  1. I thought Roberts did ok & kept going. Max was good. I got a lift up Bemi Down Hill so avoided post match rain. Those are the pluses for me.
  2. Enjoying The Last Dinner Party debut album.. Got tickets for Sea Girls next month & The Snuts in Nov.
  3. I think you are wrong. If its in our own hands it must be clearly be in the own hands of every team from us up to 6th place. It can't be in all those clubs own hands when there is only at most 2 places to fight for. If there are a few games to go & you're occupying 6th space, then its in your own hands. With so many games to go, I'm not sure the phrase is even appropriate, but it certainly doesn't apply to us. It's in our own hands to have a strong finish to the season, but not to get in the top 6.
  4. It's anything other than "in our own hands" really. The teams that occupy the top 6 places, it's in their hands. We could have a really strong end to the season, but unless a no. of other teams fall back majorly, we won't get top 6.
  5. This may be an area where LM/NP have different approaches. Under Nige, if you got in & played well, you tended to hold the shirt irrespective of a)your age/experience & b) who you replaced. Pring has played loads of minutes so it would make sense to me, even if he's fit, to have him on the bench tomorrow & see how HR does against a different type of opponent.
  6. That's exactly how I see it, & my gut feel is that LM prefers the latter as it gives greater "control". Just happy to have 2 decent options for either full back position really. Was really impressed with McC's cut back for the 3rd goal. It feels like we often get into good positions but rarely play the right final pass so to see that was great.
  7. Turkish Song of The Damned - The Pogues.
  8. It's a good job you wore your brown trousers Dominic......
  9. It was an extraordinary season & absolutely built on team work & determination over anything else. I'm convinced that had McCombe been fit & Orr not got crocked, we'd have beat Hull in the final.
  10. I loved his philosophy on luck. If a journo suggested we were unlucky, Basso would always strongly refute it & say you can't blame things on luck as it suggests your actions don't determine the outcome. I've no time for organised religion but Basso had a fantastic attitude which was clearly steeped in his faith. When he saved the penalty from Darius Henderson, heck, even i almost believed in a higher power!
  11. Managed by a certain Colin W, I believe. We then stuffed Walsall on the Sat but the Sags won too (Blackpool?) to win the title.
  12. Could be, we def stuffed them away (4-1, I think?).
  13. It was as if no-one told the players it was a big match. Before the game I was chatting to some BHA fans, they just assumed we'd win easily but they thought it would give their campaign for a new stadium a bit of publicity! Sat for hours in traffic on the M4 afterwards didn't help the mood.
  14. Despite being at Twerton for "that game", the Brighton final remains my most depressing experience as a City fan (& to be fair, its had a lot or challengers over the years!).
  15. There's a guy down the chip shop, swears he's Elvis - Kirsty McColl
  16. I think its more due to his best mate going to the Prem & TC (rightly) wanting some of that himself. But I agree, he would have signed by now if he was staying.
  17. Redknapp almost signed him for Pompey on transfer deadline day some years back. According to Harry he's got a t'riffic engine.
  18. To answer the original posters question, it would be the sort or person who is rude and boorish. In short, a punk.

    Tins on RB

I think he desperately wants success. However he won't relinquish control & that's what's held us back. He should have looked a BCFC like a business acquisition where he was buying into a sector where he had no knowledge. The smart thing to do would be to hire the best people you can afford to run the club & then get out of the way & let them get on with it.
  20. I remember when the concensus was that Bobby Reid wasn't a Championship level payer. Fair play, it turned out to be true as well.
