    Luton

I work with loads of Luton fans, and after the inevitable p*** taking this morning, they had three interesting observations: They say the goal did cross the line, and they wernt being partisan, about it. They saw us get the equaliser and thought that was it... a draw, and couldnt beleive it when they promptly scored another. They normally concede late goals, when they are winning! Most interesting of all, they say we are the best team they've played at Kenilworth Road. Best football, strongest team, strong in all (!) departments, and they were VERY releived Robbo got substituted.First time they have beaten us in the league since 82 discuss........... My point of view, we should be the strongest team, but we have a secret weapon DW Tactics & Substitutions, and that led to our undoing...at the least we should have got a draw, given Lutons current record. Our defence is lacking in confidence if the right midfield aint played, and Saturday it wasnt! Finally we blew it when Robbo was subbed for Goodfellow, with the size of Luton defenders!
  2. Outstanding hard won victory tonight, lads, well done..Tins tell them they did us proud again tonight...Well done!!
  3. I stand corrected, I was away out of the country then, and didnt check my facts, which makes that game, the performance the best of the season then. I wasnt aware the Port Vale game was so bad, although I knew Wrexham away was bad, another bottom six side performance won over that particular one. At least Vale & Wrexham are in the top part of the table. Someone said we wernt much cop againt Luton either, any feedback on that game? Facts are facts though, if we beat the lower part of the table sides we wouldnt bre having this discussion, at all. Its shocking how badly we've played against the bottom sides, Notts County & Chesterfraud excepted
  4. Didnt Miller get sent off?? right bout Swinedead, but we were under the cosh for what 20 minutes and didnt cave in, unlike recent "EFFORTS"
  5. A look at our season: High Points: PlyMOUTH 0 -1 City, Best result of the season, and shows what we could do!! QPR 1 - 1 City. And City down to ten, first goal scored there? Another outstanding result. Brighton 1 - 4 City Late goals, but goes to show again what we could do. Hartlepool 1 - 2 City. First team to win at Hartlepool for wht 14 months. City 2 - 1 Swinedead. Not a vintage performance, but a good result at home for us. Thats what we are capable of, but now the horror show: Low Points: Wycombe 3 - 0 City. My personal worst Ever City performance, utter ######* all round. bottom, no win in 13 too, as i remember. Stockport 2 - 0 City. Not good was it, and the excuses came out didnt they. 2nd bottom side no win in how many? City 0 - 2 Oldham. Oh dear, people who never left early before did, and not many defend Wilson over this. ###### dire. Now scored more goals than City as a result. worried? I should ######* think so! City 1 - 1 Wycombe. another good performance eh, bottom side almost all season too. vintage-NOT!! City 1- 1 Peterboro, another poor side another poor home performance. They are also in the relegation area. The worry about the above 3 of the five are RECENT performances, and the other two prove we have not been much better at other stages. We wernt even convincing during several games during the 11 match run either When you think of PlyMOUTH and QPR away, and Hartlepool too, does anyone wonder why so much hostility is shown with our recent ###### run. Any comparison to Wigan is totally false. We set our own standards, and boy do we!! Discuss at leisure, just thought I'd list the high and low points there. Promotion, I doubt it somehow, sorry.
  6. I lost BCFC World at half time, what was the 2nd half like? Any better than the first half? Luckily only QPR, and Brighton made any ground up. But seriously do we look like a promotion side? On the first half performance I reckon not....
  7. Wycombe 2-2 QPR, automatic gone then. Lucky Swinedead, and Brighton are being beaten/held. Promotion???? On this performance no ######** chance!!
  8. 2-0 down already, Christ what are you doing?? At last Leapy off!!! Why no Goodfellow???????????????????? What the ##** is going on???? Eastend are good though, well done lads!!!! Good noise, keep it up!!
  9. Young innocent shaver in 76, started out as a glory hunter, and then I stayed, cos its been a buzz being a Cider-Red all these years!!
  10. Who d'you rate as our best promotion chasing side? My choice would be Big Joes side, runners up, but twas a side! Over to you guys n gals...................
  11. A message for the players, You dont need incentives for promotion (I hope you dont), but here is another great one. As you know Sir Brian Tinnion is coming to the end of his illustrious career, as one of the finest players ever to wear the red City shirt. He deserves to play at a higher level, so wouldnt it be great id you guys got promoted so Sir Brian could grace Division 1 stages before he retires? Its the least he deserves after the loyal service to any club which is so rare in todays game. He is a hugh example to all young players, and to the fans he is and always be a hero . So come on Danny & Team, get off ya @sses and get promoted for Sir Brian.Everybody at the club will behind you. You know its well in your grasp, and abilities, and think of the great man himself next season!! Start with Oldham Saturday
  12. See Brighton have stengthened their poor strike force with Iwelumo, for the rest of the season. They have a problem scoring goals though', unlike us eh???
  13. Gotta say I am surprised at the replies. We aint all cynical od b*******, nore or we all shiney young happy clappys. This I say on behalf of all of us. Hope the board, club, and players never ever take us for granted, this club can only get bigger and better for all these Trying times. Final point from me, if we win most of our games that automatic slot beckons. Time for us all whichever stand you are in EE, Atyeo, Dolman, Williams od BCFC World/BBC Radio Briz, support the team for the next 11 games. Tins, get that team, lean, mean and a fighting machine, and we can do it. Bring back Red Goblin, re-instate the Goblin!!!
  14. Following on from the are we going up- straight yes/no, IU'd like to ask, what ages are ya? Just thinking the older ones among us seem more cynical then you young uns!! Just interesting, can ya say which way and your ages for a light heated look at us all. For the record I said no, cos we wont go up via the play offs, and I'm 47. Over to y'all..
  15. This is put on here for you all to read, and understand how we all feel. Excuses have been put about, but the bottom line is that as fans performances like those against Wycombe, and Stockport are unacceptable. Those of you who read this forum will know, some of you are getting blamed. Fact is people we as fans as passionate about our team, and we are entitled to ask if all of you are. A good perecntage of you have been in sides which have blown it at the last minute. What I ask is that you read this, and act on it. The fans should not have to keep watching poor performances like this season in, season out. Do not not take this as pointless negative criticism, if you do, ask yourself if you should be playing for Bristol City Football Club. You are all aware of our, and the games problems, and we should all be pulling together, taking our great club forwards. We have had far too many false dawns, and missed oppurtunities, and awful performances. Just think of the LDV, and 40,000 Cider-Reds supporting you, that is what we can all acheive. team, We will do our bit, the board will do its bit, but you as the manager, & must do your bit. Excuses should not be needed! Thank you. Calling all our players: Wake the ##** up, you are playing for one of the best teams in this division, you have one of the best grounds, probably some of the best paid, best supported, one of the most likely for promotion if you put the effort in.TIME TO PULL YOUR SOCKS UP GET A GRIP AND GET PROMOTED!!dont glare at the fans if you play badly and get beat. Just get together, no excuses, play as the team we know you are capable of playing as. If you have any doubt, go and see Danny Wilson, and ask for a transfer. We want players who are commited to this club, and will wear the Red shirt with pride, passion, like Brian Tinnion has with distinction, for 10 years. Look at how he plays, learn, and you will find we will be behind you all 150% Thank you for reading, and hopefully this will start the fight for promotion to Division 1.
  16. Go on then, justify this ######* p*** poor reult on top of the bottom club at home then?? Little evidence that we were good enough today.
  17. Ooops!! Sorry, looking at it again, Consider me b****** sorry not reading the post throughly. But hopefully our players are professional in their lives, it aint always been the case in the past
  18. Always a quick way to wise up then, when you see a Red n white scarf near an RTA involving bikes. Twas almost always RD-LC's & X7's as I remember although I remember early Z750's being evil bitches to ride (Stopped me drinkin & ridin I'll tell ya!) Always loads of guys gettin their lids back after games, wonder where they all are, there are so few bikes seen these days, except your local bypass, where they pull stunts like this player, doing a ton-twenty weaving from lane to lane. all these old places, aint stopped in Briz fer years, what are they these days, and any bike freindly pubs any more-used to be the Mardyke?
  19. ###### Red Goblin, they were the days, the Granary rocked, and the music and bikes! One of the few places bikers and footy fans got on in them days. Shame City went tits at the height of all them times. Being p***** was occupational then, but not if ya rode, those wicked handling bikes would have ya just like that. different days, different atitudes too.
  20. Er, no, but there is a valid point in this: Professional players at all levels shouldnt indulge to excess. And yes I guess there is a comparison in players, Quite a few of ours, and QPR, and a few Plymuff have expectations of playing at a higher level, and the three clubs also have an expectation to do so as well. ManUre are highly concious of bad publicity, because of their high profile, more than we and other Div 2 sides are, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt be either. Its also self evident we are not as talented as Manure cos we are English League Div 2, and they are 3rd in the English Premiership, and in the knockout stages of the Champions League, or is that not self evident enough for you? Van Nistelrooy signs for City, yeah dream on mate- I've been a Cider-Red for almost 30 years and er no we aint going to get that sort of player, nice dream though! With lesser publicity machines comes less pressure to conform. also players who play at this level are young guns hoping to make the step up, or journeymen, or those who couldt quite make it, due to lack of talent, personal problems- temperament, alcohol, poor attitudes to training, managers etc. So yeah its a fair cop in general. How many Prem teams would stick with under-performing players for long?. sorry reckon my comments do have credibility in comparing the two levels.
  21. An observed p*** test, traces and you are history....
  22. The ManUre player who was on loan to Watfart, and died in a car smash, on the opening day of the season, was apparantly twice the legal limit, and hadnt been to sleep for almost 24 hours. Bear with me a sec for the link- if a player for one of the worlds top sides, even if he was a youth team player, can be that p***** and drive a car, what chances of our players worse performances being down to excess alcohol. For all Manures faults team discipline will be pretty strict, and their players will be much more professional, than SOME players at our level. I wonder if this expains some of our, and Plymuff, QPR etc performances below par?? I hear the occasional story of player x's(Sometimes named, sometimes not) antics, some City ones too over the years, not just Jacki! Wonder what DW's stance is on this, and what y'all think. I like a bevvy or two, but there is a time and a place, and never whhile driving, or working with machinery(Not a dig at this poor guy by the way) What alcohol checks if any do any of you go through. Personally I get Random Drugs tests, and watched for excessive alcohol intake in my job, but thats it. Over to everyone for discussion..........
  23. Fact: We should have beaten Wycombe last night. Fact: Who is asking for Wilson to be kicked out? I aint mentioned this at all, and I'm not aware of anyone else doing so. Fact: Peacock aint scored in 7, and he admitted he hadnt in 6 on BCFC world yesterday. Fact: I've never queried Leapys work rate, but he is a STRIKER, and his work rate dont prove jack, if he aint scoring. Fact: QPR, and Plymuff have 2 strikers each in double figures, we aint. Fact: We aint battered many sides in our run, due to this less than effective strike force. Fact: Leapy is the No1 and most experienced striker, he should be showing the lesser lights how to do it, and if he aint getting the service, showing them how to give him, and his various strike partners. He is also one of the senior pros, and Tins apart gets more games than anyone else, even Tins got dropped last night. Fact: You cant really argue with the QPR/Plymuff posts about us, cos we dont seem able to kill a game stone dead, once we take the lead, can we. The team as awhole is playing well, but lack of goals puts pressure on everyone. Final one for DW, if you dont rate Robbo, Matthews, Marvin, at all, and dont reckon Leroy, and Miller are quite up to it, as shown by the way the teams have been picked, transfer list them all, and use the money (minimum 250,000 ish)to get a striker(s) that you think will do the business. This then kills all our arguments stone dead, and should get us promotion. Offer Leapy his contract, which should then encourage him to end this barren run of his, or transfer list him. City are good enough to go up, but we need a striker who will get regular goals. If we dont we may just be stuck in this ###### division another year, with concequences mentioned by the board, which means good players leaving/being sold and we being left with the less impressive players. Final thought, as Leapy is out of contract in the summer, you would think that a club would be coming in for him if he was as good as people say. Anyone done so?
  24. Blip, Blip, he keeps doing this, a quck burst of goals, to get us off his case, and the club in the hunt again, and then hes off again. IF we go up, there aint no way this bloke should be here then. Notice Cureton got 2 goals tonight, er we didnt want him! Why the ##** not, he would be more use than Bloody Leapy- remind me, how many strikers have QPR got- Judas, Cureton, Rowlands, two in double figures, and how many has Cureton? How many of ours are? How many play every match all game? Judas aint even played regularly for either Luton, or QPR, but es got more goals than Leapy. Lack of goals will ##** up promotion for us. We gotta sort this before its too late. I hope to hell I'm wrong and this bloke turns into a superstar (I aint going to hold my breath). If we struggle on Saturday, we are back in the chasin pack, not bloody leading it, and the heads wil go down again. The support was there again too.

    Peacock

A spot of bench warming is in order, and give Leroy & Miller a chance!! Yes Peacock worked (again), and as the No 9 should have (And didnt- again) scored, as our No1 favored striker. Give someone else a go. And he definitely aint worth a new contract as a No 9!!! Even Tin Man was benched for a while tonight, and it showed when he came on, we actually looked capable of scoring. Discuss, and no I don't now, ever did, or ever will rate him, he's worth 50,000 max, not 600,000, we were ripped off.
