sure exactly how a three team game is going to work.
  7. Great montage, but WTF are you using a readable font
  8. Picked up an illness. A thread on Mark Sykes may be started in it's place, but not one on Kane Wilson.
  9. It would have put us on sound footing I think. But Ashton Gate is our spiritual home, even if it unrecognisable from the 1960s, and, apart from the Dolman, the 1980s. Pity about the Atyeo. The only other real issue I found is the choke point on the corner of the South Stand and Dolman. (It wasn't the best place to put a bar.) COYR
  10. Can we just all agree on a 'well done Max', and get the mods to lock the thread. Onwards!
  11. Did you just hear Gary Owers in response to Ian? 'Oh God'
  12. Very good. I think I managed a CSE Grade 2. 'Es ist schon' is about as much as I can manage on my own. My original was something like 'My uncle is German, and he says Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on him.' So translating to 'eye' makes sense.
  13. Mein Onkel ist Deutscher und sagt, Borussia Dortmund behalte ihn im Auge. I just made that up, obvs, but I bet they are . (PS blame google for the poor German. I'd hate to think what it nows says translated back
  14. As long as you would if you could you're as much a supporter as the rest of us. That covers everyone I hope, from the distance impaired, to the family committed, to the financially bereft, to the Saturday/nightime worker, etc. You know who you are, and it's one of us. It's the can't be arsed people who live around the corner from the ground who would rather steal an internet stream and bitch and moan about the size of the crowd at halftime in the matchday forum, whilst burning a wad of tenner to keep warm, that grind my gears. Hopefully that's a small proportion.
  15. At least you can be sure it won't be worse. Er ...
  16. They are, or at least were last time I looked (possibly last season) - it was in their terms & conditions that you can lend your season card to someone who would be in the same or lower price category. My brother had Covid on the weekend so I took the old dear down on his ticket for her second game of the season. So this is an erosion of benefits as for as I can see. And quite honestly I think its a sharp practice.
  17. Let's face it, if you or I were a robin that looked like that, we'd be straight down the doctors.
  18. I think the first game that was up for was the mauling we got at home to Wolves. Live on Sky and 3 little pigs v the wolf at half time https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-20-years-ago-wolves-mascot-got-into-a-crap-with-three-little-pigs-20181107 And the reason I remember it was because that was when you could legit phone up radio Bristol after the game and get on the phone in. I remember that the presenter (not Geoff) asked me about the scoreboard at the end of my call and I remember saying it was too small - he's only got himself to blame, he should've cut me off during my earlier rant.
  19. I'm hoping they haven't caught him to late in his career for him to be able to change that habit. Your comment got me thinking about Jacki - I think he used to go looking for defenders to beat and then see how many times he could do it before he got bored.
  20. I could watch that back all night. Sitting in the Dolman, I only appreciated the brilliance of that goal when they played it back on the big screen. Bloodly amazing. I was, however, celebrating the goal before the ball had done little more than left Andi's foot. Sometimes you just know.
  21. These are the same people booing our youngsters v Lincoln. Rather pathetic, but what can you do? Ban them bbc style
  22. I'd take dropping a place for a Cardiff loss any day of the week.
