  1. 4-4-2 please. GK- Heaton. LB- Cunningham. CB's- Carey and Fontaine. RB- Moloney. RM- Anderson. CM's- Skuse and Kelly. LM- Bryan. ST's- Davies and Baldock.

I'd like to see Burns and Taylor get a run out if we're still in the game at about 60 minutes.

I like the look of this but what do we know. I know nothing about Bryan mind..heard good reports thus far so perhaps subject to consideration ahead of Pearson who, by many accounts on here, has not been good of late!

Arghhh... I think Kilkenny will feature mind so Skuse or Kelly to bench warm me thinks whoops... or rather Burns.!

  2. “I’ve got three reports as always and a couple of games on DVD. They played Sheffield Wednesday and drew 3-3. You can look at that two ways, they’ve scored three away from home but also conceded three.

Either he has bad eyesight or unable to count.. perhaps he will do us a favour and put 9 players on the pitch tomorrow!!

1-1 either way me thinks or hopes.

  3. With all the moans about player, the only City fans that benifit are the ones outside the U.K.

Save your money, all the important goal action is on the football league show

Not sure the word 'benefit' is relevant to this discussion though !!!

If only the Football League Show was beamed across the waves... having said that I can pick it up on iplayer if I bounce my signal off a UK satellite phone and fool the Beeb I am, in fiction, in the UK.. like now.. stats will show the web master I am in the UK with my IP address when in fact I am not. Trouble is it does not always work. But, as you say, mustn't grumble.

  4. Its Rhetorical; clearly both are seriously useless.

But why do fans put up with a web site far far worse than it was and a software system that makes the rather poor BCFC World a rather missed platform?

The real question we should be asking though is this:-

How do we find out if the persons(s) at the FA or Football League, who presumably made the decision, has been sacked? !!.... Because that is what they deserve.

Seriously a shambolic transfer of power from one provider to another when we went from World to Player and now with the web site change. Since it is not exactly a life critical topic it is laughable yet lamentable and I suppose sums up generally falling standards in all walks of life.

Off for a glass of Havana Club and still smiling after City stopped the rot today. :)

  5. Shambles.

One of the guys that I genuinely thought had a bright future and, naturally now probably greater through an illicit means, has just defected along with how many?... 2 others. Unbelievable. Perhaps not but perhaps more unbelievable is seeing the remaining first team draw 1-1 with Panama at the Pedro Marrero Stadium in a world cup qualifier and with more Panamanian supporters than Cuban.

My quest to find a Cuban gem is foundering on the rocks of the Malecon. Oh well, back to my cigar. :mafia:

The only aspect of this story that made me laugh was Blatter sticking his nose in by saying I cannot let this rest; no doubt he fancies a jolly to Havana and this is his opening gambit.. just watch.

  6. Top of the Conference tonight, just two places below the other Rovers. Highest ever league position for them if I am not mistaken. This season, finally, they look a genuine threat. Not many realise they are the longest serving Conference team now.

How blissful for many would it be for the two to swap places this close season?

Spare a thought for a moment then; Nailsworth has a population of less than 7,000 people, if they were promoted into the Football League, and they are tipped to do well this season, the town would be by far the smallest place to host a league team. I believe that title is currently held by Aldershot with about 25,000 +/- ? Well done to the current owner who is backing their rise.

Now consider the other Rovers... I am sure it is not lost on the average Gas fan, as they contemplate the season ahead, how their relative plight and poor start compares with the steady and solid progress of Forest Green and their rise to the top of the table this evening.

The Chairman of BRFC seems to be pretty hapless with his managerial decisions.

  7. "Lupoli is scoring plenty of goals again for the reserves this season and he will score goals in any country, in any division, on any training ground - he is a proper goalscorer." - Thierry Henry.

Of course that was then, 27 in 32 starts for the reserves, and this is now. Many may remember him from loan spells at Derby, Sheffield United and Norwich. He is a free agent after leaving Grosseto in Serie B. He has never really shone anywhere since those youth days. Unsettled, lack of direction or good management? Who knows.

Someone somewhere will give him a trial. He is still only 24 and there is no doubt he has talent. It just needs properly harnessing. He could, on paper, be better than any of the fox in the box strikers we have been talking about all summer and if money is tight at City then giving the lad a trial might not be a bad idea.

And, according to this report he wants to be back here...

  8. That Derry article just seems to emphasise how much Pompey, at the very least, are being run or portrayed as being seemingly in a parallel world to their reality. Kind of beggars belief but it is no different from what they have been doing since before the 2nd of their 3 administrations.

As far as i am concerned, it has to be 3 strikes and you are out... out of the Football League. Yes I feel for the fans but the club finally has to be taught a stern lesson, any lesson dealt so far has just been ignored with utter contempt by repeated owners.

  9. I'm fairly sure that Kanu and Ben Haim were there for the first one, all the rest have joined since and should have known what they were walking into.

Kanu for sure. Ben Haim joined in August 2009 and they went into Admin early in 2010... that was the pen-ultimate time. These are the two highest paid players, the latter by some margin..36k a week with Kanu on 10k a week. The rest are on similar or less than Kanu.

    Little bit more background...

Kitson and Lawrence arrived in the summer of 2010 with a certain Marc Wilson going the other way.. to Stoke. Norris arrived in June 2011 on a free from Ipswich, Pearce, Varney, Henderson and Halford followed soon after. Henderson of course has gone to West Ham. Huselklepp came in August 2011 and, astonishingly, a fee of £1.5 million was 'paid' to Bari.. debuting against us in a 0-0 niller. Although he did subsequently agree to a loan move to Brum until the end of last season.

All in all a right mess.

  10. I don't know if the eight Pompey players tearing up their contracts will be enough to keep Portsmouth in business as I haven't really followed the situation in great detail. However, if the opportunity is there for them to become heroes at the expense of personal gain it will be fascinating to see what option they choose.

Will they conform to the stereotype of modern footballers being greedy b*stards?
