The ‘bedwetters’ are out again. Not sure anyone can defend that 45 minutes.

Awful first half. Needs changes at half time.

Poor defending on that corner but superb header from Knight

Nothing in this game to give me hope for next season so far. Long way to go

Which of our players would any of the top 6 swap their equivalents for?
One of them would probably take Pring,
MAYBE Conway, Dickie, Knight or Sykes
A top ten finish with this squad is probably over-achieving, maybe even top half
I’ve never really understood the questioning of whether x, y or z player gets into a top team.
They are all good players but a good team is greater than the sum of its parts. Liam has to get us a playing style that suits what we have. Freshen up the squad yes, but we don’t really need to start again.

I think the only positions I'd take Manning's players would be RB & CM otherwise I'd take the options Pearson inherited. I'd say now our squad looks better rounded but I think there was better quality in the squad Pearson inherited.
Nigel gave opportunities to Scott and Conway. They weren’t inherited readymade.
Some players you missed. Holden’s last staring 11 included Mariappa, Moore and Lansbury.

Well this sums up the last 40-odd seasons, but let's at least afford Manning the time Nige had to shape his team and culture.
I think the point made is that JL and Tinnion suggested that the new head coach wouldn’t need time to get us competing.
Nigel had a much bigger job to do and needed that time. The issue is ultimately with the ones running the club. It’s too late to do anything this season so we have to allow Liam to get on with it.

8 years since Wael took over.
This is what he said at the time: 'When we purchased the club we knew about the stadium issue but we know a new stadium is a requirement. This club needs a new stadium.'
8 years on and they've built a stand with pillars and a few tents, slow progress I guess!
These things take time

So we’ve gone from 1 in 8 years to about 5 since..pretty standard and average I guess.
Would love a proper set piece expert though. Not sure how many he scored but loved watching a Micky Bell free kick.

That defeat was nothing to do with Mr Pearson. No matter what you, or anyone who agrees with you, believe.

NP had to play academy players or at least have them on the bench due to a combination of injuries & a lack of investment in recruiting players.
what do people on here want from Manning, try and finish the season in as high a position as possible or to blood young players? If he played young players at the expense of results people would moan. Can’t have it both ways as a fan base, either people want Manning to do his best to deliver results and accept less mins for young players or give him a break on results if it means young players getting game time.
I get that Manning has been instructed to get as many points as possible, presumably, so he’d be less inclined to blood youngsters. Mr Pearson deserves a lot more credit than you give him though. He gave opportunities to young players when he didn’t have to..and kept us competitive.
I believe it’s been pointed out before that Manning doesn’t have a great record at MK Dons or Oxford for bringing academy players through.

Did he tell everyone he should be leading our attack?
He seemed to have an issue with Dykes who, to my knowledge, has more goals at this level than Thorpe.

I think we need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
We are undoubtedly progressing, albeit slowly and you are bound to get good performances with the odd poor performances thrown in.... especially at the end of a mad run of games which we have had.
We need to get the number and regularity of those poor performances reduced and that will happen.
I take the positive view that we have shown in the last 4 or 5 games that we can pay brilliantly and beat anyone on our day - and those type of performances will be repeated going forward....it's the same.players and same coach.
Can’t agree. We’ve seen this kind of performance, or lack of, far too often.

If we’re going to be one of the top teams in this division then we’re going to have to get used to beating teams who put men behind the ball. We simply can’t do it though.
-
We won’t be celebrating that in 50 years time. Appalling

How many Saturday’s like this have I seen like this in my life? It’s just been one of the worst performances this season.
It’s been one of the worst but there’s been some serious competition

This is becoming quite the regular occurrence. From the sublime to the ridiculous.
