  1. Nardiello may be a good shout, Barnsley will be there or thereabouts this season, you only tailed off at the backend when we actually managed an away win there...be interesting times for you Yorkies-Wednesday, Barnsley definitely in with a shout, possibly 'Uddersfield, Donny Rovers, and Bradford might pull a surprise or two...at least they are still here, deservedly, unlike Francheese FC Makes our Swindon, Torquay derbies look tame. In truth I can only see really weak sides Chesterfraud, and Peterboro.....
  2. Dunno, no bookies mentioned..........honestly didnt notice Gillespie on there at 25's...him and Showunmi look good long odds, as well as Lee M, Robbo, and Heff(Obviously not long odds for them, but as outright bets)....wonder if Parkin will still be at Swindle when the season starts though? The Wednesday boys reckoned Beckett as a good bet too..no comment from them re Leapy either..
  3. Nicked from Owlstalk this morning, a list of the odss on top div 2 Striker, and it sure makes interesting reading: Sam Parkin (Swindon) 8/1 Eugene Dadi (Tranmere) 9/1 Paul Heffernan (Bristol City) 9/1 Steve Howard (Luton) 12/1 Christian Roberts (Bristol City) 14/1 Aaron Wilbraham (Hull) 14/1 Adam Boyd (Hartlepool) 14/1 Rory Fallon (Swindon) 16/1 Lee Miller (Bristol City) 16/1 Simon Haworth (Tranmere) 16/1 Gregg Blundell (Doncaster) 16/1 Scott Taylor (Blackpool) 16/1 Steven MacLean (Sheff Wed) 16/1 Ben Burgess (Hull) 20/1 Danny Allsopp (Hull) 20/1 John Murphy (Blackpool) 20/1 Adam Proudlock (Sheff Wed) 20/1 Warren Feeney (Stockport) 20/1 Mark Stallard (Barnsley) 20/1 Lee Peacock (Sheff Wed) 25/1 Leo Fortune-West (Doncaster) 25/1 Junior Mendes (Huddersfield) 25/1 Michael Boulding (Barnsley) 25/1 Stephen Gillespie (Bristol City) 25/1 Dean Windass (Bradford) 25/1 Wayne Andrews (Colchester) 25/1 Daniel Rodrigues (Bournemouth) 33/1 Luke Beckett (Stockport) 33/1 Jorge Leitao (Walsall) 33/1 Andy Booth (Huddersfield) 33/1 Jamie Cade (Colchester) 33/1 Scott McGleish (Colchester) 33/1 Isaiah Rankin (Brentford) 33/1 Enoch Showunmi (Luton) 33/1 Jermaine Johnson (Oldham) 33/1 Calum Willock (Peterborough) 40/1 Scott Vernon (Oldham) 40/1 Billy Paynter (Port Vale) 40/1 Jamie Mackie (Milton Keynes Dons) 40/1 Jermaine McSporran (Doncaster) 40/1 Wayne Allison (Chesterfield) 50/1 Christopher Killen (Oldham) 50/1 Ben May (Brentford) 50/1 Andy Clarke (Peterborough) 66/1 Chris Armstrong (Wrexham) 66/1 Rodney Jack (Oldham) 100/1 The odds on top striker for the season.............note Robbo, and Lee M, as well as the obvious Heff, are better odds than the wonderous Leapy!! This is considering Robbo aint even garanteed a game and all. McCleans tipped to finish better too. See Dani R is in there too, but for me Showumni is a good long odds bet.
  4. True, and he might pass the ball to us by accident!! Still should save the teams legs for more important issues like promotion I guess!!
  5. We'll see pretty damn quick how we have improved under Tinman..we have got one of our jynx teams..and the scene of one of our worst ever games last season..anyone going up?
  6. Sounds to me like its worth a punt then.....I'm led to beleive he's been released as well. We're being linked to everybody at the mo, and any of the big twos players who come up, provided they dont carry personal problems have got to be worth looking at. A few of Citys best have been from north of the border....just wonder if this guy might be worth investing in..for me not a problem, they want to prove they are good, and coming to England may well give them that chance...look at PlyMOUTH -almighty these days. What sort of money are these youngsters on up there? Could we afford him I wonder?
  7. Rab: Is this guy one who could link up well with Lee M and Robbo...sounds like Gers still buy in talent rather than trusting their kids to come through and do the biz? 25 goals a season looks good..are we looking at a Scottish International cap or two for the lad, or not quite that level yet? Cheers, Carl.
  8. Whats the scoop in this wee boy...any good..understand he scored a few at Funny Scunny...Can ya help, as I beleive hes a Gers boy?
  9. ..actually twas Mooney I was more commenting on..any idea if this Central South (Swindle obsessed that it is) article had any relevance to City, as they reckoned we were favorites to sign him, which IMHO aint the right way to go.
  10. In true tradition of the silly season..thought I'd post this: Last night on Central South it appears fat man Mooney has turned down his contract offer, and they said Bristol City are favorites to sign him...no more, no less.. So what with us having an offer accepted on Heffernan, and Marcus Stewart allegedly wanting to play for us.....it looks like every striker in the land wants to come here. For what its worth rather have Heffernan, or Stewart than Mooney..but there ya go. Anybody have any update on this at all?
  11. Got the desert island books about City, for me birthday, great read..reminds me how low we have sunk at times!! But looking at the stats at the back on Wardys teams when we went up, and there are quite a few familiar faces: Mickey Bell, Keith Millen, Shaun Taylor, Louis Carey, Aaron and Marvin Brown, Matty Hewlett, Tommy Doherty, Tin Man, Matty Hill, and Steve Phillips, Tony Thorpe joined the following season. Some or all of the other kids may have been on the fringes too. Hewlett, Thorpe, and Marvin have now left, and Keith and Shaun are now back room staff. My question is with so many faces still here from the last promotion, how come its been so damn difficult? Christ we tried to blow it that season as well!!
  12. Today 60 years ago, Rome fell to the allies after the vicious battle for Monte Cassino, and on Sunday, its the 60th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe-D Day. Some of your fathers/grandfathers/great-grandfathers may have fought, and indeed they may have fallen there. Please spare the time to think about their sacrifice then, and go up to any of the old veterans, and thank them for their sacrifices. Had they not made them, none of us would be doing what we are doing today. Others have made the ultimate sacrifice since then, and still do today. My Father was one of the hundreds of thousands who were there, and he was one of those who came back alive, and well in body and mind. Many, Many others did not, and lie in a tranquil corner of some foreign field. Never, ever forget these sacrifices by those guys, some of which, like us were City (or Rovers) supporters. It puts all our minor problems today, in a little more perspective. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
  13. Typical Swineden, always hanging on someone elses coattails as well.
  14. I hadnt been on today, dont think I'll bother...cant talk sense to the Swine anyway...two or three of their biggest d***heads are among the posters!!
  15. Tins, Can you pass on my very best wishes, and good luck Sunday to Danny, Frank, Shaun and the lads for the game. We are all with you 110%, and lets show em all the best of Bristol... Sh{theads for life!! The Reds are coming..THE RED ARMY IS GOING TO CARDIFF!!!!!!
  16. Chesh, for your interest: Some of our Muff friends and their Swineden ilk, plus some Gills are on the cyber prowl again, on Rivals, they've hit Gills, Rushden, and Sarfend...then I lost interest..some of it is funny though...certainly p***** the Gillingham moderator right off.....bit like the last lot funnier this time, no smart @rse Watfart or Grim-sby!!

  19. ###### performance..AGAIN, the team obviously dont wanna go up.......... See ya at Layer Road, Kenilworth Road, and Torquay then............
  20. According to local edition of the super soaraway Scum, city have joined the hunt with Preston and Sheffield U for his signature. Apart from the obvious, ie we need a quality striker, as usual late in acknowleging the fact...what does anyone else think. Apparantly he's 30, and highly unlikely to come to us with those two in the hunt, but is he worth a punt on?
  21. Missed the point, there, I said Hypothetical, and who I'd like...not we're going to get........
  22. Before any of you Wilson lovers bite my head off...this is an interest topic ONLY, , and a hypothetical one only, seeing as we'll be stuck with him anyway, cos we cant pay him off. But who would you like as the City manager next season? Me personally, like to see Peter Taylor, or Moysey. Light blue touchpaper, retire behind wall and await explosion.....
  23. Danny, While QPR wobble, we should be making inroads on their lead! And we're not-Not good enough! INSPIRE your team, we want absolutley everything in the last two games from them. Pick attacking sides and try and play into the box, not hopeful punts in. We MUST win both games to stand a chance, or its that damn lottery AGAIN, and our track record aint good. You WILL have the backing of the fans 110% for the game, and now its up to YOU to INSPIRE us to promotion. We dont want excuses, just total effort. Substitute players who aint up to scratch, and dont tinker. Its within our grasp, and we dont need bottling performances right now. Come on you Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!
  24. Due to working tomorrow, I cant even listen to the game-so come on you Reeeeeeeeeeeeeds, you can do it, beat Brighton, and hopefully we'll be 2nd come 5.15 tomorrow night!! Raise the roof!!
